DL in late March (spring break)?

We've been to DL 5 times - once in November and 4 times (I think) the first or second week of May. I'm getting the itch and am curious how DL is in later March (week of 3/22 to be specific - DD's week of spring break). We went to WDW over spring break once (Easter week 1999) and the crowds were VERY heavy.

It looks like weather averages in the upper 60s, but can be anywhere from 60 to 80 (love the SoCal weather). So how about crowds for spring break, or any other comments around this time of year?

Thanks

I have never been during Spring Break. We always go in early March. My DBF went over Spring Break once...and will never do it again. They had a little over a 2 hour wait for Space Mountain. That's just not fun.

I know the general time frame for spring break is anywhere from mid-March to mid-April, but is there a particular week that is more crowded than others? Several districts near me have their spring break right before or after Easter (April 12), but we are the week of March 30. I'm tossing around the idea of a DL trip either this year or next year, but I'm wondering if that's just insane and I should consider something else? :confused3

A lot of AZ schools have spring break the 2nd week of March, 9th -13th. Arizonans love to flock to Disneyland during spring break. So you should miss us. Don't know about So. Cal schools.

the weekend including the 22nd and the following weekend are Cheerleader weekends, with big competitions at the convention centers. Expect many cheerleaders.

Spring Break is always a confusing time to plan a trip since there are so many different weeks that make up Spring Break depending on where you live--not only in California, but in the neighboring states and Canada.

However, there's one good indicator of the busiest weeks in the parks. Just look at the Annual Passholder (AP) blockout dates. Disney will block out the lower tier APs when they expect the parks to be busy with out-of-state guests.

AP BLOCKOUT DATES
SoCal Select: April 3-19
SoCal: April 4-18
Deluxe: April 10-11

They've basically blocked out the week before and the week after Easter for the SoCal APers. You'll still find guests on Spring Break starting in mid-March, but the heaviest concentration will be around the dates above. I hope that helps!

I know this has been mentioned in other threads...but the week of the 16th is also a Spring Break week for a lot of other AZ schools -- we will be there then.

I totally agree, and that is why we are braving it this year, since Easter and other spring breaks are more centered around April. I am still preparing for it to be busy though.

The thing that really sucks about going during Spring Break is the fact that Arizonans and Canadians have it really early while Washingtonians have it really late.

Why does that suck? :confused3 We all still have a Spring Break, which is good.... I think it would suck more if everyone had Spring Break at the same time - think how crowded it would be then.

It's for people that don't fit into any of the categories. It's basically of long stretch of March-April where the parks are crowded every day.
