DJ or Band - how long did they play?

We had a DJ at ADH. Our ceremony was at 9:00am in Epcot and our prereception was from 10:00 to 11:00 and our reception was from 11:00 to 3:00. Our DJ played from 10:00 to 3:00. We had DJ Scooter and he was great. He really ran the whole reception and got everyone up and dancing all day.

A Disney DJ costs $1,500+. I don't know how much they charge for non-Disney DJs, but I know that DFTW will charge a premium for you to use an outside vendor.

Also, Non-Disney DJs are not allowed for theme park events. For our in-park reception, we must book a Disney DJ and that happens to be our preference anyway. This could limit families who have a DJ they want to use.

I hope they are able to play for 4+ hours. My family and friends LOVE to dance! :cheer2:

I am having a DJ at the Whitehall Room(in Nov.) and am being charged $1035 for 3 hours, 7pm to 10pm. We aren't having any music at the cocktail hour(6pm-7pm)

I think Desnik will be using a Disney DJ. That price would be right... otherwise an outside DJ would only be charging less than $100. $900 to $950 is the correct range that they will charge for using a non-Disney approved DJ.

I personally have played ALL time frames: 3 hours, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5.. etc etc. Disney will simply charge you for the hours that you want the DJ to play. Remember, too, a DJ will also not take any breaks during the evening, you will have continuous music throughout.

Hope this helps!
