Distressed Rental Points for SSR

Is the rental thread the place posted when a member has points that will expire at the end of the current month that needs to be rented at a distressed price (most likely opening only at SSR)?

Where ever they can piece a short notice reservation together. It may involve moving resorts at this point in time. The most likely resort for having availability is SSR, but there is a chance at anything, and a chance of nothing at all.

There are a number of rental offers each year where a member fails to recognize until the 11th hour that they will have points expiring within a short time. This is NOT unique to SSR, but happens at all resorts from timne-to-time. These are fairly common on the Rent/Trade Board.

The problem with these threads is that when the points will expire within the next 60 days, availability is the biggest obstacle since members are then competing with DRC for availability (as available villas are turned over to DRC within 60 days - and DVC resort members benefit from that income with reduced annual fees).

If you see an offer for points with an expiration within 60 days, you should anticipate a greatly reduced fee. If not, either offer a reduced fee or look for another offer.
