DL tickets and reservations - April 15!

I'm sure this has already been asked (forgive me)......Will multi day tickets be available to purchase ?
How will it work if I have to purchase multi day tic for 3 of us?
This is SO stressful and I'm really missing my AP, never had to worry about black out dates with that.
1-day through 5-day tickets will be available, in both parkhopper and single-park versions. After purchasing tickets for your group, you can link them all to your account, then select some or all of them to create your "party" for whom you can make reservations as a batch, in one-day increments up to the multi-day limit of your tickets.

Does anyone know what the number of reservation limit will be - or how many reservations we can hold at a time?

I don't think they've said for sure, but I expect that however many days you hold valid tickets for is how many days you can make reservations for, so one 3-day ticket + one 5-day ticket = 8 reservation days available to you.

Sorry for the clueless question, but I've only purchased single day tickets and Flex Passes so am still unclear about how multi-day tickets work. If I purchase a multi-day Park Hopper, is that typically a case where the 13-day limit to use them applies?

With my AP gone, I'm trying how best to price and plan for possibly more than one visit before any new pass program is announced. Thanks!

Rumor has it that the multi-day tickets that become available for purchase will not have the 13-day time limit, but I can't find any language confirming that on the tickets page.

People holding current multi-day tickets have reported that once they book one reservation date the only dates available to them with the same ticket are within 13 days on either side, so enforcement of the 13-day rule is definitely in effect for current tickets.

Not sure if this is helpful for anyone, but here is kind of the "fine print" in the email Disneyland sent out to confirm our reservation. Most of it should be on the Disneyland website. But I know there were some questions regarding how many reservations you can have at a time, so I wanted to share.

Know Before You Go

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures, including requiring temperature screenings and face coverings. Guests are reminded to practice social distancing, not touch their face, frequently was their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and use hand sanitizer. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. View important details and what you need to know before visiting Disneyland Resort. At this time, only California residents may visit the parks, and party size is limited to no more than 3 households, per current state guidelines. Proof of residency may be required. Park reservations may be made for up to 10 tickets at a time.

As a result of the impact of COVID-19 on park operations, FastPass and Disney MaxPass services cannot be offered for the time being. Magic Morning and Extra Magic Hour will also be unavailable. We will share future updates on these services at a later date. Certain attractions, restaurants, experiences, services and offerings will be modified or unavailable, will be limited in capacity and will be subject to limited availability or even closure. Offerings are not guaranteed.

Find out more about limitations on experiences and offering, enhanced health and safety measures and what you need to know before visiting Disneyland Resort.

Disney reserves the right to require a Guest to leave if they are (i) not properly wearing an approved face covering, (ii) using profanity or offensive language towards our Cast Members or other Guests and/or (iii) violating any other Park Rules.

How to Redeem Your Theme Park Reservation

Please be ready to show the QR code(s) above and present the associated ticket for each member of your party, as both are required for entry and may be validated at various checkpoints upon arrival. A Cast Member will scan the QR code(s) along with your associated ticket at the theme park turnstiles when you enter the park. Please ensure your ticket is valid for the date of the associated theme park reservation.

Park Hopper Tickets

If you have a Park Hopper ticket, your theme park reservation is for the first park you will visit for the day. You may enter the other park later that day after 1:00 PM.

Multi-Day Tickets

If you have a multi-day ticket, you can make theme park reservations for each valid day of your ticket. Park entry requires both a theme park reservation and a valid theme park ticket. Please be sure your multi-day ticket is valid on the day you’ve selected for your theme park reservation. Most multi-day tickets are valid for 13 days after the day of first use. Please check the expiration rules of your ticket.

So I did go on chat on the Disneyland website and asked if the multiday tickets would have a time limit of 13 days and the cast told me that it would. So I would at this point assume that any multiday tickets must be used with a 13 day window.

Trying to decide if the cost of hoppers are worth it if you can't hop until 1p. Anyone have insight?
We had hoppers going into it, so the decision was made for us, but I'm glad we have the option, especially since we're going after Marvel opens and because RotR is doing both morning & afternoon boarding groups.

