Was your Thursday happy? :teeth:

Not so bad. No hot computer techs, but we do have another date this Saturday :rolleyes1 How did the braces go???

It's hot here. 90 degrees currently. I am not liking it at all, and this is just the beginning. I want to go back to the beach. :( :sad2:

It is so nowhere near that hot here. I know you'll be shocked, but I almost wish it was that hot here right now. I think I may have frostbite in my feet :scared1:

:wave2:

I googled and found out who went home on Idol. Pretty shocking !

Who was it :hyper: (that smiley always reminds me of my friend Wendell :rolleyes1)

Hello Miss Melody!! :goodvibes

I googled and found out who went home on Idol. Pretty shocking !
I did too. Not happy at all. I am done with that show.

Not so bad. No hot computer techs, but we do have another date this Saturday :rolleyes1 How did the braces go???

No braces yet, just more spacers on the bottom. Her teeth are hurting her now. Actual braces will go on later this month.

Wanna trade??

Who was it :hyper: (that smiley always reminds me of my friend Wendell :rolleyes1)
I was thinking of Wendell today. Where the heck has she been??
Come out, come out, where ever you are, Wendell! We miss you.
(and I just realized I've been spelling her name Wendall all this time.....heehee)

Morning all!

Jen that is a great story about the reg! Glad you didn't get a ticket!! Guess it helps to be a "hot chick" ;) I wasn't so lucky last year. I got my first ever ticket and the guy didn't even consider giving me a warning. I was so mad. I had stopped at a corner and was making a right turn on a red and he said I didn't stop and I KNOW I did. He gave me the ticket anyway without even a warning and I had NEVER had a ticket in my life and I STOPPED anyway. By the time I did the traffic school and everything it cost me over 400 bucks. I was so ticked and I should have gone to court and challenged it but live and learn I guess. Glad you had a better experience and like I said it helps to be cute!! ;)
Kelly~ That is crazy! What a jerky cop. I have been pulled over several times and can usually get away with whatever I am doing by playing dumb or lost. :rotfl: I haven't had a ticket since I was about 18.
It sounds like it is a pretty sad time over in your neck of the woods. I hope everything gets better and happier soon.

Bonus! :thumbsup2 And like Kelly said, it helps you are a total hottie too! ;) lol
oh jeez :upsidedow
Hi Melody!!! :cutie:

So glad tomorrow is Friday! I have another race this weekend and my son has two baseball games, but other than that I hope the weekend is pretty relaxing. A girl can dream, right?

Morning everyone!

Jen yeah LOL I think now with our state's budget the way it is they are just trying to make their quotas and they are giving out tickets right and left! It's crazy! Luckily yours was for something fixable!! But like I said you are a hot chica too so I think you are luckier than I in that dept LOL. Us chicks gotta use our skills when we can right!! ;)

Oh boy Trudi don't remind me!! UGH! I am not hugely superstitious but I have seemed to have a bit of a black cloud lately ANYWAY so I don't need any extra help LOL. I just hope to get through the day unscathed LOL. Almost wish I didn't have to go to work today. Given the problems I had with my computer on Wed I am almost afraid it might blow up! ;)

I won't even get IN to Idol last night LOL. I know a lot of you are disgusted. I was just shocked to say the least but I already commented on FB what I thought so I won't rehash it but it was pretty shocking!

Yesterday I had a pretty interesting convo with Katy's principal. I think I may have mentioned before that this year the districts here in our area decided to do away with all the 6th grades at the elementary levels which a LOT of parents were not happy about and the worst part in my opinion is they waited till the kids were halfway through the current year so we didn't even have a choice to move them to a different school or change things so they could go to a different jr high or on and on.

And one of my personal beefs was that HAD they stayed and gone to 6th at the elementary they would have gotten certain privileges like field trips, a graduation etc etc that now they were most likely going to be cheated out of and esp just this ONE group of 5th graders because NEXT year it will all go back to normal and the NEXT group will get all the things that the previous years 6th graders got. So I had complained and I know a few others parents had but the school seemed to think it was no big deal.

