Dissapointed Soarin Riders?

I was expecting so much from this ride the first time I went on...Big mistake! I sat in the 2nd row, and as enjoyable as it was, I left with a feeling of "that's it??". However, I still liked it, so the next year when my family went I knew what to expect. I was shocked by the difference between first and second rows!! I had a blast in the front row, it made a world of difference.

To top it all off, I had the loveliest elderly woman beside me, who was in tears at how amazing it was for her. She kept reaching her hands out and giggling as if somehow she was a child all over again. It took all I had not to cry when I looked over and saw her holding her (I presume) daughter's hand, completely overjoyed.

So, I love this ride. It's not ground-breaking or exciting in the way that other rides are, but it's fun and lets us come close to experiencing something we probably never could do in real life. :)

I thought it would be more like parasailing or hangglidding. I guess I thought is would be more of an individual experience. But from the second or third row all you see is feet. I would much rather see the ride If You Had Wings at the MK. It felt more individual because everyone was in their own cars and you couldn't see them just the screen in front of you.

Soarin' is the most overrated ride I've ever been on. I got a FP for it, so thank goodness I didn't have to wait in the rediculously and unnecessary long line, and even the FP was a waste of time. I don't see what the big hype and fuss is all about.

My idea to make the ride better is to first, well, MAKE IT LONGER, and don't favor California. Soar over the entire United States. Heck, even the world!

Disney won't update the film until the ride starts getting less visitors. Its one of the only things they can do to Soarin', so why update it now at a time when it has constant lines? Im sure their saving it until they need to spark interest in the attraction again.

No unfortuanly it is the truth. The day before my 3 year old son wanted her to ride BTMR with him and she thought is was like a train ride. Well, 2 minutes later when they came off she was crying and yelling at me. We are from Nigeria. The first time I took her to the mall hear she was scared to get on the escalator. We don't have amusement parks in Nigeria.

wow i can't imagine what the plane ride from nigeria was like :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::eek::eek:

I've only ridden it once, in the front row. No big deal. Pleasant enough to get out of the sun, but if I'd waited even a half hour for it, let alone some of the horrible waits people describe, I definitely would have been disappointed.

The local IMAX theatre has a similar film (though you don't leave the ground) that is more impressive overall.

We went August and I must admit it was nice attraction but when it was over I was dissapointed because I expected more... Anyone else feel like this?

I have been disapointed with this ride everytime. I think it's the most overhyped ride is history. I went as far as to make a signature dedicated to how I feel about the ride. They shoul have left in California and built us something original. I won't even ride it anymore, not even if the wait is 5 minutes long.

I work there and still love it!

(having said that I'd never wait in the truly long lines - but then again I'd be smart enough to have gotten a FP so that wouldn't be an issue)

We were. We had just ridden MS which was our first mistake. Then we got the second row and I kept looking at the feet dangling in front of me. It really kinda ruined the moment. Next time I'll ask for the top row.

I'm just glad I had a FP - if I had waited the 90m+ that others had, I would have really been disappointed.

i'm torn between loving it and being scared to death! sorry, but I'm terrified of heights, so to me this is a BIG thrill ride. hubby nebo is not thrilled like I am, but he finds it very relaxing.

I wasn't aware of the hype before riding it, but I was aware of the long line when I saw it. We got FP and I'm glad we did since it was certainly not worth an hour wait . Even though we DID sit in the front row, I thought it was just okay. None of us were interested in riding on it twice in one trip

What, :scared1: dissapointed and Soarin are 2 words that could never appear in the same sentence. It is imho the best ride at WDW!!

I like Soarin'-first time I rode it people actually applauded after and during the ride. I sat in the first row though.
