What's your experience with the room service here? It'll be the first time I stay in a hotel that offers it and noticed prices don't appear to be that bad. How's the quality, and the portions?

We were there in October and ordered room service twice, once for dinner and once for breakfast.

For dinner we had one club sandwich, one cheeseburger and one kid's grilled cheese. Each came with fries. I can't remember what else came with the kid's meal, maybe fruit?

For breakfast we ordered my DD (2) a Mickey Waffle since I had promised her one and had not been able to follow through until that last morning.

Portions were good sized, similar to what you would receive at any restaurant. Lots and lots of fries. We were not able to finish all the food.

HTH!

We have had the room service before and found it to be quite good. Delivery speed was about normal for a hotel of this size. The sandwiches delivered to our room were freshly made and the burgers and fries were still hot(lots of fries)......:cool1:

Another stupid question: since I've never had room service before, how do you tip?

Don't forget that the hotel will automatically all 18% gratuity to the final bill... Does that mean you don't tip the guy who brings the food to your room??? :confused3

I would say their room service is fair. However, the pizza is great. I think it is like $14.00 and it is huge. We have eaten it on many trips.

I'm trying to think back, but when I ordered room service from PPH, I believe there was a service charge for ordering room service, but gratuity was not included (I tipped separately). In fact most hotels I stay in that do room service work that way - they charge an arm and a leg for the actually delivery to your room, but you still have to tip the person that brings it to you. If they include the gratuity, it's clearly stated.

We usually get room service breakfast on MM mornings, because I can have it there at 6:45 am, and we can be out the door at a quarter after 7 (when MM is at 8--which it usually is for us.) This saves us time, we get a good breakfast, and we've never had a bad experience. Yum!

The times I've had room service there it's always been a good experience. The food is always good. The portions are restaurant sized. It may take a little while to deliver it depending on how busy it is. It's more expensive than driving out to a restaurant but it's more convenient.

Like Mommy2PrincessAbby, I use it a lot for Magic Mornings. I also use it occasionally for dinner when we're just too tired to go out to eat (which is at least once a trip). If you want an early breakfast because you'll be in a hurry to hit the parks you'll want to order it the night before so you can schedule the delivery time for the next morning.

If you are having dinner their desserts are good too. If you are planning to drink water with your meal ask for it when you order and they'll bring it. The water from wherever they get it is iced and seems to taste better than the stuff out of the tap in the room.

Whenever we go as a family of five, we always get room service breakfast. It is just easier for us--and such a nice way to wake up. We order the night before, and then don't set the alarm--we just wait for knock on the door to wake us up the next morning. (This involves me kicking my husband under the covers and saying "honey, room service...room service...room service" until he jumps up in his underwear and throws on his sweat pants.) I stay burried under the covers till the room service waiter is gone.

Then I get up and slowly start opening the curtains and the kids all start groaning. It is a family tradition, and we all know we can't miss with these beloved traditions.

The food is really good--and they give you lots of it. We always order two "american breakfasts", because this has eggs, potatoes, tons of toast, bacon and TWO drinks per order. This allows us to get a drink for everyone in the group--then we order one small pot of coffee for us. My girls always want the pancakes or waffles, so we get one or two orders of those. We end up splitting all this food 5 ways (always ask for extra plates).

I don't know if they include the tip--but I always hear my husband ask "is the tip included?" as he signs. If it isn't I am sure he tips about 20%. So you can always ask about that--they sometimes change the way they deal with tipping.
