Oh, and Cheryl and I are sharing a room at the Grand for the Ladies Trip! :cool1: BTW- you are making me hungry! :hyper:

Jess, my siggie name has been deleted for a long time. How do I get it back?

Meet & Greeters! Fun! :stir:
I believe I will do "glam." LOL....That will be interesting. :upsidedow

Good morning, ladies!! Happy Saturday to you all.
I've got more laundry to do, then make some bread pudding which is my father-in-laws favorite. Tonight we pick up our rental car, and tomorrow morning bright and early, Ruben and I will be on the road. :car:

Have a fantastic day everyone! :)

I am really wanting to use my points and get a studio and maybe split it with a few? I can't try to book until 7 months out, so we will see.
Hi Daisy! I'm sure you could find a few to share with. I know SarahMay mentioned wanting to stay at the GCH. A few others too.
Glad your family enjoyed Cars 2. Good luck cleaning today. I know what it's like when the mess seems to take over, especially during summer with all the kids home!

Awesome M&G theme!!
Isn't it?? I love it!

I scanned back a bit and this is who I have on the purple t-shirt list:
January
Kelly
Rosemarie
Daisy
Jane
Jen
Monica

***If anyone else wants a purple castle tee please post here so Melody and/or myself can add you to the list.

Glad to hear you'll be rooming with Cheryl. Fun!! I'm going to work on the beginnings of a roommate list this morning.......

Jess, my siggie name has been deleted for a long time. How do I get it back?

I'll go grab it and repost it. I moved stuff around in my Photobucket album so anyone who linked directly from there would have a broken URL. I'd suggest saving it and uploading it to your own account in case I do another PB Spring Cleaning or something, but I always have them so I don't mind grabbing the link again ;)

I'll have it posted in a second.

I finally worked more on my TR again, lol. I keep falling into the one month between posts pit.

Can't remember which one you had in your signature Mel, but here are the two I have:

Okay, I had a bit of time while everyone was sleeping in this morning, so I put this together on the front page. It's all the information I've seen so far. Let me know if this is accurate, or if I need to make changes, take something down, add something, etc.
Thanks!! :)

**Once you have chosen your roommates and picked your hotel, please let me know and I will add that info here. Thanks!!

~Roommate and Hotel List~

~Hojo Anaheim~

~Carousel Inn and Suites~

~Other~
Kelly/kelmac284 and Rosemarie her mom at either Paradise Pier or one of the Harbor hotels

Also Carol mentioned the Hungry Bear restaurant which reminded me that early on in the thread I had said we definitely should work that into our schedule this time with the delicious new menu and all.

The question was, do we add it as our first day (Thursday) meeting spot for lunch?

OR do we add it as the ending spot for the scavenger hunt? We had talked previously about that being a nice spot to end the hunt so the team could score the papers while everyone else could kick back, mingle and grab a bite.

Everyone please weigh in with your thoughts, especially those on the hunt team. What do you think of that as an ending point? (I don't know if you already had something else in mind, or if the hunt was even going to take place in DL or DCA?)

Either way, I think it should be added somewhere. :thumbsup2

Oooh, lots of people at the Grand this year :thumbsup2

Love the M&G theme and can't wait for some "guidance" on ideas for dressing up :thumbsup2

Happy Saturday!!!

That is a lot of people at the Grand, huh? You all make it so tempting!! I'd probably be better off finding someone who wants to room with me at HOJO or the Carousel (I did love that short walk back but I love the HOJO).

Beth, I have a hunch we should save the Hungry Bear for Saturday.

Great idea Beth.:thumbsup2
They have that whole lower level that never seems to be occupied that we could all sit in and like you said grab lunch or a drink and hang out watching the ducks!

If that works for the SH team, I'll be there.

There are lots of us at the Grand this year. It's such a wonderful place to stay.

I love that we are starting to make plans, real plans.

Have a great time this weekend with Ruben Beth. ;)
Everyone else, have a great weekend too!

