I need some specific info on the pool(s) at the DLH. Obviously, I've seen a billion pictures of the Neverland-themed pool, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't get very shallow anywhere. Is that correct? Is there a separate wading pool somewhere? It seems like I've read about one every once in awhile, but I don't recall ever seeing it and I can't find mention of one in any of my guidebooks. We will be there next week with our newborn, almost 3 year old, and almost 5 year old, none of whom can swim. So unless there's a pool at the DLH that doesn't get more than a foot and a half deep (like the one at the GCH) we probably won't bother packing stuff to swim in. Thanks for any info! :sunny:

I can't think of a baby pool there either. I know the "Quiet" pool goes up to 5 feet deep and the Neverland pool is 4ft all the way around. HOWEVER, the hotel has a giant chest full of life jackets free for little kids. They are nice and adjustable, the shiny slick foam full vest kind that tie in the front and are adjustable for every kid. My 6 year old wanted on just because it looked cool! Your kids will love it and they also have a lot of lifeguards around the pool. It is probably the only pool we have been when you can actually take your eyes off the kids to blink for a second because chance are great that one of the lifeguards are watching them! I talked to one last time and the boss is very strict and they take their jobs seriously. There is a big slide but there is also a little slide perfect for your aged kids. They are allowed in Ariels hot tub which is never too hot and your little ones (well the 3 & 5)will be able to walk on the bench in that holding your hand. Take your swim stuff, you can always decide when you get there but if you don't have it, you won't have the option unless you are prepared to buy suits for everyone in the gift shop. It doesn't take that much room in the luggage. For my kids, the pool is almost as fun as DL itself and doing both is heaven!

I am almost positive that there is a kiddie pool at the DLH. I want to say that its in a separate area from the Neverland Pool (but very close to it) near the children's playground. I know there is a small slide great for younger kids in addition to the bigger slide at the Neverland Pool. Also, they have life vests available for kids for free. My nieces went to the DLH with us awhile back when they were just three and didn't swim at all and we used those for them. Good luck, hopefully somebody else can answer you more specifically about the kiddie pool. I would definitely take your swim stuff, if you don't you may regret it as once your kids get a glimpse of that pool they will want to go swimming! And they also have tons of lifeguards around.

over by the GYM is actually two pools, one is deeper, I believe it goes more than 5 feet. next to it, but seperated is what i call the "beach" pool. you walk in mere inches of water goes up about 4 feet I believe, but most of the area is wading area. the plus to both of these pools is both are warmer than the neverland pool, the down side is they are not open as late. the otther plus is not a lot of people go to these pools. have fun!

Oh, good to know! I didn't think to ask this for my 5yo and 2yo. I was thinking we might get some flotation type devices (which would take up some luggage space), so good to know that will not be necessary. Thanks for the info! :sunny:

If you go to the last stickie thread and look through the DLH info, I think there are pictures.......

We just spent a LOT of time in the deeper pool by the workout center last week. That pool goes to 6 ft, the lower pool (one sits on higher ground than the other - they are right next to each other by the workout center) goes to 5ft.

Both pools were very quiet compared to the Neverland pool. For a few days there would maybe be one or two other families in the pool. And the water was at least 10 degrees warmer than the Neverland pool (not an open chair at the Neverland pool by when we went to the pool at 1:00 - 2:00 most days). I'm a big wimp when it comes to cold water, and I didn't have any trouble getting in the 6 ft pool.

All of the DLH pools have steps going into them that a lot of toddlers play on, and don't go out into the main water unless their parent has them. I think the 6 ft deep pool is 3 ft deep after the steps and 5 ft deep pool was 2 ft deep off the steps. But we only spent about 5 minutes in the lower, 5 ft pool.
