DL food choices! OMG!

I am bummed out. I just checked the BB menu and they no longer have the prime rib. Tommorrowland Terrace no longer has the tasty fried chicken pieces. And to top it off for a quick cheap meal that was big enough to share w/ my son and DH, the Stagedoor cafe no longer has the large chicken breast strips, only cruddy nuggets now. :headache: :sad2: What's up with their food choices at DL?
Everywhere has the cruddy chicken nuggets, and now the only way to get the fried chicken is to go to Plaza Inn and pay twice as much as it cost at TT! This trip is somewhat of a budget trip for us due to economy, jobs, business is down, 401k has lost $200,000 in the last 2 months, paying for college for DS and we were looking forward to our favorite CS eating places that used to sell somewhat decent food and maybe doing one BB and 1 GK meal. But there's nothing on the BB menu that appeals to me -- I don't like cajun and I don't like blackened anything.:scared:
Can we do BB just for the desserts? Are they worth it? Last time I was so full after my meal, I couldn't order dessert.
Sad...:sad1:

I eat at River terrace all the time and its about $15 for the Chicken dinner but you get a full half a chicken in that. We share with two of us and still never finish a half chicken.

Im sorry you cant get the things you wanted and really I think BB is so over rated for the price. If its a budget trip Id suggest as you said get dessert and eat somewhere less expensive.

Whitewater Snacks has good deals compared to the rest of the park, IMO. We were able to split things there and still be full.

The Plaza Inn has a wonderful fried chicken meal that is huge. They also have very nice side salads made with real greens not iceberg lettuce. I am sorry some of your favorites have been cut out, that stinks! I know when Blue Ribbon took away the strawberry shortcake, I was so bummed.

Not sure about BB and dessert only. You used to be able to, but I haven't been there in almost a year now.

I'm sad that the French Market no longer has beef stew in a bread bowl. My husband is sad they don't have the fried chicken anymore.

I just hope that the Pizza Port still has chicken fuseli. And the Pacific Wharf still has brocolli cheese soup in a bread bowl. Fingers crossed.

We just got back...here are some answers.

Yes, you can order just dessert at Blue Bayou. The Flying Dutchman is delicious!

Yes, Pizza Port has the Chicken Fusili.

Yes, Pacific Wharf has Broccoli Cheese Soup in a bread bowl.

My son loved the kid's chicken strips at Whitewater Snacks. We had never eaten there before (even when we stayed at GC! lol) Their food is good. We ate there twice. It is quiet and easy to access.

I know you have your favorites, but maybe you will try new things and find new favorites?

The Farmer's Market in CA also has a kids chicken nugget meal....there were big pieces of breast and I tried a bite and they were very tender and delicious too.

What I found really interesting on my recent trip to disneyland is that all the restaurants have their menus out front but there are no prices listed! Are they doing that so they can raise the prices anytime they want to without having to make new signs?

I too can confirm that as of last week you can get just dessert @ BB, the kids and I split the Flying Dutchman & my mom & grandma split the Creme Brulee, we each got a water to drink and yes Chicken Fusilli is available @ Pizza Port.

It's a bummer when fave foods are gone! Wanted to add that the chicken nachos at WWS were HUGE and actually not that great. I was disappointed. The cheese sauce was beyond gross. The other things I have had there were much better.

Food likes are so personal!

We had the nachos without the meat, and they had a combo of cheese sauce and normal cheese. They were huge, filling, and GOOD! Oh I love their salsa!

No Prime Rib at BB is so disappointing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. So disappointing...:sad2: They're getting cheap on us...and the other sad thing is it's not cheap to eat at BB! I think I'll pass and go just for dessert if anything...Sad...

Thank you all for your suggestions. I'll try to find WW snacks. Where are they located in GCH? What are their hours?
