Disneytraveler goes to Wdw!

September 9.2006 I woke up at 400am to be sure i have everything ready
for the limo to pick me up at 600am. After an early breakfast and last minute
luggage check its out the door to wait for the ride! I was at the curve early
about 15-20 minutes just to safe. The time on my watch states
6AM but i usually dont panic because still plenty of time and the limo is not coming from to far off. Next the watch reads 620am! and i am wondering
wheres the limo! . I look for my house keys and they are in my luggage so i quickly get them and rush back into the house. A quick call
to the limo company ''I was supposed to picked up at 6am and its now 630!"

There was a mix up on the calender was the reply and they will send someone within the next 20 minutes. But i have a 830am flight
So about 645 my limo arrives ,hurray and its a driver i had before .He makes up lost time on route 93 going to Boston and i get to Logan in plenty of time.
As i enter the airport its calm and quiet ,not to many Disney quest traveling i surmise. I get to the screening area and think there should be a breeze as
there has been plenty of time for people to know what they can and cant take with them. Or so i thought. A parent with her child in front
of me trying to carry on contraband stuff! The security people tell her the eye drops exception is for people with diabities.

Its onto the jet and i arrive in Florida in the afternoon. Around 130pm Magic
Express drops me off to Animal Kingdom Lodge. After registering , i find my way to the Mara. I get the African stew and coke.The cashier saids, ''Oh you
are on the Platinum Plan with the stew you can have a side item and dessert!" So i grab a small salad and piece of pie to complete my lunch.
After lunch i go to my savanah room and open the curtains.
There are animals out on the savanah! How beautiful! And the room is wonderful!

In the late afternoon and evening, i head to Downtown Disney for some shopping and then back to the lodge for dinner at Jiko!

Ooooohhhh, you had me scared with the limo story; airports these days are such a rush.

Isn't the thrill of the first sighting of wildlife right on the other side of your balcony thrilling!!!

Sunday the 10th-

I planned to be at Magic Kingdom the whole day. My day started with taking pictures of the animals out in the savanah from my balcony .
Then i went to Boma for the breakfast buffet. Boma is still a favorite of mine.
The frunch juice is just great. After breakfast its time to get the bus for the Magic Kingdom. Before getting the bus, i wanted to make sure where i go
for the vip preferred seating for the Wishes fireworks. Concergie told me to
go to the Town Hall and they will instruct me. So its off to the Magic Kingdom!

Resorts guest are able to enter the park about 5-10 minutes before other
people. This is also evening Emh for the Magic Kingdom. All the Cms were out
along Main Street to greet us! It was really nice! Since it was a emh day , then i planned to one half of the Kingdom in the morning and the rest
in the evening. I also do the parks differently each year. Therefore, i did some
character autographs to. I got Chip and Dales autograph!
Next onto the rides! I really wanted to try the new Pirates ride or the updated version. The addition of Jack Sparrow and the other pirates is wonderful! After Pirates , i went to Big Thunder Mountain. Now i have not
been on this ride for along time . I mean since 1976 long time!
Well, i keep forgetting its there lol .Or i get to tired to venture down
that end. It brought back memories ! Now i remember this ride .It was fun
and fast and little rough arouund the edges.
From here i go over to Haunted Mansion for this ride. All of the rides
were walk ons or either 5-10 minute waits.It was great.
Then i walked over to Fantasy land and went on Cinderalla Scary Adventure.
Actually i fell onto the seat While moving along with the walkway
i fell on my side onto the seat. Now my back really is stiff after doing thunder
mountain. After getting into my seat upright, i can now enjoy the ride.
Mickey Philamagic and then Peters Pan Flight were next.

In the evening i had dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Another favorite of mine to dine at. At about 7pm i go to MK again for emh. I wanted to see where the preferred seating was so i head to the destination. Its the landing near The
Noodle station and the Plaza icecream. The sky was getting darker and darker
and then it poured. Well, at least i am under an umbrella . The rain did not stop SpectroMagic or the fireworks. Wishes is really nice!
Now its time to get the other rides and redo some i like. I went on Pirates
again and then Its a Small World, followed by Stitch. However, he was not working so fast passes were given out. I had some fun in Buzzlight spin. I made 18,000 points but that did not get me into the Disney Hall of Fame . Mickeys Philamagic again and then i run over to Splash . I did not get there in time because the park was closing.
Well, i said, ''Steve,'' you made to midnight on emh! Back to the hotel!

Monday the 11th-

With only 4 hours sleep the night before, i get up bright an early for emh
at Animal kingdom park . I am all set to ride the new attraction Expedition
Everest. In my mind and spirit iam set but my body saids, ''No way not after
all day at Mk and iam still little stiff!" I will be going there on Thursday anyways morning. Monday the 11th is also waterparks emh day so its to
Blizzard Beach and try out the tube ride that goes around the park. Its
easy entering the tube as i just fall into it. Its a nice peaceful and calm
ride . You get soaked by water cannons . I started out at 9am and floated
around and around. I was ready by 930 am to get out. I steer it to the stair
well and bump off it and away i go again along the path! I keep trying to do this and by 10am and family sees me and the parents see i need help. They
grab hold of the tube while i grab hold of rail and fall out.

After visiting the park, i head back to the lodge to dry sit by the pool and
dry off. In the evening, i take the bus to Mgm for the evening emh. At Mgm
i have a early dinner at The Brown Derby and get my Fantasmic ticket . The
show is great . I have not seen it for awhile. After the show, i went on
the Great Movie Ride, The Backlot tour, and Muppet Vision 3d. I arrived at the park earlier enough to catch the afternoon parade. I also went into
the Narnida (sp) room. It is nice presentation although people rush out of
it . They probally do this because its a walkthru attraction. I went back
on Saturday to really appreciate the attraction.

The Brown Derby was nice. I ordered lobser bisque for appetitizer and the grouper fish for main course. I have not been to the Derby since 1976 . I dont know why it took me this long to go back.
The dessert was the double vanila bean creame brulee. Service was great
to. I know there specialty is the filet also but i had a filet and mac and cheese at Jiko 2 nights before. I like decor at the Derby to.

I love the filet with mac and cheese at Jiko. I had it last summer when visiting just for dinner. I ordered it well done then which was a mistake. This time it was medium.

LOL!!! Oh, yea, the fillet. That was good - but the MAC AND CHEESE itself was actually my favorite - so, too, the smashed pototoes they serve with the chicken. I'm not even a big chicken fan, but I ordered it again later in the week just to get the smashed potatoes!!!

Let's hear it for the carbs!!!
