We're planning our first trip to DL and are hoping to go the last week in Sept 2010. Will the halloween decor be up already? Will they have the special parties and firework shows also? (WDW has all of theirs up thru Sept and Oct)Also, is the weather nice during this time of year, the kids love to swim during our trips? party:

We were there last year the last week of Sept, and yes the Halloween decor was up. Weather wise, we got a mixed bag. We started off some mornings chili, needed sweatshirts. Most afternoons got warm. People were swimming, but we didn't. The year before were at DL the first week of October and had a heat wave come through. That was HOT! Last year was just right we thought, not hot, not cold.
Not sure about the parties, I think they had one the Friday that last week of Sept, but we didn't go to it.
We did see the Halloween fireworks, they did them everynight during the season at like 8:00pm. They were AWESOME! You MUST watch from in front of the castle at least once!
They also had transformed Space Mtn into Ghost Galaxy for the season and Haunted Mansion of course. We have had a great time at DL during Halloween time, we love it.:goodvibes

Oh, I wanted to add, that I just remembered we went on Grizzly River a couple days and got soaked (rode it over and over) and we were fine, so it must have been pretty warm, because I'm a wimp about being cold! Not as hot as the year before, but warm enough to be in the water without freezing.

Unless there is a change in how DLR normally does things, the official start of Halloweentime this year (meaning Haunted Mansion Holiday, Halloween fireworks and any other Halloween-related attractions except the TOTP) will be the last Friday in September, which will be 9/24. The TOTP will start on the following Friday, which is 10/1 (it's always the first Friday in October).

This thread (link below), Halloween at DL, is our one-stop shop for all things Halloween, including photos of decor, food, merchandise, PhotoPass borders, special Villains photo ops, TOTP stuff and plenty of information on dates and things like that. Come take a look!:

Oh, and October is usually quite hot. In 2008, it was up in the mid-90's, and last year was not much better. It is also very dry.

Thanks for all the advice and great link to more Halloween info! Can't wait for our trip!I didn't realize SM got an overhaul too, the kids will LOVE it! :yay:
