Divas, Zebra Domes, and Pixie Dust! A Week in an African Paradise! New TR Link Pg.145

I saw the same rainbow from EPCOT. It was beautiful!

I know this may be a little too late and also I am sure I may get flamed for saying this but a little dirty secret I learned is that on the dining plan your snack and CS meals just show up as general snacks and CS meals. They do not differentiate between adults and children like the TS meals do. Meaning you can order an adult meal for your 9 year old at a CS restaurant. We did this several times when ours wanted hotdogs and they only had hotdogs on the adults side. As a matter of fact it was a CM at the backlot express who showed me this neat feature when I asked if I could get a hotdog meal for my daughter on the plan. He said he would just get me an adult HD meal. I said I didn't want to use an adult credit and he told me it just showed him a number and didn't specify adults or children. This was October 2008.

Thanks for the warm welcome!:goodvibes

The Poly? I bet that was a wonderful stay!!! Has the dreaded Disney Depression hit you yet?

OH yes, the depression has hit today. Even my dd, 6, fell on top of me today on the couch and lamented "mommy, can we just go back to Disney now?" That's my girl!:goodvibes I'm a teacher too (2nd grade) so I am just glad that we have the rest of the summer to play. My poor DH has to go back to work tomorrow. He is not looking forward to it at all!

Connor had wanted to eat at El Pirata y el Perico, but it had closed at 4:00 so we had two choices: Pecos Bill's or Columbia Harbor House. Connor wanted Pecos Bill's, but Chelsea and I wanted to try Columbia Harbor House. I have always read great things about it and really wanted to give it a whirl. Off we went to Liberty Square.

Did anyone else notice, that again Connor's choice is just pushed aside??? I mean, he gave in and let the Mickey Ears win out over Darth Vader, but now he can't even choose where you get to eat??? Though from reading the above......it didn't sound like it was Chelsea that was applying the pressure this time?? :rolleyes1 I should also point out at this point that you not only made him eat where YOU wanted, but then you added salt to the wound by ordering something that would cause him to have a spell........POOR CONNOR, indeed!!!!!!!!!

I grew up on the coast -- I will eat anything that ever swam in the ocean. Being Southern, I prefer that it is deep fried with a side of cole slaw and hush puppies. Heaven! Where Connor has developed his dislike of the way fish smells is beyond me since Charles is also a big fan of seafood. I can't blame his daddy for that one. It is also unfathomable to me because Connor loves fish sticks which, in my opinion, are just nasty. Breaded pieces of minced fish meat. Yick! :scared:

Nothing to add to this, just wanted to see that line in larger PRINT!!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Me: I am not going to choose my dinner by your likes and dislikes, Connor.

Connor has moved from simply covering his mouth and nose to dry retching. Dry retching! In a restaurant!

Ummmmm, you order what you know he doesn't like then find yourself surprised at any reaction that he may throw your way?? :confused3

I know my defense of the guys on this trip has come a little late, but please tell Connor it wasn't on purpose and I am here now!!!

CP, it does sound like the three of you had a wonderful evening at MK, while Charles had some down time...........well some of Connor's evening wasn't the bestest ever, but he survived and I am sure after he recovered from his dry retching spell, he was all good!!! Loved the rainbow........sort of Magical too, if you ask me!!

:welcome: I am so glad you decided to post -- I hope you will continue doing so! I am the opposite -- I am quiet and shy in real life, but pretty outspoken here.

The Poly? I bet that was a wonderful stay!!! Has the dreaded Disney Depression hit you yet?

I actually instituted a rule on this trip that we weren't going to force anyone to ride anything they didn't want to ride. Chelsea was the one who was constantly beseeching Connor to ride things he didn't want to ride. By the end of the week, they were striking bargains with each other.

Sort of a Dr. Jackie/Mrs. Hyde, are you? :)
That's me. I'm way over on the reserved scale out here in Real World, unless I'm in my comfort zone, and then I'm semi-normal. In all things Disney behind a keyboard, I just become stupid!

I bet depression from a long Poly stay does hit hard!

I hope we get to hear some of the wonderful brother/sister conversations.
Too cute!

Just wanted to join in on welcoming you to the DIS, at least as far as posting goes. The more people who join in, the more fun it is!

I've been a third-grade teacher for many years, but I'm moving to second this year. I know they will seem like babies to me on Day One!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

I know my defense of the guys on this trip has come a little late, but please tell Connor it wasn't on purpose and I am here now!!!

See, we just got reminded that as sweet as Connor is, he is.....

one of them!!!

We only have him for a short time more, and then he's going to be one of those eye-rolling, mood-altering, smart-aleck, aggravating MEN!

