I tried searching but didn't find the answer...

I called MS this morning to buy a DL AP. She told me they didn't sell them since DL is in California. I mentioned that there is a DVC discount so I assumed they could sell them. She said no. Is she right? If she is right who do I phone to purchase a DL AP with the DVC discount?

I've only purchased it onsite at DL so perhaps she is correct. You just have to show your DVC card to get the discount. Have you tried calling the DL passholder line?

I don't know any DL numbers so I haven't tried the passholder line. I was trying to talk myself into the premier pass (both parks) so maybe I'll just wait until I get there. I just wanted to avoid the increase incase I changed my mind.

The premier can only be bought at the parks.

If you upgrade to it from a DL AP, you will only get credit for *what you paid*. At DL, there is absolutely no point to find discounts, if you're upgrading a ticket or AP, as they do not "bridge" the price like WDW does. You lose the discount when upgrading.

You have to be there to get the DVC AP. But again, if you're upgrading from that to the Premiere, you'll pay the full cost of the Premiere ultimately, so there's no point for a discount...

Doesn't seem you'll be able to get it ahead of time to beat any price increases.

Just an FYI you have to already have an AP for either park that was purchased prior to the Premier Pass being offered in order to upgrade your current pass. For me it wasn't cost effective to upgrade because I had a DL AP purchased last September and the Upgrade would expire on the date my DL AP is set to expire in Sept. not the date I was visiting WDW in May. I would have paid almost as much for the upgrade as I did to purchase a brand new WDW AP that doesn't expire until next May so I'm covered for any trips I take to WDW between now & then. Since I didn't have plans to visit DL until possibly next spring or summer I just got the WDW AP. I'll deal with the Premier Pass issue next year since I'm covered for my current plans with the pass I have. If I do go to DL in the spring I will probably just purchase a 3 day ticket and wait until my summer trip to get the Premier one. There are no DVC discounts for that pass at the present time.

Nope, no AP's this year for either park. I'm planning a WDW trip for Feb and will likely get back to DL again before the end of December next year so it makes sense to have the Premier even though it will likely come out about even on what I would spend on tickets. Those that know me and my Disney addiction have pointed out that I will likely be back at WDW before the AP year is up anyway so I will likely take the premier plunge. Between this and fighting addonitis I need another job :lmao:
