"Diva" Trip - "Cliff Notes" p.236 OLD THREAD!

I'm sure I'll like Tangled. My kids are just reaching the ages where they aren't as into Disney. I still remember when the twins told me they no longer wanted to dress as a princess for Halloween. :sad1: We don't buy many Disney movies anymore because they just don't watch them. :confused3 I watch them more than they do!
When we went to see this at our neighborhood theater last weekend, there was not a single child there. It was all teens and young and older men and women! It is not really geared toward younger kids, I think you and your kids would love it. It is actually kind of disturbing in that it has some pretty serious abuse issues (since my DH is a psychologist we really notice those things). Very good writing and acting. ("Frying pans, who knew?!")

Here are some of my new ones...

Those are so cute, I might need to switch from pins to these! They are definitely more fun to display. I am trying to get away from some of my addictions though....

:goodvibes Evening ladies.

I am still pretty sick, getting better, but still not 100%.

That house is very very cute.

I love that little Minnie Nerd Vinylmation. I love the Nerd line for some reason. It is so cute.

Hope all the girls traveling to visit the Mouse are all safe and sound, and have a ton of fun.

Sounds like everyone is getting ideas and plans together for Easter Baskets.

Beth, I think you had mentioned making a Kitty Litter Cake before?

Do you have a link to the recipie?

I want to make one for work on Friday. :)
Hey Sarah. I've made this one before and it's a fun cake.

Kitty Litter Cake Recipe

Cake Ingredients
1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix
1 package white sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix
A few drops green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent

Serving "Dishes and Utensils"
1 NEW cat-litter box
1 NEW cat-litter box liner
1 NEW pooper scooper

Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill.
Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs.
Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside. When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.

Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat in a microwave until soft and pliable. Shape the blunt ends into slightly curved points. Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top. Heat 5 more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the litter box. Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable and hang it over the edge of the box.
Place box on a sheet of newspaper and serve with scooper. http://adoptacatfoundation.org/kitty_litter_cake_recipe.htm

Thanks!

It is $550 a night which means if 8 of us are interested in staying there it would be $68.75 per night for each of us...not bad at all! Plus the owner posted here that since her house is getting pics and talk here if you mention the DIS when you book a stay of 4 nights or more you get a discounted rate.

Walking is reported at 20-30 minutes but I would likely find out where the closest ART stop was and do that or maybe we eill end up with a Diva or 2 that drives in so we can go in groups and split parking.

EDIT..Just read their most recent rental posting and it is now $595 a night but still not bad since it actually says it sleeps 10 but I don't know if that includes the toddler bed & crib or not.

And per a post from the owner .
There is also a $225 standard cleaning fee.

The $35 is if you want the pool heated, otherwise there is no extra charge to use it.
If they did let us stay there it only sleeps 10 and the rest would have a bit of a walk after the Meet and Greet back to their own hotels.
I can understand why it's for familes only since it's in a neighborhood.

Hi ladies!

It finallly hit 60 degrees today lol its been so dang cold so its nice to finally feel some warmth. :thumbsup2

Nothing too exciting happening around here. I did come home tonight and see that I got my easter basket exchange packages from Rochelle. It is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome and she was way too generous. What a sweetheart! Thanks Rochelle!:hug: I am heading over to the exchange thread to post my goodies.

Hope you all have a good night! :flower3:

Just a quick check in from me. Busy night here. The twin's science fair was tonight, and then I had to run some errands. I am pooped!

Sarah those are so cute!! :cutie: I like the punk rock one :)
They are cute!

LOL I was thinking this Friday would be a great day to make it.
I used this recipe, but they are all basically the same:

And here is another pic of the one I made:

Would you believe we are supposed to be up near 90 by Friday?!?! :scared1:

Beth when i glanced at that cake I was like

But i am sure it tastes good haha :rotfl:

90?! Yikes I say pull up to the AC vent and chillax

Hmmm, that's interesting. I don't know too many families who can afford to pay almost $600 a night for a place to stay, plus a heated pool fee, plus a cleaning fee. Then you still have all your vacation costs of park tickets, food, etc. :scared1:
Seems like keeping it open to renting it to groups would make more sense. :confused3 But maybe there are families out there who can pay that much...... Not mine!! LOL

Hope it works out for those wanting to stay there! :thumbsup2 This trip, I'm hoping/planning to stay at the Grand. I've yet to stay there.

I picture quite a fun meet & greet pool party there too :) That could cut down some expenses too! Its a super cute house.
It is super cute! I'd love to tour it. And a party there would be fun. Although isn't it a bit far? We'd need lots of cars or find out about the buses. Distance could be an issue.....

Well, I am half asleep already! Nighty night, ladies! :cloud9:

Thanks!

Except for the Minnie these are all blind box. I bought them on eBay. Even though I paid a few dollars more than I would have getting my AP discount at least I knew which ones I was buying so it was worth it to me.

