I can't figure out what to even search for on the internet for software so I can use my computer the same way a digital frame works for showing my pictures. Can anyone help me? I want my computer to work just like a digital frame....

Mine's just in "My Pictures". I can set it to slideshow and it'll just scroll through them like a digital frame would.

If you right-click on your desktop & click on properties, you can then go to screensaver & choose "My Pictures Slideshow."

When your computer is idle it will show a slideshow of whatever pictures you have in your "My Pictures" folder, or whatever folder you designate.

You can also set your screen saver to a slideshow of your photos, so when the computer is idle it will act like a digital frame.

Go to Control Panel, Appearances, Screen Saver, then chose Photos. You can then go into Settings for your Screen Saver & change the amount of time the photos stay on screen and the transition effects etc.

(I guess Mary Jo & I were posting at the same time!!)

Thank You! Now I can save $$$ and not purchase a Digital Frame!

LOL! MaryJo... that is how mine is! My nephew set it up for me and I forgot that was what he did. I did not even know it could do that and I walked in one day and it was great seeing all my old photos up there. Thanks for the reminder. Janet Rose, enjoy your photos!!

I just changed my folder. Lol. This is an old work computer, and I have a lot of pics of coworkers in one folder. I'd much rather see my family photos. lol

WARNING: I don't know if there is a connection to a problem I just had, but turning this feature on was the last thing I did before heading to bed last night.

My computer is only a few months old. I leave it on all day/all night. It is set to go into power-save mode after 30 minutes. Its been doing it each night with no problems for months. In the morning, a shake of the mouse wakes it up.

THIS morning, nothing would wake the monitor to life. The monitor power button was orange. Turning it off, then on again, would make the button turn green, screen would display "entering power save mode", go black again, and the monitor button would go orange. Pressing any keyboard buttons wouldn't wake it again. (Its not the monitor that has a problem.)

Luckily, I have a laptop also & was able to google "can't take monitor out of power save mode". I found several people with the same problem in the first google result. The solution for many was to replace the motherboard battery. While I haven't done that yet, since its morning, I find that hard to believe as my problem for a computer that only a few months old. If it persists, I will try it obviously.

For now, after holding the computer power button to be able to turn off computer & reboot, that worked. First thing I did was turn off that screeensaver I had turned on last night. Coincidence? I don't know.

Just thought I would throw it out there if it happens to someone else who has computer set same as mine with power save mode turned on.

Problem seems to be gone now that I've turned off the screensaver.

Hey, at least I can still always do the slideshow option when I want to see them.
