"Diva" Trip - "Cliff Notes" p.236 OLD THREAD!

Good morning everyone! I'm recovering from a night at one of my favorite restaurants (La Fondue in Saratoga, CA)! It was free corkage night so I had grabbed 3 bottles of some of our favorite wines to go with each course. (I thought we would save the corks and only have a glass from each one.) Well we ended up drinking all 3 bottles (there were 3 of us so basically a bottle a piece!) My hubby can hold his liquor like no one else I know but WHOA! I was feeling it! In fact I was still feeling it when I woke up a few hours later!

It was a great dinner for relaxing after a day of exhausting work on the house. Hubby was doing all sort of yard work while I continued to paint baseboards and doors and trim...

But now I need to get back on track for both our budget and trying to exercise and lose weight. It's so much easier to just go out to eat and sleep in but I want to fit into a Large instead of an XL for my Birthday trip to DL so I better get my motivation back!

Jess - hope you can get to the Tank for a game!

Paula - we love La Fondue! Always go there if we are going to a concert at Villa Montalvo. But did not know about free corkage night - I see another diner in our future!

We go to La Fondue when I get a hankering lol. I LOVE fondue and we have a fondue pot at home but I have found that by the time I buy all the ingredients that we want it is almost more cost efficient just to go to La Fondue for it!

Free corkage is actually Monday - Wednesday (except holidays)! Makes a great meal even better!

Good Morning,

My bro is on a business trip overseas. He may stay there permanently but not sure. He messaged me last night and he said that he got really sick and had a fever for a few days straight. He went to the doctor and they said he had a lymph node infection, throat infection and a tonsil infection. Then the pharmacist gave him penicillin, which he is allergic to and it caused him to almost have a heart attack and he couldn't breathe and had to go the hospital. :scared1: He is fine now but he said he also had cold sores in his mouth too. Crazy! I'm glad he is okay now. Yikes!

Rochelle - That sounds crazy. Glad to hear he's doing OK now.

I don't know what I was thinking. I went to the Disney Store today and bought another Vinylmation. I grabbed one from the new Urban 6 series. Why?! I don't like the Urbans. In fact the only U6 design that I half liked was the black zipper. Lucky, I pulled it. But I dont want to keep it. Another to add to my trade pile. Why did I even buy it in the first palce?

Way to go Government :). Laurie your news is wonderful to hear. Saddle up the horses and load the wagons.

Thank for the information to. My sister has two special needs children. The also happen to be her husbands family. His brother and a niece. They have had kids since one was 5 -he is now 40. The little girl is 18 and they have had since she was baby.

She asked me to find out information, I did not want to bother you so I looked on internet for information. Her husband was laid off work at age 60 and has been hard finding work. But wanted to share that you did/do not even have to have paid in to income tax. This is money that is "gifted to the special families that care for and love adopted needs children".

One family with 3 special needs children received 54k. I must say the information was a little tricky to find and as for understanding the rules that seems easier. Remember is has no bearing on if you paid in or worked in 2010 but you do need to file. This is on top of any earned income parents also might qualify for.

Again, grats. I know you will put the money to good use to make fun times for your family.

Patty

Thanx Kelly, Bridget & Patty!!!

I hope your sister is able to qualify!! I don't know much about it, just what I heard on the news.....so let hubby go read up on it & then took it in to the "experts" to figure out if we qualified & had the appropriate paperwork to back our claim. The adoption assistance contract from the State of Oregon listed the girls as special needs with a Title IV-E (I believe) but we also had gone through SSI & we have paperwork from them stating the girls were disabled at birth. So I think we're covered!!

This Vinylmation looks a little ummmmm, kinky. :rolleyes1

Rochelle, how scary for your brother! I'm glad he's ok.

Paula, sounds like a great dinner!

It is crazy windy here right now!! Such weird weather. One week it's super hot, and now it's low 60's with wind gusts up to 65 mph. I love it though! This is more my kind of weather. :thumbsup2

I'll be heading out later tonight to the Strip to meet Angie/BC Disney Lover for dinner. Will be nice to get out and see her again. :)

Say hi to Angie and have a big piece of cheesecake for me. Tell her not to get too crazy :scared1:

Daisy has her own spot on the DL community boards now! Well she is fully willing and able to share with all the horse crazies on the DIS... It will be so much easier for me to post a link to new pics as opposed to posting pics in all the threads where I hang my hat!

Fell free to take a look if you are interested!

Yeah, back in the day I was horrible at that. So glad we have the option now. I would go insane. Especially on AI because I really don't want to hear anyone but Casey. :rolleyes1
Me too !
This Vinylmation looks a little ummmmm, kinky. :rolleyes1

LOL, it's the zippers isn't it? Must make you wonder what's underneath, like the way you liked the loin cloth on Brandon Fraiser.:rotfl:

Have a good time with Angie. Tell her hi

I don't think that's what she's thinking :rolleyes1. I think she's thinking more on the lines of a Dominatrix and S&M (you have to think dirtier to understand the mind of Beth ;)).

It's perfect for you!!

I got another VM in the mail today thanks to a friend here on the DIS I traded with. My Villainess set is now complete:

How fun for Daisy to have her own place now. Thanks for the cute pics.

Great villainesses Jessica! I think VM is officially an obsession for you. ;)

Evening ladies.

I know I haven't been on here a great deal as of late. Without getting into too many details there has been a lot going on in my life. I have recently been diagnosed with an heart condition (I've been referred to a specialist to determine what is causing my problems). The military has decided because of this that I have to go through a medical board. This board will determine whether I'm fit for duty or not. They can decide whether I stay in, am removed or give me an early retirement. Needless to say this has been a great deal of stress (not good for my heart either).

Of course on top of that is the federal government shutdown possibility. That's a whole different set of stress issues. I really don't want to cancel our family trip to DL at the end of the month but if the budget isn't straightened out we will have to postpone it (possibly cancel it).

I hope you all are doing well. I will try to check in more often.

Steph - Sending some good thoughts your way. My aunt has been having heart problems the past few years and it's getting scary bad for us. I don't wish it on anyone and hope you're able to find whatever's causing the problems. Everything else going on definitely doesn't help at all. You're in my thoughts!

Amy - I loved Casey last night. :goodvibes I didn't end up watching anyone else though. But it was a nice pick-me-up after my Sharks BOMBED their game. Eek.

Steph - so sorry to hear that - :grouphug: please keep us posted with what you would like to share! You are in my thoughts! Take care and hope it all works out.
