I've narrowed down the choices, but would like to know if it's worth the extra $$$ depending on views or hotels. So I have a few questions.

Here's what I've narrowed down to:
Grand Californian Hotel - Standard View
Paradise Pier - Standard or Lower-Level Theme Park View
Disneyland Hotel - Standard, Lower-Level or Upper Level

Here's my ?s:

Which is the nicest one as far as rooms, resort layout, pools, etc.? I have my mom, my 16 year old DD and my 1 year old DD that will be traveling with me. So I want to be sure it's something where I'd feel comfortable with a baby in tow and yet have things for my teen to do when we're at the hotel. Yes, I know it's Disney, but some of the hotels in WDW, I would not feel right about taking a baby with me, like the GF, too posh for a little one, IMHO.

Is it worth it to pay the extra dollars for Pardise or DL Hotel for the other views? Like what do you see if you pay the extra dollars to get a lower or upper verse standard? If we're going to be seeing a parking lot I wouldn't want to kick in the extra $$.

What about getting to and from the parks, which is a good one? We'll be going to both parks. If there's walking how long are the walks? Also I'll be dealing with a stroller and want to be sure it's easy to get back and forth.

I did get a response on another post and it sounds like GCH is the way to go, easy to get to and from DCA, but what about DL? Is this still the best choice? With the little one we will probably be spending the majority of our time at DL.

Again TIA for the help,
Pam

We just returned in April from checking out the new park and Downtown Disney. I was most impressed that the GC is so close to everything! We have stayed at the Paradise Pier before, but it looks so far away from the action compared to the GC! Don't get me wrong, I love the PP, but for what you are describing, with the stroller, etc. I would definetly go for the GC. You can walk right to DL, DCA and Downtown Disney. This would be great for taking nap or swim breaks, especially with your little one. Remember that DL and DCA are literally right across from one another, so the walking distance would be the same (unless you used the special entry into DCA from GC).

I would definetly stay at the GC - good luck!

One thing to consider with DGC hotel is that they offer a room that has a queen and bunkbeds and all the rooms have portable cribs.

I love the Disneyland Hotel, it is great for kids and you have the choice of monorail or walking through Downtown Disney to get to the park. Haven't tried GC though... I may get spoiled! I would miss the koi ponds, the streams and waterfalls... and the pool at the Disneyland Hotel is really super. You can't go wrong with either one.
