DLH for bigger families?

It is myself, DH, and 4 kids (7, 4, 2, 6 months). What are our best options for a room at DLH? Online it has a standard room with a max. occupancy of 5 so would we'd automatically have to have a suite or get 2 rooms? Suites are nearly triple the price.

I've seen pics of the Character Quarters. Has anyone done that? How much extra is it?

Lastly, do they do AP rates for suites and Character Quarters? We may upgrade our 6 for 4 PH in September to a DAP.

We are staying at the DLH in October with our four kids (ages 4 to 13) and have reserved two connecting rooms. You're right about the suite being hugely more.

The pix I have seen of the character rooms seem to have just two twin beds (not enough beds for us). If you are keeping the littlest in a crib and the 2-year-old on the floor it might work, but I'd definitely call and talk to someone about the room setup. I'd hazard a guess that those rooms command a premium as well.

Not sure if DLH would let you do all of you in one occupancy-5 room because the baby is so little? I'm not sure I'd want just one room with all four of mine boucing around in it. There's a beauty in closing off that door at night so everyone sleeps!

There are some things we still need a real, live human beyond the Internet ...

I have stayed in a sofabed room at the DLH with 4 adults and 2 children last Labor Day and it was fine. Lily was 1.5 and in the packand play and Zoe slept on the sofa bed. The hotel will accomodate. If you can handle everyone in the room, then you will be fine. It's nice to have the extra room, but if your budget doesn't allow for it, then do what our grandparents did when our parents were kids and pile in!
