Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I haven't checked my countdown on my phone in a couple of weeks - life keeps getting in the way of Disney planning and dreaming, dangit! But I checked it today and...we're down to 200 days!! My ADR date is creeping up, too - Oct 2! :yay::woohoo:

I think I've got my ADR list pretty set since we're only planning a handful. There are a couple of must do's, one of which - My daughter wants to eat breakfast at 'Ohana as she loves Stitch. I've heard this is a hard ADR to get? If so, it will be the first one I try to schedule. We're also wanting to eat at Cape May for breakfast...is it difficult or pretty easy to get?

Pinkgirl I do the same calculations as you to see if we "saved" on the "free" dining:teacher:
Love snacks shopping at the end of the trip. My nieces, nephews and kids love me for it too:love:

What was your favorite meal of the trip?

Flying Fish without a doubt. It was so good we cancelled dinner at Mama Melrose at Hollywood Studios so we could go back.

Opinion question , just me and DH this trip so wanting king bed but wondering if that is a "waste" of a room request since so few available at BC ? My other wishes are full balcony and higher floor . Thoughts anyone ?

You can always ask. I think if you prioritize your requests to make it clear to the room assigners what is most important to you, you will not be wasting a request.

Call Disney (or have your TA) to make the following request: "Full balcony, upper floor please. King bed if possible"

Since most king rooms only have an occupancy of 2 or 3 people, there are only limited parties who can get one of these rooms, so as a couple, your odds are increased.

I think Full Balcony and Upper Floor are still options on the online checkin, although honestly, I have lost track. I believe the only way to request a king bed is to phone it in.

King bed is still an option on the Beach Club check in list. But you are limited to two choices.

thanks for your replies

All of you guys/gals are great.. We have 113 more days until our stay at Yacht Club for the Dopey Challenge and I keep learning new things.. :) This is very helpful for us that usually stay at the mods (POFQ) and are stepping up our game.. :)

Good luck in the Dopey! Enjoy the bling. DW and I will be over in the BCVs only running the half....our 12th. We'll be rooting you all on between mile 24 and 25! :worship:

I'm not crazy enough to run the Dopey.. My wife and her friends are though.. By the way.. My wife is a Butler alum.. :) Nice to see another Big East(er) on here.. :) I'll support Providence from now on unless they are playing Butler.. lol.

Hi, everyone. Longtime lurker (in this thread), first-time poster. We stayed at BC way back when ('99 or '00, I forget which - whatever year they did the Millennium Celebration in Epcot). Next year will be a combination family reunion/my parents' 50th anniversary, so we're going for F&W in October '17 and staying at YC. I've already booked the room (standard view) as we loved BC and really wanted YC or BC with its proximity to Epcot. The hard part will be waiting...and waiting...and waiting.

DH's favorite WDW coffee mug and my favorite luggage tag are both from the Millennium Celebration. :)

Dee...I owe you a case of erasers at this point. We're now checking out Jan 7th and staying at an airport hotel the last night. Our flight's at 7am, so it just doesn't make sense to have a rather pricey 1 bdrm villa for a night that we will only get to sleep in it a few hours. (And it saves us around $500, so there's that.)

I know I won't want to leave Disney, but I'm being all practical and grown-up. :-)

No worries! Virtual erasers are on sale this time of year.

Saving that kind of money makes a lot of sense. Plus, you will get extra sleep being right at the airport for your early flight.

:thumbsup2

Can't wait to see the new rooms at the BC and I chose CL as this will be a week after my 50th BDay... so I'm going all out for me too! Will do Poly CL post cruise as we come back on NYE... didn't want to spend my time flying back across the country on NYE.

What a fantastic celebration!!!

I'm no expert on the Poly. Will you be able to watch the MK fireworks from the CL lounge?

:woohoo:

Yacht Club room 3112 (tennis court view - I need to resize the tennis court photo, but cant on my new Windows 10 laptop)

Thanks for the pictures.

Bummer on the picture issue. Did any photo editing apps come with your system? I can open both Paint and Photos when I right click on a picture. I use Paint when I am resizing.

I have the picture of the tennis court at night that you posted. If you have a daytime one and you want me to post it, you can email it to me at beachclubdee at yahoo.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1.

Sounds like a fabulous trip! Waiting is tough, but just think of all the planning fun for the next year!

:cool1:

Oh - should have included this in previous post: What is the current liquid beverage container situation? Handles or no handles?

Please add us to the Be Our Guest List...

March 18-March 23 BCV
DW let me add on an extra day for our anniversary trip (no kids) and fly instead of drive thanks to Southwest credits.

Not to worry about the kids we're taking her kids for their first time this November. Staying at AK-Kidani, but BC is home.

We have never stayed at the Beach Club because we always stay at the Magic Kingdom Resorts. I booked a 1 night stay at the Beach Club for our arrival day/night before we depart for our cruise to the Bahamas/Castaway Cay the next day. I plan on getting the earliest flight possible or even an over night so that we can spend as much time as possible in the Yacht/Beach Club area. Really looking forward to Beaches and Cream and lounging in the lazy river. Maybe after the family sees the area we'll convert from the Magic Kingdom resorts. So excited to get to stay at the Beach Club if only for one night :-)