Do you have any "trusted" sellers on eBay for these?? I took a look and some of the prices were :scared1: Sheeoot, I saw one that I have being sold for $28!!! Hmmmm, vacation fund????? J/K - I love them too much ;)

:lmao:

Yep, it's not the most appetizing looking cake around. Which is why it's good for things like Halloween, or this Friday for April Fools Day. ;) And kids love it, of course. :rotfl:
It was pretty tasty. Ruben took it into work last time I made it and they all liked it.

I refuse to turn on the AC yet. I'm trying to hold of until May at least. Once May hits, the AC gets turned on and doesn't get turned off again until October.

Did you see how many UNavailable dates there are? Way too expensive for my family but I guess not for others.
Staying at the Grand is my dream one day.

I've kind of been away from my computer a little bit lately, sorry to be so silent. Not so sure what's going on, lol. I'm usually on the DIS all day every day and until today it certainly wasn't for amazing weather or anything, lol.

But hi :wave2:

I'll have to catch up on a lot I'm sure. Nice to see my mother isn't the only one who tried did the kitty litter cake (for my sister). That was an interesting birthday weekend.

Rochele - I know I mentioned on FB that I would take photos of my Vinylmation collection sometime this week and I'm doing it tomorrow and posting 'em here. I'm probably going to scare myself silly when I see what I have all together.

Big hugs, Jessica! I hope you get through your "funk" soon.

I hope everyone has been having a great week! :goodvibes

Morning all. Hope everyone had a good night!!

I agree I think that house is adorable but it does sound a bit steep. If there are people interested I would def call and find out the details it may still work. I think when they say they don't want parties they prob mean they don't want loud parties with big messes. We prob wouldn't be able to have the meet and greet there although maybe but just a few gals staying there might work since it would be less crazy then a bunch of little kids I would think???

Anywho mom and I were finally able to get together and have lunch yesterday since she got back and catch up and then last night I enjoyed watching survivor and Idol. Boy tonight is going to be a tough one. I personally know who I would get rid of but it is def going to be interesting and I hope none of my favs go!!

The exciting news is I got a really cool e-mail from disney and they have discounted rates at the disney hotels from mid April through July 2 so I thought I would just check it out and we were able to score a few nights at the PP for our orig dates that we were going to go in June. We won't be going for nearly as long as we had planned orig and we won't be doing all the stuff we were going to do but I am just glad we are going to get to go at all!!

I SO need the break after all the BS that has gone on and I have been aching to get back there or to go anywhere for that matter so I am really excited and the kids are over the moon! We are not going to go down on Sat like we orig planned cuz the room is more expensive on a sat but we are still going to skip the girls meet that day because we usually are absolutely exhausted after a meet and to have to drive all day after a meet is not desirable. Not sure if we are going to try and see WOC or not but since we are staying on property we may try and just get fp's now instead of doing a meal.

Anyway that's my excitement for the day.

LOVE those vinlymations but I agree with whoever said I don't need another obsession. I would def go broke if I started in on those cuz they are WAY cute!

I love that Marie one! Adorable!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning ladies! :goodvibes

I have been quite busy, so have not had a chance to check in and read what is going on. I hope everyone is good. :grouphug:

I have a bunch of projects going on. I'm in the middle of making "Quiet Books" for my 2 little grandchildren who are turning one soon. They are quite labor intensive. I hope they turn out to be keepsakes.

After that, I might be making Kaitlyn's Prom dress, if we can't find one. Then..........I am way behind on getting my house in order. I still need to make curtains for our living room and a shower curtain. If I wasn't so dang picky, I could probably find something. LOL! My problem is, that I picture something in my head, and then nothing comes close to it.

Well, Luca is coming over in a bit. He's walking now. So cute! :cloud9:

Have a nice day! :flower3:

Good morning, ladies!! :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:
I am trying to overcompensate and be really peppy because I actually feel like a zombie!! Could. Not. Sleep. At. All. Last. Night. Yep, one of those nights where you are so tired you are sure you'll drift right off........and then, sure enough it's 1 a.m. and you are still wide awake. Lovely.

Oh well. Maybe I'll skip this today: :laundy: And instead do this:

The Divas in Florida right now are having crappy weather today for those who haven't seen their FB updates. Being held hostage in their hotel room under tornado watch at the moment. :sad2:
I have to say, I love WDW, but I hate Florida. :rolleyes1 Too hot, too wet, too humid, there's tornadoes, hurricanes, all sorts of creepy-crawlies, etc. Not that anyplace is perfect, but still. And I guess I am the only one who feels that way based on the number of people who move there, or want to move there.
Anyway, I hope for their sake the weather changes soon and they are able to continue having a great time! :wizard:

No, I didn't see that. It was a good idea, just crazy expensive for families. imo

I've kind of been away from my computer a little bit lately, sorry to be so silent. Not so sure what's going on, lol.
Jessica! Come on girl, get your pep back. We've missed you here.

Here's my Vinylamtion "collection"
Am I the only one who doesn't own one Vinylmation? :rolleyes1

Good to see you here. :goodvibes Have fun today with Luca.

Hey, I just realized my ticker says exactly one month until our family San Diego trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: I cannot wait to be back there. I've missed it a lot.

OKay well, time to get up and do something productive. Have a good one, ladies! :hippie:
