Welcome back Beth. Tell us more about your trip with your honey.:lovestruc
What did you think of the new rides? I really like them both.

F! dessert seating for me for sure!:thumbsup2

I think I will skip Napa this time too. Not sure about SH55. I'm always down for the Jazz Kitchen. :)

Jessica, that's awful what the neighbors did to you. Why are some people like that?

Jodi, I would freak out about the gas, too. I usually don't wait for the light but it has happened. Good thing those fumes were long and drawn out.

Theresa, I have no clue what to wear either. At least we have lots of time to find something and I like Jen's idea of after Halloween clearance sales.

Hi Yall- my name is Joni and I would love to join this group.
I am a huge Disney lover who used to live 6 hours from WDW. I have since moved to Alaska - far, far away from WDW and I am already having withdrawls!! (Mind you, it has been 4 weeks since my last fix.) I am looking foward to exploring the West Coast and the orginial land of Mickey.

I am married to a wonderful man who tolerates my Disney obession. I have three children, Kyler, Kayla, and Kennedy. In my spare time I am planning my next trip to Disney and sewing fab clothes (all Disney themed, of course).

I will find a picture and post it later. I would love to share a room with someone at a Disney resort. How can I get the Castle shirt?

This sounds like a wonderful trip and I am so glad that I stumbled upon this thread. :goodvibes

I want to go to WDW in October!!!! Awesome!! I love their Halloween parade over there. I think we need a ladies only trip to WDW in October 2012. ;)

I second the Divas in WDW! That is my "home turf" and I could help plan that one.

We did a ladies trip to WDW back in 2006. It was the very first one Beth planned before she moved to Vegas! It was pretty fun but had so many ladies it was hard to get connected, though Beth, Shirley, January and I became friends!

Beth, please put me in Daisy's room! She has been kind enough to invite me to room with her again!

Hi all!

Hi Joni!

Welcome!!! I'm glad you stumbled upon our thread. :welcome: We love to get "newbies!" Also welcome to the West Coast. I will have to say, that moving from Georgia to Alaska is a huge change. Especially in the weather. LOL!! I hope it goes well for you and your family. :goodvibes

My name is Melody, and consider myself an "oldie." That is because I am older, and because I have been going on this trip since it began. Now I am a lifer! We do have so much fun and eat waaaay toooo much. :upsidedow It's also a really great way to make new and lasting friends. The ladies here are wonderful, and are so support of. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

I also like to sew, but I'm usually making baby blankets and aprons. I just ordered some fabric to make my granddaughter a cute little sun-suit. :cloud9:

I am in charge of the tees, so I will put you down for the castle one. This was last year's design, and some of the ladies who missed the trip still want one, so that is why we have sign ups for that also. Our new tee for next year will be in bright pink, with the Disneyland sign on it. Except it will be changed to say "DisDivaland." Woo hoo! :woohoo:

Please make your self at home here. We would love to get to know you better, and visa versa. :flower

PS- Have you ever been to DL? Us veterans love to get a hold of DL virgins!! :rotfl:

Beth, Can you please post the pic for next year's tee again. I need to show Derrick, so he can redo it a bit.

Thankyou! :goodvibes

Linda - I wish I knew. I will never understand how they were friends of our family but it's been a long time since we've seen any of them and we're so much better off! They had a very real sense of the sink or swim mentality. To them I obviously fell into the "sink" category. Oddly enough any time I got injured as a kid it was usually when I was in their care.

Joni - Welcome to the thread, it's a great place to stumble upon! You definitely should come along for next year. I was a newbie for this past years trip and all I could think afterward was "why on earth hadn't I done this sooner?!" How long have you been in Alaska now?

Pretty excited today. I'm heading out to SJ to have lunch with our Paula and my cousin lives out that way as well so I'm gonna pester her a little bit too. It's gonna be a fun day I think. Oh, one more thing ...

Happy Hump Day!

Welcome Joni!

How exciting to be a newbie to Disneyland. I think you will enjoy exploring a new park. It is different that WDW but still fun to explore!

I hope you are able to make it to the Diva trip!! :)

I am Kelly by the way and this will be my mom and I's 3rd trip. Hope to see you in February!! :)

Mel mom and I have eaten at SH55 a few times and enjoyed it so if you try that I think you will enjoy it but it truly is mostly nice steaks and then sides like potatoes and veggies and such with nice wines. We ate at Jazz Kitchen in both Dec and this past trip and really enjoyed our meals there as well and splurged this past trip with the bananas foster and it was YUM so I am def up for that one if you guys decide on that. I think mom and I are up for any of those places. Don't know if she will want to do F though. Will have to ask her.

I think we are going to wait and see what all the choices are and go from there.

At this point I am just REALLY hoping for some great deals on airfare like what we got for Nov!! ;) That will make my day and guarantee that we can go. And of course mom is hoping for a deal for the PP! :) But now that we can pay the monthly payments for the AP's that is a huge help and almost guarantees that we will be able to go now!!

Hope everyone has a great day and talk soon.

Good morning, ladies!

Sarah - I have an issue with my heart and the doctors are trying to figure out the cause so they can treat it properly.
 Thinking of you and hoping they can figure things out for you.

It really is the best way to see the show. Well, wait. I can't say that. I love my days of camping out along the edge of ROA. I have some very fond memories doing that. But I loved the dessert seating that I did for my belated birthday trip last year.
I've never done the dessert seating and probably never will. (too rich for my blood!) I love camping out. :)

Well I must have had a guardian angel looking out for me because I was able to finally get off the freeway and into the gas station (probably on fumes). Won't be doing that again!!!
How scary! I'm glad it all turned out ok.

I will not be old enough for this year's trip (I am 16) and I won't be the year after (I will be 17) but I will be old enough for the 2014 trip. I will be a senior in high school when I'm old enough.
There ya go! Something to look forward to. :thumbsup2

I'm really hoping some other ladies are into going to Napa Rose again too. I really want to do that this time :lovestruc
No Napa Rose for me. I need plain ol' comfort food. :rotfl:

Theresa, I think this year, I'm going to spend my money on a new venue, instead of Napa. Otherwise, I'd be right there with you. I've never been to Steak House 55, and I hear it's pretty good also. Or I will go back to my favorite, which is the Jazz Kitchen.
Oooooh! I loved Jazz Kitchen. I'd definitely go there. :cool1:

We had a great time! I'll post more in a bit and I have some pics to put up on FB.

Yay another vote for Jazz Kitchen.

I am thinking of doing a villain costume, or one of the characters from Haunted Mansion. Although if I can find a cheap flapper dress after Halloween maybe I'll do that. Who knows! lol

Where in Alaska do you live? I've never been, but would love to go one day!

YAY!!! Your dream of staying at the Grand is finally going to come true! :thumbsup2

Certainly. This is the last image I have of it. Here ya go. :)

That sounds good. It's still early and we have to work them all into the schedule which can get tricky. And depending on what is planned for when, that could and probably will affect who goes to what. (does that make sense?? lol)

So far though we know we want to add:
Cafe Orleans
Carnation Cafe
Napa Rose
Jazz Kitchen
Fantasmic Dessert seating
and the BBQ

plus we already have Hungry Bear and the new restaurants in DCA. Lots of eating!! lol But everyone can just sign up for the meals they want as we get closer.

"It took me years of posting with this forum host - even before I joined the DIS - to figure out how to use multi-quotes without a lot of copy and pasting". It was so annoying! I was so excited when I fured it out. Ended up making a cheat sheet with screen caps here on the DIS to help people. I only wish someone had made one when I was learning how to do it!

Test--seeing if this works

Miss Bella is a genius not to mention a great teacher. Ty for showing how to post quotes. I think I finally have it. Thank You again.

Hope everyone is having a great day so far!

We had a wonderful time on our "Mickey quickie". :goodvibes

We arrived at DL around 11 and had no problems using the tickets Theresa gave us as an anniversary present, despite them having her name on there. They didn't even check!

It was a more crowded then I'm used to, and pretty warm, but nothing we couldn't handle. First ride was the new Little Mermaid ride! Loved it!! Very cute and about darn time.

Despite the crowds we did everything I wanted to do. Rode LM, Soarin, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, ate at Cafe Orleans, grabbed a corn dog, spent some chill time down at Trader Sam's, watched the new parade, finally saw WOC. All my favorite things!!

I have to say about WOC that is was just okay for me. I liked it, but my heart belongs to Fantasmic! I could be ok if for some reason I could never see WOC again, but I'd still camp out for 3 hours waiting for F. Just my personal thoughts on the two.

We didn't go on Star Tours. I can't handle that ride, but Ruben wanted to check it out. The fast passes were gone though by the time we got over there, and the wait was 80 minutes at that point and later that night it was still 115 minutes so he skipped it. Oh well.

Other than that though we were happy with everything we did and had a great day!! We left DL around 11:30 p.m. and drove to Carlsbad. Spent all day Monday in and around San Diego, and then spent another night in Carlsbad at a different hotel, then drove home on Tuesday.

It was fun. I've got some pics to share on FB in a bit. :thumbsup2

Since I know for sure I won't be doing the Fantasmic dessert seating, but there are already several ladies interested, I was wondering if anyone would like to volunteer to be the contact person for that event?

I need someone who is going to be attending the dessert seating, is able to oversee the list of those who will be signing up, and to find out all the details involved with booking for a group.

If you are interested, please let me know. Thanks!

Today officially sucks. No going anywhere for me. The latch for the hood of my car is now mysteriously broken after my sister used my car to give hers a jump this morning. Seriously?! How does that happen?

It's vampires and then some, lol. The author who writes the books that the show is based on kind of includes everything from the supernatural world but the kitchen sink. I'm not a fan of the books but I do love the show.

what?! :scared1: The books are Ah-mazing!!! Well, the last book was not her best, but there are so many great characters that have been left out of the series....like Quinn the WereTiger....yum!

Welcome Joni! I like to sew too, but not so much clothing. I craft all sorts of stuff.

Yes for me for Jazz Kitchen. I want to try new places this year. That means I also want to eat at Hungry Bear and will pass on Napa this year.

Also a yes for F! dessert. Fingers crossed all works this time!

SF was a blast....the weather was nice and cool and we ended the day with dinner at Bubba Gumps. mmmm Shrimp!
