Haven't been on here in a while. I'm a bad Diva. :rolleyes1

Debra - Awwww, I didn't know you were having such a rough time lately and I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Thinking of you!

Meet and Greet committee: Have you looked into where your going to hold the party? Will it be at the Carousel conference room again? If so, will they be offering another deal on hotel rooms?

Meet and Greet committee member here! :wave2:

I've got to say, I loved the party room at the Carousel! That room was awesome!

But it's a lot easier (and less expensive) to book rooms at the HOJO using their retro rate/AP rate/Disney fan rate. Doing that whole contract signing, room block thing at the Carousel to get a group rate was sort of a pain. What does everyone else think? Thoughts?

I think another relatively easy bit of planning we can start to think about is t-shirt colors. In fact, that one is better done early on so people can know what to look for if they don't already own a shirt in that color.
I know one year it took me forever to find a red shirt I liked!

Earlier in this thread we talked about doing another pink shirt day. I loved how the pink colors looked, so I'd be happy with that.

Lime green has been a tradition to wear on day one since the very start. Do we keep that?

I am still in love with the idea of the retro Disney sign on a teal background.

What about blue? Or red again? Black?

Thoughts? :)

Loved the pink too! Lime green on the first day...it's tradition! Must wear the purple castle shirt on one of the days! Black, blue, teal...like. Red...don't like but I'll wear it. :thumbsup2

Speaking of which, I edited the front page info for Halloween. Kelly asked me to take her name down as she will no longer be able to make it. So this is the current list of names and dates that I have. Anyone else need to be added?? :yay: Or taken away? (hope not!) Or just have their dates edited?

I am not a fan of the lime green, but if everyone wants it I will grudgingly put mine on again. :goodvibes I do vote for pink. yay! Teal would also be awesome. No to black because we don't stand out.

The BBQ would be great again (although my waistline is screaming at me!) :rotfl:

My gma had to go and act like a teenager again so this time I ended up deleting her, my aunts, and my cousins from my fb this morning. She refuses to stop posting snide remarks about me on her and my aunt's page. Instead of continuing to try and reason with her, it is just easier to not allow her access into that part of my life. It's too bad really. She is in town for the summer so we will see how this plays out. **sigh** Other than that, today has been a great, fun filled day...just trying to stay cool. :3dglasses

I haven't been here in a while, but I see you are in planning mode for the next trip - YAY!

Earlier in this thread we talked about doing another pink shirt day. I loved how the pink colors looked, so I'd be happy with that.

I loved the pink shirts. It was fun seeing 3 or 4 boats full of pink shirts on IASW!
Lime green made it easy to spot the Divas on the first day (even though I didn't know any of you yet!)
Teal with the retro Disneyland sign = COOL!
The purple shirt from last year certainly was a hit. We should use it again.
I love the bright colours - pink, purple, teal.

I'll try to keep up with all the planning! Carousel or Hojo is fine with me. I'd like to try the Hojo. It sounds nice.

Happy First Day of Summer everyone! :cheer2:

Lisa congrats on getting the great fare!! Wasn't that sale AWESOME!! Now I am just hoping they have ANOTHER one for the dates of our ladies trip!!!!

I was able to score us tix for our nov trip at a 3rd of what they would have normally cost at what the tickets are costing right now so it was awesome and I just reserved our room for Nov plus I found out that our zip code is included in the monthly payment plan so even though we bought hoppers for Nov I will either upgrade while we are there and see if I can do the payment plan or just get a whole new one in Feb. I am actually leaning towards that though eventhough I would lose the money I spent on Nov's ticket ONLY because it would then give me the entire holiday season NEXT year with my pass to go again.

I am excited to hear talk of the planning as well and I'm in for pretty much any color shirt. I think I have one in just about every color there is LOL. So does that mean if we decide to go with last year's shirts that if any of us that didn't go last year might be able to persuade mel to make us one??? I would LOVE one and hopefully if more people need one she might be willing to make some more! I am kicking myself for not asking for one last year!!!

Anyway getting excited with talk of planning and as always mom and I are pretty much up for whatever! :)

M&G Party and Rooms

I completely LOVED the party room at the Carousel, BUT, the whole process of signing a contract in order to block rooms so we could get a group rate there was a pain...not to mention the rates at the HOJO (the Retro rates if available) are quite a bit less than the group rates we got at the Carousel.

Of course the party room at the HOJO was perfectly fine too.

So, do we want to have the party again at the Carousel or at the HOJO? Do we want to block rooms again at the Carousel, or book our own rooms at the HOJO? Should our rooms be at the same hotel as our M&G party, or does it even matter?

