Your room was ready, in a great location AND an upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!! :wizard: :yay:

I LOVE the pool view at AKL, it's so beautiful looking out over the "watering hole" and the lush greenery all around...:cloud9:

So Charles loved the AKL pillows too, eh? Maybe a little too much...? :sad2:

The pool view was gorgeous! I loved taking my book out on the balcony and just reading. Some mornings, I would take my coffee out there and watch the ducks swimming.

You shall see...:rolleyes1

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I found myself humming this all afternoon.

Gee whiz, I was just about to send him over here to play, then I see this!:rotfl2:

Yes, Shocker brought his old LPs over to play. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Congrats on the room upgrade, that is so exciting! Looks like your trip started off great.

It was! It was! :yay:

Hi Jackie-

Great TR so far. Can't wait to read the rest of it.

I'm really kicking myself now for not sticking to your PreTR. I read it until about Christmas time - gotta love those elves. Then I found myself obsessing too much on TGM to have time to keep up with TR & PreTR over here. If I had read yours a little more closely, I would have realized we were in WDW the EXACT same dates. I'm curious to see how your week ended up laying out. I guess I know now where you ate your last night. :)

Oh - love the story of Charles in the car!

And - my dad sounds just like yours. We ran into some ominous clouds driving home after visiting them one day. I got dad on the phone and he pulled up weather.com. I totally get the green, yellow, and red rain. The red stuff is the super freaky stuff! :scared1:

Carissa

 MeMom did tell them I was coming beforehand. ;)

Yeah, that upgrade stuff...that was all me! :goodvibes

I loved The Partridge Family! I was a little surprised later in years to find out the many revelations Danny shared about what was going on in the trailers between scenes. I was also amazed at how much little brother, Chris, changed from one season to the next. First he's a skinny dark-haired kid, and then he comes back after the summer break as a bit huskier and blonde. Amazing!

Thanks for the trip back in time just at the sight of that album cover. :)

I saw him pulling his wagon as he headed your way.:lmao:

He hasn't unloaded the rest of the wagon...no telling what he brought over. :scared::laughing:

:welcome: Carissa! That's too funny that we were there the exact same dates -- it will be fun to see where we ended up! If you were using TGM, we very well could have been in the same parks several times! How was the Poly? I bet it was magical to stay on the monorail! :goodvibes

Nope, we do not like "red" rain at our house. :scared:

Yeah, that upgrade stuff...that was all me! :goodvibes

I knew it! Thanks, MeMom!

I don't think I knew about the trailer stuff -- I don't think I want to know either. Don't ruin my illusions, MeMom! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Wow great upgrade!! Isn't it awesome being on the lobby floor?? We were lobby floor last August but on the other side (first room past the DCL kiosk!) It was great!

This time not so much, I'm almost up to that in my TR!

Oh what a great suprirse the upgrade !!! And what a beautiful view!! Of course! Great shot! I enjoyed seeing your first few lobby pics, and I know more are to come! How fun to get settled in the excitement you must have felt! Great post! Glad you guys got settled in so easily!! :goodvibes

I would really like to stay there at some point, too. I will add it to my list! :thumbsup2

Here you are Jackie! I knew you were back a little while ago and had to come track you down. What a great start so far. My dh annoys me in the car when we drive longer than an hour. ;) You're one superhero for driving the whole way! I'm interested in knowing if you liked TGM and if it worked for you. I'm planning on using him for our first trip this December.

Please forgive me for butting in but I just wanted to say that TGM rocks! I used his advice for our first trip last year and we never waited in long lines and got to see/do everything we wanted while we were there.

The Poly was awesome! I kept finding myself saying "I love the Poly!" It was so handy being on the monorail. We just wheeled our stroller on and off with such ease. It's a really pretty resort, too. But I think quite a few of the Disney resorts look super pretty. Our DD2 kept repeating "Aloha" with a funny little accent. She still does it from time to time. Both girls keep asking when we get to go back to the hotel. I think they're bummed we don't live at the Poly...and I kind of am, too.

Look at that awesome view you got!!! Pixie dust already! :woohoo:
We absolutely loved the inside of AKL, got a few pics in front of their Christmas tree. We wandered around a little outside, but it is so beautiful, I can't wait to see more of it! I can't remember, did you have any ADR's for any of the restaurants at AKL?

Hey, I am more technologically savvy than that!

I brought my collection of 8 track tapes!

8tracks.jpg

This just made me laugh out loud today. There's some decent stuff in there!

I always remember that my grandparents had this 8 track player down in the basement where my cousins and I would play. Most of it was Frank Sinatra and italian style music, but there was this one cd that had the song from Smokey and the Bandit on it. We'd listen to that entire 8 track just to hear that song. Too funny!

Congrats on the upgrade Jackie!!!! THAT IS AWESOME!!!! I am glad my wish for some extra pixie dust for you all came true!!!!! I can't wait to hear about the next adventure!!!!
