I've finally gotten around to converting some of my old (yes, OLD) WDW slides to digital. These were made on trips my brother and I made to The World, in the mid 1970's. I was in my early 20's and had hair then. Like I said, these are really OLD! Square format pix were made with an Instamatic 104, and the rectangular format ones were made, as best I recall, with a Praktica Super TL 35mm camera.

If anyone else has pix from long ago, in a Theme Park far, far away, please feel free to add them.

Nice!
My first time to WDW was only 6 years ago. It's nice to see the historical shots.
thanks,
Mikeeee

Nice... I have a pile of old Disney photos but I'm waiting to get a proper film scanner before putting most online - and honestly, most aren't very good. I think I only took one trip with my film SLR (not counting the last one!) and those I actually have on PhotoCD. Here's a few of those, from 1995.

This is from the guest lounge in the World of Motion ride. Lookit those nearly empty sidewalks! Both this and the next were taken through heavily tinted windows, I tried to brighten the colors but they're probably not exactly perfect.

Ahh, the sign-less Spaceship Earth! I saw a rumor somewhere that the sign might come down soon... we can only hope!

Awww, I miss 20,000 Leagues. I suppose it isn't up to today's standards, but I thought it was really cool at the time. According to my dad, we were in the first sub that went out on its official opening day.

Here are a couple that I took with my Kodak instamatic circa 1974, which would have made me 7. I wish I had time to go through my dad's old slides and scan them, but I don't see that happening in the near future.

The Skyway! Now, that IS a relic from the past!

Yeah, I miss that too. :hippie: Don't they know things are supposed to remain just as I left them? I feel the same way about my college town too. :lmao:

All made in summer of 1975, using a Kodak Pocket 30 camera, with 110 format slide film:

Well my ancient history with a disney park goes way back to the year 2000 for our honeymoon. This is a scan of a shot from a 100 dollar camera. Not bad, especialy for the low light and not using the flash.

it is my only shot of something that is not there anymore. I forget, was it called alien encounter?

Mikeeee

That's the "ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter" - a ride criminally shut down to put Stitch and the cursed corn-dog belch in its place. That was one of my all-time favorites... and it didn't hurt having Tim Curry doing the voice of the robot!

Mouse Surplus has been selling original seats from the ride on eBay... I'd buy one except that shipping is so expensive on them. Maybe if they still have them next time I drive instead of fly down...

Here are a few of my In-Law's slides from 2 of their trip's back in '85 & '87.

Those are great pics Kyle! I am still searching for my parents pics from our trip in 1983. I know they exist but they can't remember where they would be, so I'll keep looking... That was when the Epcot was new and the "future" stuff was still in the future!

Can't remember for sure, but seems like I remember the stage came our of the floor, whcih was pretty cool, if I'm remembering that correctly.

Sorry for the crummy shot; that was pre-digital...

I linked some of these from my old websites that are archived on the internet in TheWayback Machine.
Figment and Dreamfinder. I took these on October 10th 1998. The last 4 minutes before JII closed.

Mr. Toads Wild Ride replaced by 100 Acre Woods with Winnie The Pooh in the spring of 1999.

This is a great thread. I really need to find my old slides. I did take some of my 35mm film to a photo store to scan. I'll see if I can find some to post. They are not real old just the early '90s. I wish that I had some from our first visit in '86.

I'm not sure of the year but this was at Christmas (duh!) in at least the early '90s. This prop was set up in the area where the old barber shop was. It was an alley to the left as you walk to the castle. It is a shop now that connects the two original shops on the left.

I remember that spot!:rotfl: They had a flower cart set up with beautiful flowers. We used to have someone take our pics on each visit. I have quite a few.Way before Photopass. I enjoyed seeing my kids grow up in front of the same flower cart. Now I have to find those pics.
I love this thread. Triggers many happy memories.