Thoughts? :confused3

As for the shirts, the hot pink was an awesome choice this year (man did it make spotting everyone super easy for this shy newbie) so that gets my vote again, along with teal. I'll wear campaign buttons for that if I have to (to go along with my "Free the Princesses" buttons ;)). I'm not a fan of the lime green but I get where it comes from and if it's tradition, it's tradition. The purple shirts that Mel made from this year have to be used again. It's that simple. I completely remember how many times we got stopped during the scavenger hunt because people wanted to know where we got them. Black was too indistinguishable in my opinion and I'm very against red, but I'm biased due to the fact I have to wear it everyday at work as it is.

Hellooooooooo Divas!!!

Good idea :thumbsup2 I love the retro Disney on teal too.

Oh hey, I know........ everyone has a tie dye shirt, right?? That would be just PERFECT!!!! C'mon, you know you wanna :hippie:

......... and I really hope they don't give you a hard time about the tickets. If you were going for two days, I have those with no names on them. Sneaky Disneyland.

Hey, maybe we could do shirtless hot guys with kittens as a t-shirt image!

Oh, I think I'd show up in October if that was on the schedule :woohoo:

My family will be there Oct 2-8 & hopefully attending the 2 parties offered that week!!!

Two parties in one week????

I am not a fan of the lime green, but if everyone wants it I will grudgingly put mine on again. :goodvibes I do vote for pink. yay! Teal would also be awesome. No to black because we don't stand out.

You're not a fan of lime green??? Don't say that too loud, that's the DIS color :upsidedow Sorry about the fam drama - that's just no fun. Stay cool :cool2:

Happy First Day of Summer everyone! :cheer2:

Happy first day of summer to you too..... and finally, it looks almost like summer here :yay:

M&G Party and Rooms

I completely LOVED the party room at the Carousel, BUT, the whole process of signing a contract in order to block rooms so we could get a group rate there was a pain...not to mention the rates at the HOJO (the Retro rates if available) are quite a bit less than the group rates we got at the Carousel.

Thoughts? :confused3

I guess the issue last year was that the room at the Hojo was not available at all. I think we should get some rooms wherever we do the M&G. That's really the only way they will let us use the room without mucho payment to rent it.

As for the shirts, the hot pink was an awesome choice this year (man did it make spotting everyone super easy for this shy newbie) so that gets my vote again, along with teal. I'll wear campaign buttons for that if I have to (to go along with my "Free the Princesses" buttons ;)).
I'll wear those buttons! I do like the bright colors for easy spotting..... although the black pirate shirts were awesome and easily recognized too (I know not everyone has one though - bummer).

... Ruben and I can take off on our anniversary quickie!

A quickie??? Come on tag fairy - Beth is coming up with great tags left and righ!

Hee! Hee!

Shirts - Lime green for tradition, Love the idea of Teal with the Retro Disneyland sign and we have to wear the purple castle shirt. And I am in the minority and love tye dye!

Sorry I haven't been on much - business is going crazy right now (a good thing!) and we leave for France next Wednesday!!!

Beth - my halloween dates may change - we are trying to work around a friend's schedule. Leave it as is for now and I will update as soon as I know

Hugs to all!

The party room at the Carousel was great and I loved the close location. Rooms were just OK and the price was reasonable but not as good as HoJo. HoJo rooms are very nice and a great price if we can get the Entertainment rate but further from the gate and the party room is just OK. So whatever we can get is fine with me but I do think that we should get that booked ASAP so we know we have something for the M&G.

Purple castle shirt - yes I would love to use that again but the newbies will need to get one. Teal retro shirt - definite yes to that! Any other color is fine with me.

Oh and I think the Tag Fairy is retired.

FYI - Southwest is having a HUGE sale. I just booked a day trip down for Wednesday, August 24. I'll be spending the day at the park to see the Summer Parade and check out the new rides. Woo hoo!
That's awesome, Lisa!! :thumbsup2

Clothes talk, yay! I love that we decide on colors, because I'm a horrible packer and always over pack, but it so easy when we decide on a color shirt for each day.

I hope we plan on using last years shirt, because I would love to show it off in Disneyland. :upsidedow

ETA: I love the idea of a pink shirt!
I love that we decide on colors too. It makes it feel more like a cohesive group, and yet within that color scheme everyone can wear a tank top, a t-shirt, a button down, a sweatshirt, whatever! Makes it easy.

