DL the last week of September?

Im thinking of going to DL the last week of Sept. What are the crowds like then? I was also wondering when the Haunted Mansion closes for it holiday overlay. My DSS would be a bit sad if we missed it again. Thanks in advance.

Based on the last couple of years, HM will close around Sept 10-11 and reopen around Sept. 28-29. I looked at mouseplants archives and those were the apprx dates the last two years.

Crowd and weather wise the end of Sept should be a good time. School is back in, and its still so close to the begining of the year people arent willing to pull their kids out. The weather is still hot. However, it is the start of the fall "off season" so expect ride and entertainment closures.

I knew HM went down sometime then but wasnt sure when (we missed it in oct.'04 and in jan.'06, DSS wouldnt forgive me if we missed it again). I normally go in October or January, but want to try something new this year. (and trying to avoid the snow on the drive down.)

We were there the last week of Sept last year and the HM was closed the whole week it was being decorated for Halloween...I don't know when they open it for Halloween, but we left on the 29th of Sept..we were very sad too that we did not get to ride it..

I was there the very last week of Sept, the first day the HM was open was Friday. Thursday was very good crowd wise, but friday things picked up a lot. We spent most of that day at DCA. Weather was great loved it.
