Disneytraveler goes to Wdw!

When i returned to the hotel on Friday evening, there it was ! The dreaded
ME evelope on me door! :rolleyes1 . Fortunately i had a late flight .It was
745 pm which means i take the 530 pm bus back. I checked out of the hotel
very early on Satuday and left both my carryon and suitcase for the bellcaptains to tag.
I was not coming back to room so i went to my Mgm to spend my last day!

I went on the attractions i really liked over again such as The Little Mermaid, Great Movie Ride, Star Tours, Muppet Vision 3d. I went to the Narnia room again. I walked slowly thru the exhibit to really appreciate the costumes. Next i walked over to Lights Camera, Action show but it closed
for renovations and would not open to the next week.

When i turned around, all the characters were out on Mickey Avenue!
Radcliffe, Rabbit, Mickey and Minnie, The Little Ensteins , and Kim Possible
were there. I bought another autograph book so i could get Rabbits and Radcilffes autograph. Mickey and Minnie had long lines and it was getting
close for all the characters to leave.

After enjoying a caramel apple , i went to see the Beauty and the Beast show. This show still makes me smile. It is really colorful and the performers
do a great show. I had lunch at Rosies and then around 2pm i took a bus back to the hotel.
I just sat in the main lobby for awhile. Then i bought alot of Animal Kingdom
Lodge merchandise as well as Animal Kingdom Park stuff. I walk around the Arusha Rock overlook one last time before boarding the bus home.

Around 10:45 pm i arrived back in Boston. My luggage came out within 5 minutes! I went over to the Limo parking lot to get my limo. Everyone was
getting into their reserved limo. I looked around the area. ''Where's my limo?!" :confused3 I immediately called the company. Their reply,''Ah we dont have you scheduled for a pickup, i remember picking you up to go!"
''Well i did reserve one and it was confirmed !! :furious: ''Well i'll see if we can get you one. It will about 1/2 hour". Ok was my reply.

An hour later and still no limo! I called again and get the answering machine!
At this time ,the other limo companies felt bad for me and wanted to help. One even called his manager but all his cars were out. I had to take a taxi
home! :sad2: I did not get home until about 1am! I am not using that limo
service again.

But the trip was fanastic and already i want to go back to the lodge!

Ouch, what a snarly ending to a great trip!!!

Ouch, what an awful ending with the limo mix up... perhaps a strongly worded letter would be in order!

Can you tell me more about your dinner at V & A? what did you eat??

That cirque de soleil show kinda creeped us out... creeepy clown who walks funny :sad2: and then my DD7 (at the time) fell asleep :confused3

Victoria & Alberts

The presentation :
Amuse Bouche
sparling wine
Ahi Tuna appetizer

My first course was the Long Island duck with galia melon, grains of paradise and minus 8 vinegar. I thought the duck and the melo conbination was really
wonderful. Since i ordered the wine parrings for each course. The wine to
accompany the duck was King Estate Pinot Gris,Oregon 2005.

2ND was the Poulet Rouge with mild mushrrom ragout,Truffled Egg and Porcini Sauce. This was absolutately wondeful. The sauce was really flavorful. Mr. Disney was right on about the sauce. Everything in this course blended so well together. The egg was a treat to. I asked my waiter how was the egg
filing .I wanted to know what the filing was exactly. Its a truffle filing -light
a delightful. Wine -La Baronne Rouge,Montagne d Alaric.

The dinner rolls are really yummy. I had several .

After the poulet rouge came the Tempura crab stuffed squash blossom with
vilotte moustarde. The best i can describe this is a crab meat stuffed mixture
in a light tempura shell. It was very nice .Chatteau de Sancerre for the wine.

Then came the main meal, Colorado lamb with potato gnocchi and summer vegatables. The lamb was very tender. The combination of the vegatables
and pototoes was excellent. The gravy was also very tasty. The wine pairing
was Masi Campofirin Corvina, Verona 2002.

Guava gelato with micro garden mint. This was paired with Fairview La Beyl Blanc, South Africa 2004. The gelato was nice and the dessert wine was a great choice.

Finally the dessert!
I wanted something light but sweet . Therefore, i ordered the poached pears
with casis mouse and spiced cake. The poached pair was terrific . The mouse
inside the pear was very good. In the center of the plate a sugar spear and
some suace. The spiced cake was very tasty.

The wine pairrings were great. I did not have any problems with them at all.
There are not full glasses of wine but just enough for each course. Even the south african wines i was able to drink. I say this because some S African wines are to heavy and acidic for me. Not so with these courses and pairings..

After finishing the meal, i applauded the crew!
Israel Perez was very nice ,when i arrived he asked if i came by valet parking
or by taxi from the Akl. Since i took a taxi, then he asked if i wanted him to
call a taxi for me after i finish. I answered .Yes.

Upon leaving, he asked me if i enjoyed my evening. I told him i did and it was wonderful evening. He then told me a taxi would be waiting outside.

V&A is so undisney like! Very Quite and peaceful with harpist playing music!
The room is very pretty to. The wine pairings are extra. It was 55.00 for the wine and the dinner was 100.00. The plan covers the dinner so i charged the
wine pairings to my hotel charges.

That cirque de soleil show kinda creeped us out... creeepy clown who walks funny and then my DD7 (at the time) fell asleep

Hi Cass,
Lol i guess the circus was not to exciting for your DD7 :goodvibes

One final surprise!

As a part of the Platinum plan , i received a keepsake of my choice. I went to
Uptown jewelers to get mine, a happiest celebration on earth plaque and a vase. The plaque i was able to take home with my luggage but the vase i left
back at the Akl lodge unpacked. I asked the Cms at the store if they could
ship it to me. But they said 'oh no its parishable and will break.' Strange because i know Disney has shipped stuff more valuable and breakable to me in the past. :confused3

So i left it in my room !
Today Ups left a note on my door and of course i was not there . It needed my signature which they dont usually ask for. I thought ,''But i did not order
anything ?!"

Then i looked at the name who is sending the package, ''Walt Disney!" :Pinkbounc

Mickey must be sending the vase!

Its wonderful! It has to be the vase, i dont know what else it may be :goodvibes . Indeed a great service .I cant wait :teeth:

Maybe if I leave all my dirty laundry in the closet they'll ship it back to me :)

Lol the package came and it was rather small, not the size of a vase! :rolleyes1
It was the magic express tags that Ups tried to deliver to me on on the 18th.
But heres the weird thing, i did not call Magic Express until last night! And the Ups sticker stated,''signature required'
For an envelope with luggage tags!

And of course they are unrelenting on changing delivery times but i must have been sprinkled with :wizard: pixiedust: because it was delivered after 5pm which is the i wanted . :goodvibes

Somewhere theres a vase still down at the Akl! :)
