Debating between either mid-late September trip (currently booked at CSR in business class, and we love it there) or a week surrounding the W&D half in November at Beach Club. It is me, hubs, and 2-year-old son for 8 nights with hoppers and DDP, both of which we utilize well. We are also wondering if Club Level view room would be worth the extra money ($115/night) - the on-site counter service options are not so thrilling at YC/BC and we generally like having the extra amenities available for the inevitable ditching of plans. Do they have anything protein-based in the breakfast offerings in the lounge, or is it all sugar/bread/pastry/fruit stuff?
So it looks like I'll be back, this time to try the BC during the last couple days of F&W. I'll be splitting this trip with the Poly as the magical agency had nice rates on both (garden view CLs).
So now I need help with room selectionI'm hoping for a full balcony with a nice view of the lake. I remember when I booked YC I may have requested Wedding Gazebo side for this. Can anyone help me in what I should put on the reservation?
Thanks!
Has anyone stayed in a Deluxe Room at YC before? This will be our first stay in this room type at YC (we've done Deluxe room at WL) and I am wondering about a couple of things.
1. Is the balcony access through the sitting area or the bedroom area?
2. Can you access the bathroom from the sitting area directly if the doors between the bedroom and sitting area are closed?
3. We prefer to be closer to the swan/dolphin side with a direct boardwalk view. I understand that this category of rooms is very limited. Does anyone know if this type of view is even possible for a deluxe room?
Thanks in advance for any insight!
Coming back to BC for a short weekend March 11-13 for my first ever Flower and Garden Festival! Very much looking forward to going 'home'!
Thanks to my generous (if sometimes crabby) brother, we will now be doing a split stay in August with his family. 2 nights at OKW then BC for a week using the magical deal
Just a short update on our trip. The weather is beautiful and we are enjoying our pool time! We have eaten at Yachtsman for our anniversary dinner, delicious as always, Rose and Crown, very good, and Cape May for Breakfast. I finally convinced my husband to get his picture taken with characters! We saw Aurura and Tink on the path from the International Gateway last night. My grand children will be surprised to see Popa with them!
Spoke with a cast member at the desk up here last night and he said they are "streamlining" checkin. Do it on line and come right up stairs. If I had gotten notification before my trip that my magic band would have worked I would have done it. I never do online checkin when staying club level but I think they want you to now so you go right upstairs when no greeters are out front, because eventually they will be totally eliminated
And for those who want to know about outlets - there are two outlets and two USB ports on the nightstand, two outlets and two USB ports on the desk, four outlets and four USB ports on the dresser, two outlets on the wall next to the bed, two outlets next the the daybed, and two outlets next to the sink. And two more outlets next to the coffee maker.
Just a bit of trivia - yesterday we walked from the entrance of the YC to DHS to see the fireworks. I tracked the exercise with my Fitbit and it recorded 1.15 miles. On the way back to the room I tracked it again. Since our room is close to the secret exit (room 1501) we walked past the Boardwalk clown pool and the Boardwalk bridge. It recorded .99 miles, just under a mile. So if your room is near the Epcot end of the resort, then the walk is shorter by walking past the clown pool.![]()
I don't know the answer, but I really want to do the afternoon tea! We are also looking at either July or Aug. What week are you going in Aug? We are also tossed between the BC and YC, leaning towards BC since YC may be under renovations. Decisions, decisions......
Just wanted to say that we were just at BCV in mid-October 2015 and plan to be back in BCV in mid-November 2016.
I am very interested in trying Crews Cup this trip. I don't know why we never have before. Glad to hear it is consistently good!
I guess I should have read the signs when I was there in January! Typical male, don't read instructions and don't ask for directions!![]()
Hi everyone! We'll be at the BC for the first time from 9/3-9/10 and are so excited! It will be my DH, DS (1 turning 2 during the trip) and myself. We got one of those "magical" deals that we couldn't pass up, especially knowing our little guy will get to celebrate his birthday with his best friend Mickey Mouse.
We've stayed at the GF and Poly so I'm excited to see how the BC compares, but I'm sure it's going to be as wonderful as they were. I'll be scoping out this board for tips, so many thanks to everyone for all of this great information!![]()
I have to change my date by one day on our upcoming stay at BC. We will now be there May 8th to the 14th. We now have to fly we we're suppose to drive. Our flight does not get into orlando until late Saturday night about 9:15. We are going to stay at All Star Sports first night then head to BC next morning. It's been awhile since we last took ME what time do they stop at night? Hoping we still can get ME when we land.
I recently learned that a colleague of mine is a DVC owner at BCV. We talked about the possibility of her making a res in November for us at a 2BR for October 2017. I have read a lot of posts that say that a 2BR during F&W is almost impossible, so I thought I should jump on this opportunity. ( I know it is not a guarantee that she will be able to get it, but it's worth a shot) I have known her for a while. We always talk Disney when I see her at school and I trust her. She has trip insurance and if I have to cancel ( due to my parents health issues, most likely) she would refund my money. I think this would both save me money and increase my chances of getting the 2BR.
My question, of course, is what are the downsides? I know we would only get housekeeping on the 4th day of our 7 night stay. The only thing I would miss there is the magical disappearance of the sink full of dishes every day! We usually drive, but this time we plan to fly. How would I arrange for ME? When I put the res number into MDE, can I still make ADRs at 180 days, FPs at 60, and get MBs in the mail?
I really hope this works out. Thanks for any info and advice!
Heads up!
I don't like to be the one to start rumors or fan the flames, but if you go to the DIS Rumors and News subforum you will find a thread with credible predictions that Disney ticket prices will be raised this weekend (I think price increases usually take place on Sundays).
I'm not going to guarantee that this info is correct, but I am going to purchase the park tickets for my upcoming trip tomorrow.

