Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Tiered pricing is likely what is coming but I've heard some other rumors too of a digital ticket book type pricing as well. Either way it's not going to be the typical increase.
I have a couple of ten day hoppers (unused) that I am planning to upgrade to AP's in April. Hopefully it will work out, I'll be watching to see what Disney does with tickets. Or maybe they'll just go old school, up the prices and call it a day.

I'm glad to hear that the weather is good. We are arriving tomorrow and I have been checking the weather forecast ten times a day to make sure they are still predicting warm weather. We are hoping to take advantage of SAB again. It took about 25 years but I finally got DH to appreciate that pool. ;)

Have a fantastic trip and swim a couple of laps for me!!!

It's been interesting watching the issue so far everything I've been seeing points to a new ticket structure.

Is it difficult to get a lounge chair at the Stormalong Bay pool the end of April? We stayed at the YC in November 2014 and it was quiet and had no issues. Hoping to do a resort day if we get good weather.

Debating between either mid-late September trip (currently booked at CSR in business class, and we love it there) or a week surrounding the W&D half in November at Beach Club. It is me, hubs, and 2-year-old son for 8 nights with hoppers and DDP, both of which we utilize well. We are also wondering if Club Level view room would be worth the extra money ($115/night) - the on-site counter service options are not so thrilling at YC/BC and we generally like having the extra amenities available for the inevitable ditching of plans. Do they have anything protein-based in the breakfast offerings in the lounge, or is it all sugar/bread/pastry/fruit stuff?

It looks like curbside greeters are being eliminated at all resorts. I didn't bookmark the post, but I read somewhere else that the only resorts that will have lobby greeters are the Yacht & Beach Club and Grand Floridian.

:(

Disney would never dare get rid of Richard at the Grand Floridian!!!! He is part of the fixtures and fittings.

Unless you are big eaters, IMHO it's too much food with CL and the DDP. I would suggest one or the other but not both. We just returned from the YC. There were hard boiled eggs, four kinds of deli meats, and cheese, as well as oatmeal, cold cereal, milk, yogurt, fresh fruit...orange and grapefruit slices, strawberries, melons...bread, and the usual assortment of pastries and bagels. There was a lot out for breakfast, I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

I agree, I wouldn't do DDP and CL. We did it in January and really didn't end up using the lounge because we were always eating meals with the DDP. We went to the lounge maybe three times and once was for out arrival the other two were for breakfast pastries.

Only 119 days until we check into the BC. :crazy2: Ugh! Time needs to hurry up so I can be back at my favorite place!

So it looks like I'll be back :), this time to try the BC during the last couple days of F&W. I'll be splitting this trip with the Poly as the magical agency had nice rates on both (garden view CLs).

So now I need help with room selection :) I'm hoping for a full balcony with a nice view of the lake. I remember when I booked YC I may have requested Wedding Gazebo side for this. Can anyone help me in what I should put on the reservation?

Thanks!

A valid question!

Although I have been to WDW every year since 2008, it wasn't exactly planned that way... When friends ask me "Don't you go every year?" I answer "Well, yes, but I don't mean to"

Even with my recent, frequent visits, an AP would not make sense, I have only had short trips with a minimum number of tickets purchased.

Our last family trip was in July 2013 (4 Disney park days)

In 2014, I came down for the meet and I didn't even intend to go to the parks, until I was gifted with some expiring tickets.

In June 2015, I had discounted tickets included with the class trip package and I purchased a 1 day ticket for the August meet.

When I visited in January, I was a guest at the MK and then only visited the parks one other day.

And my husband and I will be there for 6 days in October, but then we don't have plans to be back any time soon. If I do come again solo within the year, it will probably just be a short trip.

So for now at least, until I become a snowbird, I think I will continue on an as-needed basis.

:goodvibes:
Not to mention the huge price jump this year for APs :scared:

Are there still greeters at the resorts? Why can't the greeters bring the CL guests to the fifth floor instead of having them wait in lines on the main floor to check in and then be brought upstairs? just a thought

:cold::cold::cold::cold::cold::cold::cold::cold::cold::cold::cold::cold::cold:
I'm actually not sure! When we stay at Poly I don't remember a specific greeter. There are CMs with leis when you come to check in, but seems they're random. Not a specific greeter like GF, BC & YC. I also can't recall one at AKL or WL. Although WL does have Rangers I don't think it's the same as a Greeter.
I may be wrong but I think those 3 are the only deluxe resorts with a specific greeter, and although not deluxe, POFQ also has a greeter.

Meat, cheese and hard bolied eggs would do the trick. We did DxDDP at AKL club level with no problem, but that was pre-toddler, when 2-hour signature dinners with 8pm ADRs was the norm!

I prefer courtyard view, which, sometimes, also provides a limited view of Crescent Lake. Courtyard view is considered garden view room category.
