I agree somthing is up with that week. We are staying at the DLH 14-17 but I wanted to add the 18th and I called and called. Nothing. i called every day and they have been booked. I got the AP7 rate at 159. a night. I have HoJos booked too for a back up ( I still need to cancel). I had a HARD time finding a hotel with a decent price for the 18th. Hojos was booked for that date and the other Harbor hotels were either booked or wanted an arm and leg. I used Priceline name your own price for that day and got the Hayatt for $65. a night.
Anyway I am sure that Friday night will be PACKED. probably the whole week!

But did you ask Reservations if the 18th was available separately, not to add onto your existing reservation? In other words, you would have to make a new reservation for the 18th, but it may be available as a solo booking, but you have to specifcally ask them for it in Central. They usually don't suggest it themselves.

Actually I wanted to chage the reservations to 10/15-10/18. I was planning on staying at HoJos that Tuesday (14th) since I already had a reseravation there at the ent. rate.

I wouldn't be surprised if DLR had each of those nights - or at least the 15th and 16th, if not the 17th, etc. - available separately, like for people who want one-night stays, but their Reservations system probably has all the blocks of days for multi-night stays booked over that period.

it says exceeds max guests..... I have 2 adults 3 kids, it will not let me book

Then just say you have 2 adults and 2 kids. This is Expedia's thing, not DLH. DLH allows 5 people per room, no matter which one you book.

Here's my thoughts. The Utah break may have something to do with it but there's another factor. The Angels baseball team (Anaheim)are in the post season playoffs (first series starts tonight), if we win we move on to the next round which plays Oct. 10th -19th. The same thing happened last year when we made the playoffs. A whole block of rooms were reserved in case the Angels continued and eventually made it into the world series. I would be interested to know if Oct. 22-30 is also booked since those are the world series dates. Disney may be holding rooms for the crowds that come to Anaheim for the playoffs.

You are not the only one! For some reason, I also thought I read December at first, then I caught on to the fact it was October mid-way through the thread!

In any case, I still think folks will cancel probably right around that 5-day before arrival point to get their refunds, so Lori may be able to catch an opening then! People always cancel!

thats ok..... I think people will cancel last minute. And I would rather have some days at hojo and then move for friday and saturday night..

I thought so too. I see the original post was edited, and I went so far as to go to the AP site and go past Oct into Dec, to check out dates in their availability calendar, so I think the month was edited.

I'm not saying it's bad to edit, I'm just saying it's good to know that we're not all losing our minds!

When I stayed at GCH in May I tried to add one more night to our stay...a friday night, like 3 weeks before we traveled. I had a package through WDTC so I called them. But she said they didn't have any rooms so she transferred me somewhere else and they found me a room. I am guessing it was straight to the hotel. I was on hold for 45 mins thinking it'd never come through but it did. So I wish you luck too! Hopefully someone will cancel soon!

I said it yesterday - you were not the only one who thought she was having a moment! I had thought the orginal post said December too, but then I went back and read the post again and saw October...so I thought I had lost my mind. But when I went back and read my very first reply, which quoted the first post, I saw the quote from the OP where it DID indeed say December!!! I am not crazy!!!

Anyway, it is no big deal at all - I still think guests will cancel and Lori will be able to get into a room on someone's cancellation. But I was really thinking I had completely zoned out and was basing all my replies on the wrong month!!! Very funny!

Anyway, in just a couple of short hours, I will be on the road to DLR, so I will be back to post on Sunday night or Monday!!!! Stay out of mischief everyone!!!

I am so darn sad. We are going to disney oct 14 -19th.... We have ap's. I have been calling disney everyday for the past month We are booked at the hojo. But would love the DL or PP HOTEL.... I thought for sure someone would cancel getting close to there trip!

I just cancelled an AP7 for Oct 17-19 at the Paradise Pier, so call now!!!! I kept calling, calling, calling to get the Grand Californian and it just opened up for my dates today at the AP7 rate. Keep trying

Great news!
I decided to call again today and they said no no no !! But I decided not to take the no, the lady I originally talked to sounded confused!!
I recalled and a guy answered and asked"how can I make your dream come true!" - I told him my dates and find an ap7 rate!!!! Well guess what I got AP7 for The Grand CALIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOO HOOOOOOO I got it for the 16-19th!!!! My hubby flies in the 16th so the kids and I will stay the first 2 days at the hojo!! WOOO HOOO!!!!!
