We booked the Majic last summer before the it went into dry-dock. Now that the ESPN Skybox is gone, I understand Diversions is now the "sports place" to watch games and such. Are kids alowed in Diversions (12 & 16), or is this an adults only area? They would love to watch some baseball games there as well as the Olympics.

::yes::

I'm not sure of the age limit but here is some info I found describing it. - Mike

Diversions - A place for adult cruisers to enjoy a cocktail, play games and even enjoy a televised sporting event on one of the many large screen TV's. This friendly 'pub like' atmosphere comes complete with comfortable seating and tabletop board games that invite cruisers to kick-back and have some fun.

I was on the magic right after dry dock & went to Diversions. I never went to the ESPN skybox - but Diversions had tall pub tables with backgammon/chess/checkers on them. They also had putting greens for practice and many TV's - but to me it wasn't a "sports bar" as many people no it . It was pretty mellow when I went, but maybe I didn't go at the right time of day. I thought it was nice, I didn't see any children even older teen in there, but I'm sure someone else knows that answer for sure.

Hope that helps,,,,have a magical trip!:tongue:

My DH and DS-9 played chess in Diversions one day while we were at sea during our February cruise. There was no problem with my DS being in there. I think children under 18 aren't allowed in the bars after 9:00 pm. So, your kids should be able to watch sports during the day in Diversions.

Children are allowed - Our DD (5) went in - Not sure till what time - Maybe 9 or 10PM?

My DH was crushed to hear that ESPN skybox was gone. He loves ESPN Zone. So this is a big deal for him. Is Diversions a true sports bar? Are there big screen tvs? Will he be able to watch baseball and hockey will enroute?

Thanks for any input you all have!

My DH is a HUGE sports nut. He loved Diversions. There are screens of all sizes positioned where you can watch a game no matter where you're seated.

The seating is very comfortable, and the decor is outstanding. Disney did a fabulous job in remodeling this area. You're not going to believe it's the same space.

I do have our Navigator from the January cruise, and it states that Beat Street (where the lounges are located) is adults only after 9:00pm.

thank you everyone for your info. If I miss any Met games, they will end up in last place you know. :hyper:

LOL!! My DH is helping you out here, he has all kinds of superstitions pertaining to the Mets! Too lengthy to go into here, but he will be watching the Mets from Diversions in 9 days if that helps them!

My understanding for the May 8th cruise, they will only be showing Chicago Cubs games. LOL (Its hard being a Cubs fan). - Mike
