I have NEVER stayed on site, and decided the next time we go, we are staying at DLH, even if that means taking longer to save for our next trip. Should be within the next year or two. Sooo, does anyone know the diff between all the rooms? Standard, view and concierge? Are those all the choices? I tried a search because I'm sure it's been asked, but didn't find anything. There's five of us, dh and I, and three kids, currently 5, 7 and 9. The girls can share a bed, but ds needs a rollaway or sleeper chair. Thanks for any advice!

All of the rooms have a sofa that turns into a bed. So you are fine there for your ds. The standard rooms don't have a view (you're looking at the parking lot or on a lower floor). The view rooms you either get a view of downtown disney or the pool. Concierge you pay a lot more for, you get a higher level view room, and access to the concierge lounge which has a continental type breakfast, drinks, and snacks. Personally, I wouldn't bother with concierge unless you have the extra money to spend just for fun. As for view or no view, that depends on if it's worth it to you.

is anyone aware if DLH, does anything special for halloween, as it just reserved for the park.

thanks

We stayed at DLH in Dec 2009 and did NOT have a couch/sleeper in our room, so I would be sure when you book that you verify sleeping space for five.

I believe there are three view types. Basically outside world, lower level pool/DTD, and upper level pool/DTD. Concierge is an add-on. And then you have the fancy theme suites that most of only dream about. :goodvibes

Unless it's part of the refurb (which I am pretty sure it wasn't) not ALL the rooms are 5 sleepers. Many are Q/Q... you book a room for 5 and then they will put you in a room w/a sofa sleeper (and these rooms do not cost more, so they have 5 sleeper standard rooms and 5 sleeper view rooms also).

Concierge rooms are higher up- BUT- the concierge is in Dreams tower (Now I believe called Adventure) and you can be booked into concierge (really anywhere in the hotel) and have concierge added (the cost to add is $125 per night). I believe they can parse out which view "pool view" vs "park view". We did get the niceness of being upgraded during our last stay (christmas '09) from a standard to a pool view. Not the biggest deal (esp w/construction having just been started)... it was nice. Not sure if I consider that worth it - I'd rather have a park view honestly than a pool view. However, by the time your visit would occur all the construction will be done.

I have never stayed during Halloween time, but I can tell you I have never heard anything on the "boards" that there is anything special at all done at any of the three hotels during Halloween time (only during christmas).

We have stayed a few times in a standard view room. We never had a sofa sleeper. Our view was of the parking lot but we could also see the fireworks and Matterhorn I can't complain I have always loved it there. We are staying at the Grand in a few weeks can't wait for it. I have a feeling I will go back to DLH for my next on property visit. Now with all the refurbs it just seems so much better. We just did not want to stay there with construction going on.

I should clarify the couch sleeper is in all the refurbed rooms. Older rooms won't have them, but the older rooms are gone now!

Sorry, I must disagree. We stayed in a refurbished room in the Dreams Tower last June. It was a view room. It definitely did not have the couch sleeper. We were a party of 4, so I didn't specify a preference to have that type of room. Clearly, the OP should state a preference for a room with a daybed. If that is not provided, there is definitely enough room to fit a rollaway, but I don't know if rollaways cost extra. I would be annoyed if that incurred an extra cost when the hotel could have just provided a room with enough sleeping accommodations.

Ah, ok, I was told differently (that they don't have rollaways because the rooms all have sofas that fold into sleepers). Was there a sofa in your room? It's not a typical sofa bed, you actually fold the sofa part flat kinda like a futon. Hard to figure out. We had a room for 5, but my in-laws had a room for 2 and still had the sofa.
