Diva & 27th Anniv Trip w/1500+ Pics, Photopass starts #765!!

Hi Laurie!!

Totally loving your report! :cloud9:
You took so many wonderful pictures! Even the part with me receiving my cards and gift plant. It made me cry to see those, and I called my DH Dave to come and see what you guys all did for me. Of course I had already told him all about it, but it was nice for him to see some pictures, and all you ladies at the party. The next time my Mom comes over, I'm going to show her all the pics too.
Thankyou for the special memory!

I also wanted to comment on the Bootstrap Band. (I think that is what they are called.):confused3 Anywhos, I was wondering the other day if they still were performing, and here you caught them on film. I am so glad they are still around. :goodvibes

This trip went so fast, that would you believe that I never even made it to New Orleans Square? I didn't even get to see any of the Mardi Gras goodies. :sad2: Your pics were great!

I got a text from Michelle letting me know that IJ was closed, so they were doing some shopping in Frontierland & then would head to the Enchanted Tiki Room. So I headed that direction & got myself a Dole Whip......so yummy!! I found a place to sit so I could see the entrance & exit so I didn't miss the girls. I saw Michelle on her phone & then the other 3 gals showed up & we went to the Tiki Room. Jessica, Tracey & Carrie sat in the front row & Michelle & I opted for the back row.

I'm totally with you on the walk. I don't mind it at all and I'm a fast walker so it doesn't take me long and I've never minded it before. But I definitely got spoiled with the walk to the Carousel.

Convenience after a long day is good, but I'll take the HoJo any day!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the pics.....I wasn't at a very good angle, but wanted to capture what I could. A very special moment for a very special lady!!

Last summer we saw them perform over on Tom Sawyer's Island (aka Pirate's Lair) or maybe it was the trip before that.....who knows....I start getting confused......lol

What a shame you missed the Mardi Gras stuff.....especially with it overly decorated for Mardi Gras!! I have even more pics coming up later in the report!

I love this show & it's a great place to "escape"!!

After the Tiki Room, Jessica, Tracey & Carrie headed back to IJ to see if it was open. Michelle & I headed to Main Street. Michelle was on the hunt for a corn dog.....I found a little shade & people watched & snapped a few pics.

I just loved the bicycle built for 4 for the Dapper Dans!!

Michelle & I headed back to the motel. Michelle went up to the store & I grabbed a sammie at the Quizno's at our motel. After lunch I headed over to DCA to check out the Potato Head pieces.........I was really disappointed that they were exactly the same pieces as 2 yrs ago. So my next quest would be finding Duffy bears for the kids. On my way to the Pier area, I took a picture of the Little Mermaid. King Triton's statue was put up sometime in the last week to the roof line.

129-1.jpg

I also was glad to see the mountains & hillsides filling in & taking shape in CarsLand.

The construction walls are everywhere!!

The exit out of DCA:

133-1.jpg

Here's the walls around where the California letters used to be at the entrance to DCA. What a mess that is.....I would have hated to be there during a busy time. You get behind the ropes & wind your way around to the left side to enter & exit to the left (at least during the day).

Anthony got the Woody one, Addy got the Sailor one, the twins got the Baseball Jersey & T-shirt ones!!

I'm enjoying your TR Laurie !
Love the pic of the Dapper Dans on the bike, I didn't get to see that.
It's hard to believe that one week ago tonight I was unpacking.

Thanx Trudi!!

Oh that's right, the majority of you left on Sunday......lol I kinda forgot....since I didn't get home until Thursday night!! :rotfl:

Loving it so far, Laurie! It's fun to see the things you did on Thursday when I wasn't there.

Question for you: I am having the darndest time remembering who else was on Thunder with you when I got there on Friday. So who we were at Pioneer Mercantile with and watched the Enchanted Tiki Romm with. It's driving me bonkers. I should have beent aking more group photos. I learned my lesson for next year.

Yep, that was me and Carrie. See picture below:) It was great to meet you and both Carrie and I thought you were a really nice young lady, and totally fun to rock the IJ single rider line with!

Um, just wanted to say, as you can probably see in my face, I LOVE THE TIKI ROOM! I don't know why. It really makes me feel connected with Walt, and makes me remember my Grandpa. Getting to see it interpreted in ASL later during the Walk In Walt's Footsteps was truly one of the highlights of my trip. Great Pictures by the way

You're very welcome......I won't be able to send them out right away.....since Mike missed a week of work, I'm a little short on cash...so will plan on mailing them out on the 24th.....hope that's ok!