Beth, Like Jess said, I think we should save Hungry Bear, for the end of the hunt. I'm pretty sure that we are going to start the hunt around 9:00am and finish 12:00 or so. Could be a tad longer. Hopefully some of the ladies can grab Fastpasses during the hunt. I know that was one complaint we had, having the hunt in the morning. But after last year's heat, crowds and so on, I think that bombed. So back to the morning again. LOL.... Also we will only be sleuthing in DL this year.

Pretty soon we will start having some clues to the hunt. :ssst::tiptoe::magnify::cool2: So be alert, as there will be no announcement. You will just have to be on the ball and keep in mind who is on the committee. We might just throw something in from no where.
We haven't decided yet, what the winner gets. I have me some ideas!! :rolleyes1 Oh and one more thing.
I think we are also going to go back to arranging the teams. Unless I get mutiny. LOL.... For those of you who are new, this is how we did it in the past. First of all, we do try to place you with someone you know. Especially newbies and family, unlesss you don't care. We also strive to put you with someone who has about the same pace as you. We have the "runners," the "walkers" and the in "betweeners." By doing this again, I believe that it builds anticipation on who is with who, mixes things up, no one is left out, and ultimately forms new friendships. At the moment I can not remember who is going to form the teams. As soon as we know, I will let you know, so you can make your requests on hunt style and/or someone who you would really like to play with. Please keep in mind, that we will do the best that we can.

I really hope this is OK with everyone again. :duck:

How about the Pacific Wharf area for lunch on Thursday? Cove Bar!!!! ??? LOL.....the new area by Goofy's Sky School!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3: I forgot the name? That would be fun and new to try! :thumbsup2

Jess, I need a walk through to post the images again.

It's my favorite! A big part of it is because it's the style of woodworking my family does. It completely feels like home. I really should get some photos of the homes my Grandparents have built and live in.

Mel, I'll send you a PM in a few ;)

Jen, is 30's style those flapper dresses with the long cigarette holders?? :confused3

And by villains do you mean Maleficent, Ursula, the wicked Queen, etc?

That would work! Flapper dresses, swing dresses....there were a lot of cute things to wear back then! I have dresses on the mind, but I am sure there were capris and stuff.

For villans, yes, any villan. in fact Cruella would be amazing :rotfl: Even something along the lines of the guests in the HM...maybe the black widow???

Also Carol mentioned the Hungry Bear restaurant which reminded me that early on in the thread I had said we definitely should work that into our schedule this time with the delicious new menu and all.

The question was, do we add it as our first day (Thursday) meeting spot for lunch?

Yes! I have never eaten here actually! I am just avoiding Rancho this year. Twice it has made my tummy all rumbly so no more for me ever again. (which is too bad since I love mexican food!)

Are the villa's only available with DVC points?

Love the M&G theme and can't wait for some "guidance" on ideas for dressing up :thumbsup2
I've been in contact with the "team" and more specific details will be coming. In the meantime, I'm super excited to have a spooky theme!!! The Meet and Greet is always great fun, but this is especially exciting for me. :cool1:

Yep, the Grand seems a popular place this time around!! But there are many more to post where they are staying, so I am sure we will end up with several at Hojo or Carousel as well.

I just love the back area of Hungry Bear. It's always been a favorite place for our family to hang out and escape some of the park madness, but the only reason I never suggested it for previous trips was the less than desirable menu. Since that's been redone though, it just seemed like we should all give it a go! At least once.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to some alone time with my honey. :goodvibes

1. Okay, so it looks like the team is ok Hungry Bear being the ending point for the hunt. Good! I was hoping you'd say that. It seems like with the open space and the shade and such, it will work out good. :thumbsup2

2. I am glad the hunt is back in morning. I heard from several how hot it was last time so I agree a.m. is better. So approx time is from 9-12 and only in DL? Got it.
Do you have a starting point? Should we follow past schedules and meet early for a group photo, then take off from whatever location that is? That's seemed to work well in the past......