Well one of the biggest things was the 6th grade promotion. My older daughter got one and I know that Shelby will get one next year and the girls have been anticipating this ever since kindergarten. Well the school seems to think there is NOTHING wrong with giving one to the current 6th graders and just skipping over this class of 5th graders because they are NOT 6th graders. However when they move on to the middle school they will NOT get one! I asked the principal WHY he thought this was fair. I said it is not THEIR fault that they are being forced to move and he said that they "were" planning something.

Well that is a bunch of BS. I got a flier yesterday asking us to provide food for the 6th grade graduation and that the 6th graders were going to provide a "breakfast" for the 5th graders. Sorry but that is NOT the same. The 6th graders get a full on ceremony AFTER school where the parents can attend and the 5th graders get some hokey breakfast which I am sure is going to consist of some donuts and milk or oj on the last day of school DURING school where NO parents can attend and they don't get any certificates or anything. That is NOT the same! If the principal thinks that is acceptable I beg to differ!

My dh missed our older daughter's becase he was in Iraq and now he doesn't even GET to see my middle daughter have one because of this nonsense. So needless to say I am not a happy camper with this school. First the BS with the field trip and now this! All I can say is I just wish this was our last year and Shelby didn't have one more year. A lot of my friends on the PTC are really disgusted with this principal as well and some of the great mom's that have done SO much have quit out of frustration. It is just sad! :(

And the worst part is the kids are the ones who are losing out!

Anyway that is my soap box for the day LOL.

Has anyone heard from Steph? I hope she is doing well!

Hope everyone has a safe and incident free day LOL.

Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend. We have NONE for a change so I am looking forward to maybe doing something with the girls.

Take care all!!

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Good morning ladies!

I have read through most of the posts, but do not have time to respond. Just know that I am thinking about all of you. :grouphug:

Today, I am watching Luca. Then going to a Youth Diabetic Dinner tonight. Then tomorrow going to a graduation and party. After that going to a school foundation dinner. On Sunday, going to church and then I am going to a Foodie Fest in our area. Aartii Sequiera, winner of Food Network star last year is going to be doing some cooking demos. Can't wait! :cloud9:

Right now I am fighting an eye infection. Woke up this morning, with it glued shut! ;):headache: I need to be really careful around Luca and everyone.

Have a great day!

PS- Beth, I looked at all of your pictures. You looked like you had fabulous time. Your children are really growing up. Especially your oldest DD! Noelle right? She looks older than Adam in the pics. SShhh....don't tell him that!

OK..Don't flame me! :rolleyes1

Yay!! Scotty is still in! :yay:

I am sorry that James didn't make it farther. Even though I am not into his kind of music, he is extremely talented. I believe he will do well, as he is a great entertainer and seems to be a wonderful person.

Good Morning Everyone & TGIF :yay:.

Has anyone received any updates from Steph? I hope all went well and she is recovering nicely :wizard:.

Yep in San Dimas. Wow! Small world! I drive through Upland quite often. We'll have to have lunch sometime!

Sounds great to me. I could always use some extra adult conversation :thumbsup2.

Katie, I wish I could be down there to give you "5 minutes peace." I would love to an adoptive grandma to your children. Hugs to you.

I know you would Mel, that's why I love ya. You're such a thoughtful lady :hug:.

I'm knee deep in auction baskets & items and am heading into crunch time, getting them all done by 5/21! Thank you to those who donated to Parker's epilepsy walk team :) You made my day! Shameless plug here...LOL If anybody wants to donate any amount you can check out the link on my FB page or go to www.epilepsywalkoc.kintera dot ORG (spelled out at the end, but just type .org) and then click on Parkers Pirate Crew for the team :) I know everybody has organizations they support for all kinds of reasons, but this one is very special to our family and is a huge support system for us.

Jill~ It sounds like you had a great scrapbooking trip once again :thumbsup2. You deserve the break!!

It's amazing what you're doing for the Epilepsy walk and I admire you so much. I wish there was more I could do to help you out :flower3:.

I liked them all, so it would have been tough no matter who went home. I know not too many people around here like Haley, but when sings a song that fits her, it's amazing and I love her.

