Booked September 20-28th BC standard (magical deal). I was vacillating between CL garden view vs standard with
DDP, and we decided DDP worked better with our current eating patterns.
We have touring plans for room views, but I would love a personal recommendation. We really want a king bed both for space purposes with a toddler and because we like it that way. Non-utility/roof/parking view would be a bonus, but obviously not expected. Any good room numbers to share?
I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.
As far as room requests, we recommend that you ask for what you want in words rather than room numbers. That way the room assigner knows what is important to you if the rooms you have requested are occupied during your stay. King beds are in limited supply at the resort, so that should be your primary request. Will you be requesting a full balcony?
"King Bed, please. Full balcony if possible"
As far as views, by definition, a standard view overlooks either the parking lot or will have a rooftop view. For a sample of views from various categories, visit the Beach Club room view thread.
Beach Club Room Views
After reading numerous posts and reviews, I still have a question regarding our 10 nights stay at the Beach Club and a gluten allergy (DH is celiac).
So, we are planning to stay 10 nights at BC and will not do any TS for breakfast this time. We will be hungry before park opening and do not want to prepare and eat breakfast in our room every day. Options seem very slim: Plastic eggs, dessert and maybe GF bagel at the Marketplace.
Anybody went through this?
Any solid options in the World showcase?
Maybe at the Swan and Dolphin?
Ideas beside using our own food?
I guess we were just lucky with our other resort choices in the past...
I have not personally had to deal with a gluten allergy during family trip, but I have tried to compile information from others who are following a GF diet or have other allergy concerns.
Fruit is available at BC Marketplace (both whole and cut up), yogurt and oatmeal are also available. Not sure if these items are GF or not. The Ale & Compass may have some GF breakfast selections in the morning hours.
I don't think I have a more recent BC Marketplace Menu picture, this is from 2012, I believe. I haven't personally tried the eggs, so I can't comment on their quality.

There is some very useful info posted, such as

If you have any tips about dining safely at the resort for people with food allergies, gluten-free diets or lactose intolerance, please share them on the main thread and I will post the info here. Thanks!

"We had breakfast twice at the Captain's Grill and I was able to get gluten free Mickey waffles one morning and gluten free toast another morning. Both times I had ordered the breakfast buffet, which also had plenty of gluten free choices."

"AK has a special diets kiosk just passed Flame Tree BBQ House - they have Gluten-free beer, baby-cakes and other gluten-free and dairy free offers. They can also let you know about allergy friendly offers around the park - the more people who use it there, the more likely the other parks get their own kiosk."

" I also have a gluten allergy (and hashimoto's thyroiditis) was diagnosed a while ago but have been 100% gluten free since last September. Lounge CM's and chef were great in pointing me towards gluten free options. They will bring you special gluten free cookies / brownies upon request, these were simply delicious. The chef also volunteered to prepare shrimp or chicken gluten free during evening offerings. I appreciated the offer, but was fine with things already provided. Only bummer is the homemade chips are not gluten free but I found many other options especially in the mornings."
From Best Aunt, August 2015
"Gluten-free goodies in Beach Club Marketplace:
In the refrigerator section where they have the cupcakes, they had the four pack of brownie bites with frosting. I believe they try to call these "cupcakes" in other parts of WDW. In the past I have also seen them at Boardwalk Bakery, the allergy food kiosk at Animal Kingdom theme park, and the refrigerated grab and go section of The Mara counter service restaurant of Animal Kingdom Lodge's Jambo House.
There also were several types of gluten free individuallly packaged cookies. I think I bought two different types of chocolate chip cookies. These were on the end of the counter where you would order food.
I don't know if they had other things as well. A friend had invited me to dinner in her timeshare and I didn't want to arrive empty-handed. I knew she was gluten free so I was looking for some dessert options."
August 2015-
