DJ for DFTW

Hey everyone!

This is my first post on here. I am getting married on May 31, 2008 at the Wedding Pavilion/Grand Floridian.

Our wedding coordinator is Diane Bowen and she has been really great to work with so far. She returns e-mails within a day and has been a great help.

Diane e-mailed us today and told us that she had requested DJ Frankie C for our wedding. Has anyone worked with him before? I looked at his website which looks nice, but wanted to get your feedback.

I haven't had my wedding yet but I have heard good reviews on him! Hopefully someone will have some first hand experience. I am surprise that you got assigned a DJ so soon. Usually you only find out a few weeks before! I hope Disney is finally realizing that brides need to know these things before then!

I had Frankie C....he did an ok job. I had to burn any disney music that I wanted. I also had specific requests (which I believe he thought was odd) for my cake cutting. They played the electrical parade when we entered which was fine and he had and then played the Mickey Mouse Club theme when they entered. I asked about that he kept saying they did something special.

My issues were that during dinner he did not really play the cds that I asked for-he sort of did and the we were ready to dance and he took forever to play DANCE Music - it was all Jimmy Buffet, which I like but come on this is a wedding reception. 2. I was REALLY annoyed that I specificly had a song on my do not play list that my brother in law requested and then proceeded to try to bribe him with $100 to play, he did not play the song but let me know that it cost him a lot of money not to play the song. I was a little miffed and felt that was unprofessional.

i am sorry to hear your experience with frankie. i also had him and we enjoyed him as a dj. i do agree that he did not play the right song for the ca cutting and he did play some "do not plays" if you get him i thik you will have a great time he interacts real well with the guests and he did some cool song games and such. but make sure to tell your planner to remind him of your requests!! i think it will help. dont let it worry you no one else will notice hehe

one more thing. my planner when he was picked for me said it is one of her favorites. so i am sure they know what they are talking about.

I'm getting in march at the Swan and Dolphin resort! Our DJ is Joe Magic with orlando event pro's. He's amazing! He can really connect with people, and has a fabulous portfolio. I would suggest going to his webpage at orlandoeventpros.com and look around the site for more info!

If you book an outside DJ Disney will charge a $1200 fee so I don't think that is an option for DFTW brides.
