Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

We are headed to Yacht Club in about a month. Does anyone know if the first floor rooms are open yet? We stayed there with our two dogs back in June and they were not available. My understanding is that they usually place pets on the first floor, which would make things a bit easier than being on the 3rd floor and making the long trek to the elevators and outside.

Either they found something really wrong, they're pairing down the construction crew because they're needed elsewhere more, or this quarter's spreadsheet numbers are looking bad and they need to spread out costs.
More likely just normal exterior refurbishment for resort after 35 year of service. I am sure the major expansions at MK, and AK are also a consideration in the overall plan / cost.

For example they really delayed the refurbishment of SAB as long as they could but it had to happen sometime, and this year was the year.

Guess we will use this refurb as an excuse to try another resort for 2026. Will have to give this some thought🤔
This type of maintenance work might start for your resort that you want to switch to in 2026. It seems that there is always work to improve the resort experience for the future stays. Just keep bobbing and weaving.

Everything is being updated. I was at YC in March and the rehab was outside my 5th floor balcony. If you’re out of the room at 9 AM and back around 2-3 pm then go to the pool it’s not a bother. During my 5 day stay I was not bothered once by their work. If you like a resort stay with it. When I was there SAB was been rehabbed and I still made the best of it headed to the smaller pools. So I had work outside my room and the SAB down and still had a wonderful time because I love the resort. We will be back in December 2026 rehab or not.

Yikes... Yacht refurb extended through late 2026 and Beach through late 2027. "Routine exterior maintenance."
Do you happen to know if everything on the lake side currently looks as messed up as it does in the photos included in this linked article?
I was just about to book The Nantucket Suite for a September stay thinking all of that was done. We stayed in that suite back in May and the noise was so bad we couldn’t stand to be in our room during the day, our balcony was unusable, and we were woken up earlier than preferred every day. I don’t want to make that mistake again, at rack rate no less.

EDIT: I couldn’t post without removing the link to the quoted article. It’s the one posted above by @2excited2sleep.

I believe that all the work on that section of the BC was completed around the time the SAB work was also on going and completed in July.

But with Disney there is no 100% guarantee that something might not pop up in September.

I don't know but will be there on Friday and will take some pictures and post them here.

I’m sure they found some decay and extensive work in some areas need to be performed more closely. The exterior area that they completed when I was at the YC in March was directly straight ahead of you were at the lighthouse looking at the YC. That area was completed and they also were working on the roof over the Yachtman’s so I believe that was completed. So I think it must be the extreme left side and back areas of the YC if you were looking at the YC from the lighthouse. There is a lot of shade in those areas so I am guessing it’s something they found. It’s fun to guess! Don’t know anything about the BC other than what I see on You Tube and what’s reported here.