Of course! But please PM me with the cost & how you want me to send you the money ... paypal, check, whatever. I, of course, will send you extra for shipping, etc.

I thank you again for getting them for me!

When we went in February my BFF had never been in the Tiki Room before. She fell instantly in love. She says she will never miss it again.

Great new installment!! Cute pic of Tracey. I'm sad I missed her because she was on our first trip but not last year and now I missed her this year!!

I sure hope she goes next year!!!

Tracey you will have to meet up with mom and I when we come to Seattle this summer!! :)

I LOVE the Tikki room and it is funny because I had NEVER been in it as a kid. My parents just never took me and of course as a teen I could never be bothered but it wasn't till I had kids of my own and now we go almost every trip. My kids and I LOVE it and we know the song by heart and as you mentioned it is a GREAT place to stop and take a break (esp in the summer when it is so hot). I have gotten some GREAT photos outside with the plants and tikis and such and it is just a fun little place. But then all of adventureland is probably my most favorite land :)

Off to work but as always can't wait for the next installment!! :)

Jessica is a very sweet gal!!

I did the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour in 09.....loved it & getting the behind the scenes at the Tiki Room......awesome!!

Of course! But please PM me with the cost & how you want me to send you the money ... paypal, check, whatever. I, of course, will send you extra for shipping, etc.

I'll do that.....gotta find my receipts & figure it out.....lol

It is a great show!!!! Off to bathe babies.....be back later!

I made my way back to the motel so I could do a Skype video call home to my kids. It really improved my mood getting to see them & talk to them. I headed back to the park to meet up with Michelle, Jessica & Vicki for our World of Color Dining at Ariel's Grotto.

We were seated downstairs in the dining room & handed our menu & a basket of bread with dips were brought out.

157-1.jpg

We decided to do the 3 tiered Shellfish & Meat Antipasto Tower. The top tier had meats & cheeses, the middle tier had shrimp & muscles & the bottom tier had a salad.

Now on to the entrees, I went with the Fillet of Redfish & the other 3 gals ordered the Santa Maria Tri-Tip.

Everyone seemed pleased with their dinners......very yummy!!!

Next comes out the dessert tray!!

I had mentioned my allergy to coconut & the chef didn't want to take any chances, so he sent out a bowl of Orange Sherbet for my dessert.......lol

176-1.jpg

After the meal, I ran off for a minute & the girls noticed they had already opened up the viewing areas, so they took off & went down. I came back to the restaurant & no one was there.......headed down to the Preferred Dining Section & got a text from Jessica that they were already inside & she'd meet me with my FP to get in. (she ran all the way back up the restaurant & texted me......I was standing at the gates to go into the viewing....somehow we crossed paths & didn't see one another).......she came back & we went inside.

Once inside the viewing area, since the area opened up before we got in line.....the railing already had people at it.....now I had an ok view (I was the only tall one in the bunch)....but the other 3 were going to have some issues. Michelle had picked up a GAC earlier due to some back issues & so we moved up to the Handicapped viewing area in our section. Michelle was able to sit down & we were able to stand behind her & have an unobstructed view.

Here's the Mickey wheel from our original view point.

And after we moved (zoomed in a bit)

You know one funny thing is I never tire of the repetitive "in the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room" from Colton...but sometimes the over & over "it's a small world starts to bug me....

I used to have Small World as a ringer for my text messages on my phone. How long do you all think one lasted?:rotfl:

I have yet to capture all the letters in the World of Color at the end of the show.....but Jessica said she has a good pic that she'll share with me!!!!

We had a great view of the show except one gal that made it well known that she needed to be in the handicapped seating kept getting up blocking the view of Michelle on the bench behind her.....I kept grabbing the CM to have her sit down......he had to do this multiple times during the show. She told him she had to stand because she couldn't see some of the lower stuff......well then next time go to the standing area & do so!

Wanted to make a comment on the show......it's absolutely stunning & I love, love, love it! BUT.........when the show seems to be at the end....they've added in what I call a movie trailer for Tron....the effects are cool.....but being put at the end of the show, just made it seem out of place.

I was having a great time, but it got to the part with the song "So Close" from Enchanted & I started bawling.......this is Addy's favorite movie & we sing these songs all the time.......I regrouped & enjoyed the rest of the show!

We followed the droves of people leaving the park & detered over to Soarin'. We got the center, first row!!! SWEET!!!!

I took a couple pics of the fireworks in the esplanade. The girls were headed over to Disneyland & I went back to the motel for the night.
