We chose this dinner because my dd just loves horses. Overall the experience was very nice with just a few annoyances.

When you go through the line to check in they ask if you want to buy drinks for the pre-show. You must decide right then and there. If you decide to buy drinks once inside it will cost $2.00 more. Dh and I thought that was totally a scam and very lame. After this they pretty much force you through the picture area and these will cost $20.00 should you decide to buy them. After this they funnel you through the gift shop-only way to get in. So all this merchandising was a real turn off to us considering what we had already paid for tickets.

Then there is the pre-show. Everything here will cost you more and is not included. Popcorn and peanuts but they will cost you. Very expensive drink choices as well. The pre-show was okay but really just a way to make more money. It is the Australian Cowboy and he did an okay job but we were not that into it.

So up to this point we were less then impressed.

Then came the show.

Dd was picked to be part of the chicken chase and she was very excited. Our waiter was vey friendly and my glass was never less then half filled. He took care of my dh's vegetarian request even though the reservationist had not put it into our file. The food was plentiful and the show was very entertaining. Dd did actually chase chickens and she and her little partner won and got a wonderful medal. It was like a real medal-not plastic so she thought it was great. I was thrown a carnation by one of the Northern horsemen and that was sweet.

It was a much older crowd with only a handful of children in attendance. It was a fun show once we got past all of the pre-show commercialism.

For those interested the food that we received was: vegetable soup-just delicious, a small whole chicken (very juicy) , a piece of pork (a tad bit dry), a roasted potato (a bit spicy for my tastes) a yummy biscuit, small corn on the cob, an apple turnover and as much Pepsi or unsweetened iced tea as you wanted. There is no silverware used here but they give you a nice warm wet cloth at the end of the meal (dh did get silverware for his veggie lasagna meal).

Thanks for that.I had wanted to read a real persons ( as opposed to a professional)review on this show.

The marketing stuff does get you down at times when it's as obvious as this!

I wanted to go last October but it was closed to get ready for the Holiday show:( I just might go this October:earseek:

Thanks again, glad you enjoyed the show::yes::
