DL newbie needs help

Being from North Carolina my upcoming three day trip to Anaheim will likely be my one and only. While my DW will be entrenched in work related matters for a week, we have three days to devote to DL and CA (Sept 26-28). I am a self-proclaimed well knowledged and experienced WDW traveler but have no experience with DL. What do I need to know so I don't miss something important in the parks. I will also start a dining thread as well. Any and all help is appreciated. Also any links to particularly helpful previous threads are appreciated.

As the PPs have said, I highly recommend taking a look at HydroGuy's DLR Guide for WDW Vets. It'll give you a good grounding the major differences and similarities between WDW and DLR.

In terms of food and dining, there is a dining review and photo thread that will probably be helpful. I would start at the end and work backwards (most recent info is at the end).