Whom we all love dearly, of course.
Couldn't live without them, but they do make things um, challenging sometimes. :upsidedow
Fun, but challenging.
Sometimes fun, but challenging.

You girls know exactly what I mean.
You guys now hate me, right? ;)

Going to stop talking now, before Blesseddaddy doesn't want to be my friend any more. :flower3:

I saw the same rainbow from EPCOT. It was beautiful!

I don't even think it rained at Magic Kingdom -- if it did, it was short and while we were on POTC. So, we got the added bonus of seeing the rainbow without the rain.

I wondered about that everytime I looked at a receipt and it just had a total number of CS listed. I was too scared to try it though -- I am such a rule follower.

Thanks for the warm welcome!:goodvibes

You are raising that girl right! Isn't it nice to be able to enjoy the summer now? I love not having to rush around every morning!

:lmao: I wondered where you were hiding! Somehow I knew you would jump all over the fact that we dragged Connor to MK and then didn't let him decide where to eat. Don't worry -- he got to make plenty of decisions as the trip went on.

We did have a great time at MK -- retching and all. If this had been a one time thing I might have felt sorry for Connor, but he is so melodramatic that one never knows how much of it is real and how much of it is his natural acting abilities being used to emphasize his point.

Sort of a Dr. Jackie/Mrs. Hyde, are you? :)

Yes, once I get to know people and feel comfortable, I am pretty goofy, but before that I am super quiet.

Oh, I am sure those sister/brother conversations will creep in.

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Don't remind me that Connor has to grow up! Can he just be like Peter Pan and stay young forever???

I really need to try those Zebra Domes! :thumbsup2

Yes, you do! :goodvibes

Wow, are you one popular lady! All those replies! I had to weed my way through them to get to your update!:lmao: It just goes to show you that your TR's are good!:goodvibes I really want to get some of those lucious Zebra Domes, but I don't think we're planning on going to AKL this time.:confused3 Do you know if there is another place that they are sold?? If not, I just may have to sneak over there on my own and stock up on some!

What a fun update! Poor Connor - I agree with him, they probably need to re-vamp the kid's menu for the Dining Plan. It would get pretty monotonous after a while to eat PB&J and Mac and Cheese all week :goodvibes

I am off to post some new pics of the baby! TT you later!

Great update, Jackie!

Thanks for the pics of the zebra domes. I've been very curious about them. What are they made of?
Carissa

I think zebra domes are much like meadow muffins but instead of cattle they are made by zebras! :rotfl2:

I loved the MK update!!!! What a great way to start out the trip!!! You three sure must have had FUN!!! I hope you told Mr. Diva all about the fun when you got back to your room!!! ;) Thanks for the sweet little pic of the Zebra Domes---I'm drooling as I type!!! YUM!!!!

BTW---you know how you shouldn't eat spicy or greasy foods when you have a bad stomachache????? WELL, you shouldn't look at AMAZING pics of AKL provided by good friends when you have a BAD case of resortitis!!!! NO INDEED!!!! :(

Ummmmm, I am a MAN and therefore I don't know exactly what you mean. If you have time, could you explain it a little clearer before I make the decision of hating you?? I mean that is a big step, since most of us men don't really hate anybody, we prefer to just have some alone time, to let things settle down a bit before we find out what we did wrong.

Oh Memom, know you will always be my friend........I think YOU ROCK.....and will continue to think that......until you tell me what you meant in terms that A MAN can understand?? :rotfl2:

Are you saying that blesseddaddy is an eye-rolling, mood-altering, smart-aleck, aggravating man? He must be as you did not excuse any men from this stereotypical statement! And you must be including me as well.

Hey, wigd, am I one of these guys? :confused3

I think maybe the stop came a little too late......

Forgive me, guys! I love men!
I think you are sweet and funny and crazy and lovable and handsome and all things good. I promise!

If you'll forget I said bad men things, I'll try my best to forget you said this:

I think zebra domes are much like meadow muffins but instead of cattle they are made by zebras! :rotfl2:

CP, come and rescue me with some African Paradise stuff, please!!!!

Now wait just a gosh dern minute here!! I didn't say that......so, it's no fair to toss me in the same boat as Shocker!!! Besides you know down here, we don't call them meadow muffins!!! :rotfl2::lmao: Them folks from the Midwest, what ya going do with 'em??? :rotfl:

Even with that said..........I wasn't upset at all......was I suppose to be?? I was still trying to figure out exactly what you meant???? Were you saying "BAD" men things??? :confused3 I sure do wish Charles would turn down the tube a bit, so I could hear and try to keep up!!!! :rolleyes1

However, an update from CP would surely make us all move on, wouldn't it MeMom??? :thumbsup2