I love pink, too!! I can't believe the one year I didn't go, that was on the list. Definitely need it again! :thumbsup2

I think you're lying to me. If I showed up and there was no hot guys with cats, I would cry.

Hey, maybe we could do shirtless hot guys with kittens as a t-shirt image!
Wendy, Wendy, Wendy. :sad2: Would I lie to you?? Would I trick you with promises of half naked men, their muscles throbbing, holding sweet innocent kittens, just waiting to meet you??
:rolleyes1

Loved the pink too! Lime green on the first day...it's tradition! Must wear the purple castle shirt on one of the days! Black, blue, teal...like. Red...don't like but I'll wear it. :thumbsup2
Yep, lime green has been on the list from day one. And honestly, I have yet to see someone look horrible in it. :confused3 It might not be everyone's first choice, but I think it always looks pretty good. jmo

Definitely need to use the castle tee again. ::yes::

My family will be there Oct 2-8 & hopefully attending the 2 parties offered that week!!!
Lucky duck! Two parties. You wild woman!! ;) I'll add you now.

No to black because we don't stand out.
I wasn't there for the black, but I did think everyone looked really cool in their black tees and sunglasses. :cool2: But having said that, I can see how it would just sort of blend. Good point.

Sorry about the family drama. I hope it all works out in the end.

Teal with the retro Disneyland sign = COOL!
Hi Dianna! Doesn't it sound great! I'm so excited. I think that design on a teal shirt might rival the castle tee for awesomeness!! :cool1:

So does that mean if we decide to go with last year's shirts that if any of us that didn't go last year might be able to persuade mel to make us one??? I would LOVE one and hopefully if more people need one she might be willing to make some more! I am kicking myself for not asking for one last year!!!
Yep, kick yourself. :rolleyes1 lol Just kidding. I didn't ask for one either. I only got one because Theresa had the good sense about her to get one for me!! And I am so glad. They are awesome. Hopefully we can work something out for those who need one.

So, do we want to have the party again at the Carousel or at the HOJO? Do we want to block rooms again at the Carousel, or book our own rooms at the HOJO? Should our rooms be at the same hotel as our M&G party, or does it even matter?

Thoughts? :confused3
Well, I can't speak to the Carousel room since I missed that one. I always felt the Hojo was fine, not having anything to compare it too.
BUT working with a group rate and contracts and such can be a real pain. And you may not get enough rooms if groups of ladies are getting rooms at GCV.

Have you called Lorealle to see if the room there is available and if so, how much it would cost? If it's not even open that day, that solves that dilemma right there.

Also, I think we need to know the theme. Now. Immediately. Today. ASAP. After all, if we need costumes or special clothing, we only have 8 months left to shop!! *gasp* That's practically no time at all. So, come on, let's hear it.

:p

Ugh, you tease!!

Yay for a busy business. :thumbsup2 And in case I don't get the chance to say it later, have an awesome trip!!!!!

No worries on the Halloween dates, just let me know. Of course, you know which weekend you really should go. :rolleyes1 ;)

So whatever we can get is fine with me but I do think that we should get that booked ASAP so we know we have something for the M&G.

Oh and I think the Tag Fairy is retired.
I agree. Securing a party room should be one of the very first things done so we don't have to scramble later on. Which ever place we end up with is workable. Especially with our awesome Meet and Greet team! They'll make either place look amazing!! :worship: So I'd suggest they go with whichever is easier to book and/or cheaper.

I'd laugh if the tag fair came out of retirement just to give you that tag! :lmao:

Okay, so for clothing options, it seems we are looking at: (in no particular order yet, except for the lime green)

Lime green (worn Thursday as the traditional first day color. And for those who hate it, it's not even a full day's wear 'cause you can change for the party that night)

Pink shirt (any shade)

Purple castle tee (last year's group tee)

New group tee - retro Disneyland sign design on teal shirt (it's gonna be awesome, I just know it!!)

Right?

Which only leaves one day left......probably Monday. Since many of the group leave on Sunday at some point, I guess Monday's color isn't such a huge deal. Maybe a shade of blue?? :confused3

:beach:Happy First Day of Summer:beach:

thinking that I was on summer vacation I would have more time on computer well I have been busy with my daughters graduation and party. We are headed to the SD county fair this week (always a good start for my summer vacation)

I was so excited to see plans beginning for the trip.:woohoo:

I am happy with all the shirt colors the teal one is going to be nice. I am another who would buy a purple castle shirt if made available again.

I like tie dye:hippie: Know it's not a popular choice.:confused3 Maybe I will make myself a lime green tie dye (even though I might not be able to make it up until the meet and greet.