Now that's a pretty sight!
We are also staying at the BC for the first time, those exact dates! So exciting! We usually always stay at POR/POFQ, so staying at a deluxe is amazing. We also got the "magical deal" so this would have never happened without such a great price! I am scared that we are going to love BC too much, and won't go back to moderates! Oh my gosh what a coincidence!! I've stayed at both POR and POFQ (loved them!), Coronado, the GF and the Poly so I'm interested to see where the BC falls in line with the others. I'm sure it's going to be amazing though! I'm absolutely love EPCOT so having it at my fingertips is going to spoil me. We had first arranged to stay at the GF again because of the monorail but the BC is around $300 cheaper and that's a couple of TS meals! Plus I'm dying to try SAB. It seems every year I'm wishing the Summer away because I have a trip to WDW in the Fall lol but come on September!!We are also staying at the BC for the first time, those exact dates! So exciting! I completely agree! We always go in November, so going in September means LOTS of pool time at one of the best pools on property! We are so excited for SAB, it looks amazing. Epcot is my favorite park, so being able to walk right over is going to be great! I love Epcot when Food & Wine is not going on.. it is more peaceful and not busy at all, so I am excited to be able to walk over when I want and just enjoy all that I can! We are planning on breakfast at Cape May Café and haven't been there in years! Just knowing we are staying there and can walk right to the restaurant and not worry about transportation is great in itself! Hurry up September!Oh my gosh what a coincidence!! We just booked our trip to the BC for August! I'm literally bursting with excitement-- can't wait to spend the next few months planning and discussing with all of you!
Thanks so much Dansdad! Having just returned from a weekend in NY to help my parents out, (my dad, 88, fell, dislocated one hip and broke the other), their health and safety is always on my mind. We have always driven (from NoVA) and done RO in order to have the freedom of canceling without a huge financial loss. So, together with this offering of DVC, I am also debating flying v. driving. We really want to go in October instead of the summer this time, and therefore we won't have as much time/freedom to take days off from work. (my DD and I are teachers, but our spouses are not) At least we have until November to decide on the DVC issue! Thanks again for your input. I just feel like this may be the only way to increase our chances of securing a 2BR during F&W.You've pretty much covered the biggest downside, having to cancel.
You can always pay for more full housekeeping services.
You will have a reservation number so you would arrange DME by calling them or online using your reservations number
Yup.![]()
Hey all,
During our trip in April we have a "night out" planned to Disney Springs where our MIL watches the kids at the hotel (we're at the "Beach" side). Since we have the whole afternoon "off" planned, we already are planning on doing a Hurricane Hanna's lunch while we all hang by the pool, and the Marketplace options for dinner don't really appeal to the kiddos.
What's the best "take out" option for dinner in Boardwalk area (if any) that we could set up my MIL, our 9 yr old son and 2 year old daughter with prior to us taking off for the evening? Does ESPN do take-out (and as someone who has walked by ESPN probably hundreds of times in my life but never actually ate in there, would it be worth it?)
Thanks!
We also booked a standard view through a 'magical' TA for our 2 week trip in August/Sept 2014 and booked a standard view. We ended up with a rooftop that overlooked the gazebo and stormalong bay and we loved our view. While we saw the rooftop (could have hopped over and walked on it), we had a large balcony and a clear view of the pool. We booked a last minute trip last month for the end of March and again booked through the TA and a standard view. Hoping to get something similar to what we had beforeHi everyone!
I just booked our trip for Nov. 11-15, and I am excited...but at the same time, I'm having some reservations. I booked through with a TA who has "magical" deals, and they are truly amazing! I never thought we'd be able to stay at BC, but because of the price, we were like "let's go for it!" However, the rooms are all SV; no option to upgrade.
The second-guessing began when I started investigating what the view is like and seeing all the rooftops. Kinda puts a damper on things. Plus the weather is always up for grabs in November - could be perfect, could be cold, so SAB could be a non-factor. BUT, EPCOT is our family's favorite park and it would be so fantastic to be able to walk there!
Our other option/choice would be POR. We stayed there once before and really enjoyed it's relaxed atmosphere and the QS with so many options.
In talking it through with DH (who really has no preference), I said that if for no other reason, it will be great to stay at a different resort, right? And, ultimately we're not really there for the view from our room. So, any other reassuring thoughts would be great!Maybe some suggestions on how to request the best SV possible (even though room request is a LONG way off!)? I've started reading through this thread trying to glean as much knowledge as possible, and I think y'all have a great community! I've made it to somewhere in the 30s

If you are coming from DHS then walk into the BC lobby and then exit out the main doors toward the parking lot. Walk along the right hand side of the BC resort and you will see the Solarium on your right. The entrance to the afternoon tea is at the gazebo entrance which you will find as you walk past the Solarium. I would guess that there are signs posted there.I need a little refresher on locations please. I'm staying at BC in August, but before then I'm having afternoon tea at the Solarium. We will be walking from DHS to get there so I'll be entering BC lobby from the Crescent Bay side. When I enter the lobby the check-in will be on my left and then I head towards the Marketplace to my right...? Past Marketplace to find the Solarium? Correct? Any place on a map I could see this? TIA!
The Solarium door in the hallway near the Marketplace is closed. You have to use the gazebo entrance of the Solarium to enter the afternoon tea. This entrance is near the villas building. You can reach the gazebo entrance by walking outside the main doors. The Solarium will be on your right. You are correct. Head down the hall to the left of the Marketplace and the Solarium will be on your left.
If you booked a garden/woods view then you will most likely get a room facing the villas building or facing the woods between the BC and Epcot. There may be a few garden view rooms on the lake side of the resort. If you booked a lagoon/pool view then you will face Crescent Lake. What type of view will we get if we added a request of 2nd floor close to the elevator?