For those that had tickets and were able to book today, how soon after 8am did the site open up? And, can you book different days & groups in the same session? Ie two people for one day & three people for a different day. Also, how long was the queue wait to start the reservation process? Thanks for any insights to share.

Ah, that's very helpful, mlggator22. Based on your chat—and unless anyone hears otherwise—I will expect the 13 day window to be enforced. Guess that at least narrows down my options. I definitely won't be buying a 4 or 5-day Parkhopper, that's for sure!

I dont have tickets but tried to familiariaze myself with the process this morning a little after 10 am. The que for me was maybe a minute but probably less. It was quick at that time. When I got to the part where it wanted me to link my tickets I closed it. I wouldnt be surprised if Thursday is a little different as far as wait times as its possible that the majority will be buying tickets and trying to get reservations as opposed to those who already have tickets and want to go in the next two months.

Opened right at 8. Yes, you can book different dates in the same session.
There were a lot people lookie-looing around in there today...so it might have gone even faster with the reservations without that added traffic. Will be interesting to see what Thursday brings, as Disneyland has now also had a chance to see it in action... sans the ticket buying.

This is VARIABLE. And all speculation as both answers received in chat.

I CAN say this -- SoCal tickets should NOT be 13day restricted, but the system is programmed that they ARE restricted 13 days. So even a stated non-13day restriction is having this restriction on the reservation site at this time

Here’s one thing that confuses me. They don’t know what demand will be like on Thursday. So if I buy a five-day ticket, which must be used entirely within 13 days, what if I’m only able to get two or three reservations? Seems like a possibility, since capacity has been capped. I wonder if tickets with more days somehow get reservation priority.

That's why it doesn't really make sense and makes MORE sense as a compromise of loss of AP to have the 2-5 visits use by Dec 16th -- a la the posted SoCal resident pass (that hasn't been working in reality though as it is 13 days restriction that shouldn't be happening).

I don’t get it either. Especially since you have to reserve each day one at a time. You should be able to reserve all days at once with a multi-day ticket...

And what if you start to book and monday is open but no other days within the 13 days (hypothetical situation). Then what? It would seem odd they would not account for this kind of situation?

Someone on Twitter said they were told that when the new tickets go on sale on Thursday, if you choose a multi day option, you will make that ticket selection, then be asked to choose all the reservation days and parks, and THEN you pay for the ticket. This way, if days aren't available, you either pick a different window or choose a ticket with less days.

But then I also saw there will not be a 13 day limit for new multi day ticket sales. Who knows?

I guess we will find out.

Please forgive me for this probably dumb question, but I've always either had an AP or been buying tickets for my husband and I...

My friend and I are trying to buy 2 day tickets and make park reservations for late June. We were planning on me buying both tickets and getting a reservation for both of us. We are both CA residents but do not live in the same household. How do I link her in the Disneyland app so I can buy tickets and make reservations for both of us? Do I even need to link her, or can I just buy 2 tickets under my name and assign her later??

Help is appreciated. :) Thanks!

Longer thoughts about the current process:

I think we might be overthinking it a little in terms of the speed by which the spots will sell out.

Assuming Disney puts a queue in front of the ticket sales on Thursday - that should slow down the number of people both buying tickets and in booking park reservations. (Since only people who've bought tickets can book reservations.) That's assuming that they're not using a single-path transaction, which is entirely possible (and may be likely).

We're still talking thousands of purchases. Assuming they restrict access to tickets to some degree - at the point that you reach the calendar, you should have a pretty good idea as to whether you can book a particular five days in a row. Unless you're trying to book the first five days (or potentially a run that includes June 4th), availability shouldn't really be an issue until hours - if not a day or more - into the process.

I think, eventually, the first two weeks, all the weekends, June 4th, and most of the Fridays will sell out. Some of that (especially April 30th and June 4th) will happen relatively quickly. But I think a lot of that will take some time - especially if people are initially reluctant to buy 4- and 5-day passes.

Anyone reading this is going to be more motivated than the average, which puts them at an advantage. I think the motivated of us - whoever's online at 8am on Thursday - won't have as much trouble getting the days they want, barring some kind of Disney tech cataclysm.

(Which, obviously, isn't entirely out of the question.)
