Dixie Landings!!!

I'm wearing my Dixie Landings t-shirt today. It has Donald fishing on the front. I can't tell you how often people ask me where I got my shirt and how they can get one. Sorry...it's just a very old shirt. I love it and won't give it up!

That's cool! I actually have a Dixie Landings shot glass!!

I still call it Dixie landings and we have fond memories of two great family trips there before the name change..I get tired of "politically correct" at times...

I still call it Dixie Landings too! Or, when I want to be snarky, TRFKADL (The resort formerly known as Dixie Landings). It was the ONLY place I stayed for my first five or so visits.

I remember the first time I went to WDW (when I was about 18), my mom had booked us into a "Quality Inn" on 192 (which I'm pretty sure has since changed ownership) which was a total dump. She was panicking about what we were going to do, since it was clear that we could not stay at that "hotel". So, I borrowed a quarter, went to a pay phone in the lobby, dialed Disney (as a Disney Magazine subscriber, I already knew the number) and explained our situation to a very nice CM who booked us in for same-day arrival at the just-opened Dixie Landings. (I have to give credit to my mom for trusting me on this.)

We arrived there, and the difference couldn't have been starker. It was like we had died and gone to heaven. The immersive theming was just incredible. We had the best time, and Dixie Landings will always be a special place for me because of that first trip.