3. I totally agree it's probably a good idea for teams to be arranged by one or more persons on the committee. That way no one is left out. :)

4. I think the idea of meeting at the new area by Goofy's Sky School is a great idea!! Of course, I have no clue what's going in there. Is that the new pizza place, or am I confused? In any case, I'm all for trying something new, so I'd be open to that. ::yes::

5. So no announcement on a theme? Just hints. Cool. And there is a prize for the winner? You mean whomever guesses the theme correctly? Awesome!! Let the games begin!!

Thanks for the additional info, Jen. How fun. And really, there are so many choices. Like you said, fun dresses from that era. A spooky villain. I could be Ursula. We have the same body type!! :lmao: Or something from Haunted Mansion even? Awesome. I can see this being really neat. And with it being after Halloween, everyone can buy things on clearance after the holiday. :thumbsup2

Good another vote for HB. I like Rancho, but it's just ok. And since it's been done, I am all for adding new things to this trip. Which is why I love the idea of HB after the hunt, and maybe something new in DCA for our Thursday lunch. :)

(anyone know off hand what specifically is going in that new area??)

Also at some point during the trip, I think it would be fun to take a stroll down to Trader Sam's for some drinks!! From what I've heard that place is pretty small though......gee, I guess the Divas will just have to take over the whole place! :cool1: :yay: :woohoo: :rotfl:

Beth, Just looked up the new area.

It's called the Paradise Garden restaurant area. There will be the Paradise Garden Grill and the Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta restaurant. Can't wait to check it out!

Ooh....I would love to stroll down to Trader Sam's! :cool1:

Thanks, Mel. I looked it up too and found this info on the Disney Parks Blog.

"These new restaurants will be side-by-side, with 900 shared seats, and will be open for lunch and dinner. Here’s what you’ll find on the menus:

At Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, on-stage kitchens will turn out flatbreads, pastas and freshly tossed salads. Flatbreads run the gamut from a traditional cheese or pepperoni to a Portobello mushroom and spinach flatbread with pesto, artichokes, mozzarella, ricotta-salata and Pecorino Romano (two fancy cheeses).
Pasta fans can dig into classic spaghetti and meatballs, pasta tossed with chicken in a sun-dried tomato cream sauce, or five-cheese ravioli with pesto and toasted pine nuts. Hearty salads include a chicken Caesar; Mediterranean chef salad with provolone, salami, capocollo, fresh mozzarella, cured ham, roasted peppers, olives and greens in a red wine vinaigrette; and a field greens salad with Craisins dried cranberries, raisins, caramelized pecans and a basil vinaigrette.

Next door, Paradise Garden Grill has a Mediterranean spin with a variety of skewers and kabobs – lemon-oregano chicken, Mediterranean, grilled steak or veggie and tofu served with rice pilaf, cucumber salad and grilled pita, with your choice of sauces to make it your own: Moroccan chili tomato, chimichurri, tandoori-spiced yogurt and tzatziki (a yogurt-cucumber-garlic sauce). A classic Greek salad with grilled pita also is on the menu. For kids, there’s a grilled chicken skewer or a beef kabob, both served with choice of sauce."

I don't know what everyone else thinks, but to me that sounds like the perfect first day lunch spot. Plenty of seating, and the two quick-service places are side-by-side so plenty of food options between the two menus!

Sounds good to me! And I will, I will, I will be there the first day. If I say it often enough, it'll happen, right?

Hi!! I am posting this from my iPhone as my laptop is in the shop. I wanted to post before I forget though.

I would love a purple castle shirt!!

I definitely need a roommate(s). I don't think even with roommates I can afford the GCH unless there is a super deal going on though. I am pretty much open to staying anywhere though.

The hungry bear 2 weeks ago was packed! It took a good half hour to order n get my food. But I think that was one of the busiest days. Splash had 100min waits!! People were standing looking for tables. I hope it won't be like that in February.
