Thanks again everybody for the comments...
Harambe,
If you want to use them as your computer's wall paper, you need to do the following:
1) Use the link to display the image.
2) Right click on the image (assuming you're using a PC).
3) Use the "Save as..." option and save it to your PC. (Note WHERE you saved it!)
4) Right click on your current desktop and select "properties".
5) You should see a "desktop" tab on the window that opens.
6) You'll see your current wall paper and a "browse" button. Use the browse option and go find the image you saved in step #3.
7) Select that image.
8) Select "OK", "Save" or whatever to save the wall paper change.
9) If all else fails, ask your kid or the kid next door!

I don't mean to sound flip, but actually it's very simple to take these photos. The keys are:
1) Turn off your flash.
2) Keep the camera steady.
I let the camera to the rest. You can "tweak" it even more to make them better, but points #1 and #2 are the most important.
The Tree of Life question is simple. It was taken on Dec 31. AK was open until 6 PM that day. The last performance of The Festival of the Lion King started almost at closing time. So it didn't end until close to 6:30 PM. The weather was also very overcast as the infamous New Year's Eve Monsoon of 2002 was fast approaching. Being so close to the Winter Solstice it got dark realitively early, and the clouds also helped darken things. The park was all lit up and the walk out was very pretty.