TGIF, ladies!!!! :cool1:  :yay:
Hope you all have a wonderful day. Any fun plans this weekend for anyone?
Ruben is leaving for a family reunion tomorrow morning in CA and taking Adam with him, so it's just going to be me and the girls home all weekend with nothing to do. Blah.

Love it!! :thumbsup2

So needless to say I am not a happy camper with this school. First the BS with the field trip and now this!
Ugh, sorry for all the crap that's going on. :sad2:

Thanks, we had a blast. :)
And yes, Noelle looks older than Adam! LOL He does not look 16 and she definitely doesn't look 14. I try to tell him he'll appreciate looking younger when he gets older but that's of little consolation to him now. :rotfl:
Enjoy your weekend. Sounds like you are booked solid, as always!!!

Love it (our family has alwasy liked the number 13 and friday 13)todays my mom's b-day and next year I will turn 40 on Friday 13th. I am already hinting at family to throw me a birthday party.
Happy birthday to your mom!!! :)
I turn 40 this year, October 24. It's a Monday. How depressing......turning 40 and a Monday.

Hi Ladies,

How is everyone? I haven't read back on the thread. :flower3: Hope you are all doing well. :) Tomorrow I am taking a day off of work and am going on a studio tour of the Disney office in Burbank and Glendale. I'm really excited because I have never been to either one. :) I can't wait!

Have fun! Let me know what kind of cool stuff you buy!

Good Morning.

I wanted to let you all know that I'm home resting today. The doctor wasn't able to get my heart rate to spike during the procedure so she wasn't able to do the ablation. I have more follow-ups in the near future and I'll keep you all posted.

Steph

Kelly--this happened to me--when I was in fifth grade the school district I was in decided to change from K-6/7-9/10-12 for elementary/junior high and high school and go to K-5, 6-8 and 9-12. So I missed out on my 6th grade festivities too--it was a bummer. Worst was we didn't get to be the "big cheeses" on campus for that last year. If there are parents upset maybe all of you need to contact the principal and insist that there be a similar "graduation" for the 5th graders?

Yeah, but think where you're gonna be the weekend before!

Me too! Don't suppose y'all wanna have lunch in Vegas?? :rolleyes1

Good morning! :goodvibes
Hi Jen! :goodvibes

Just a quick drive by hi on the last official day of the semester!!!
Whoo hoo for the last official day! At least I think that warrants a whoo hoo.

Have fun! Let me know what kind of cool stuff you buy!
I wanna know too. Rochelle always comes home with the cutest items.

Well, shoot. I'm sorry this means more follow-ups. Thanks for checking in with us. Glad to hear you are resting and doing ok.

Yeah, but think where you're gonna be the weekend before!
You are so right!!! Gosh, I cannot wait. It will be nice to be back at DL. By then it will have been exactly a year since my last visit. And it will be even better to celebrate turning 40 with some great friends!! :goodvibes

Turning 40 was not depressing. Turning 50 was not either. But 60, now that just sounds OLD !
Good Morning.

Steph

Are you on medical leave from work now? Keep resting and keep happy thoughts. Like DL !

Good evening ladies!

What a busy week. Fun, but busy. It seemed like a good idea at the time to book three days at DLR this week...but with a travel day then a long work day before my race tomorrow morning, I'm pooped! It's tough getting old.

The Whiskey Row doesn't start until 7am, so at least I get to sleep in a bit.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

...The Whiskey Row doesn't start until 7am, so at least I get to sleep in a bit...
Ugh! I spoke too soon.

My hip went out right after I picked up my race bib and shirt yesterday afternoon and the pain kept me from sleeping last night. It's way too late to try to squeeze in an hour of sleep, so now I get to do a race on zero sleep today. Yawn, I've been awake since 05:30 Friday. Looks like sleep will be my reward for finishing today. :D

The good news is that my hip is pretty much back in place so I'm able to walk around the house without pain this morning. Hopefully the 1-1/4 hour drive to the race site won't cause any issues. Wish me luck ladies!
