Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

oh and we are also in the college application process, ughhh Cant wait to fill out the Financial aid forms in Jan.

I hated, loathed and despised completing that financial aid form...FAFSA became a curse word in our house! And because my husband farms, we had to declare the value of our farm ground...even though it was mortgaged. When I called the Help Line, I was told that we should just sell our family farm to pay for DDs' college!

On a happier note...three more "sleeps" until I'm at the YC!

No, not all rooms have daybeds. But if you have a party of 5 and your room does not have a daybed they will bring you a roll-away for no extra $$. What more info are you looking for? The first page of this thread has more detailed information than any website I have ever seen. Including the WDW website.

My wife and I are going to be heading to the Yacht Club CL on December 13th. Any word on how the Club refurbishment is going? I've been looking for pictures of how the Presidential Suite is set up for the temporary Club but haven't been able to find any. Does anyone have any info on when the Club Room (not the guest rooms) might be done or know where I can find any pictures of the temporary Club room?

Thank you!

For anyone interested in booking the Sandcastle Club, it's a bit confusing at the moment. At first, the CM I spoke to count find availability anywhere after December 4. It turns out there are two Sandcastle Clubs in the system (and presumably two of each other kids club). I assume they are turning over to the new pricing scheme and planned activities after the 4th. I'm taking my youngest there so I can hang out with my son at HS. It will be just us and whatever Star Wars things they have going on.

Because I had Star Wars on the brain, I pulled out my VHS tape with the Star Wars Holiday Special on it. Wow. I remembered it being bad but. Wow. It's really bad.

We are packing up. Our flight leaves at 9:00 tonight so we have one last full day at MK

We did the CP dinner package last night it was everything you would want to start the Christmad season'. Neil Payrick Harrus was the narrator and he was fabulous

We really hit the jackpot weather wise. Low 80's every day.

This was culture shock for a planner like me, but we really had a super time. Saw the Christmad decorations at BC, YC and the GF and they were soectacular!!!!

Your last minute surprise trip sounds wonderful. Were the parks crowded?

I really need to plan another December trip, this time staying at the BC/YC. There is a lot to do and see in Epcot for Christmas, more than even at MK. And the Epcot resorts are really decorated nicely.

Thanks for the Welcome! Yes, we'll be arriving at BCV late Saturday, Dec 5th, for 5 nights! :) So if nobody else replies then by Sunday morning DH will have scouted around and discovered if they have anything right at BC. I'll try and remember to post back here on what we find. We're both mainly straight coffee drinkers but we've been enjoying the new espresso bars and at WL they even had Almond milk for a latte, which considering some places at WDW still only serve whole milk, not even 2%, was a very pleasant surprise. With so many things shared between YC and BC I won't be too surprised if the Ale and Compass location is meant for both resorts though.

I only saw regular coffee at the BC Marketplace. DH ended up walking to A&C every morning for our coffee anyway because they open at least an hour before the Marketplace.

Bea Arthur, Art Carney, Harvey Korman, Jefferson Starship. I only made it through the first hour before I had to stop. A batch of Sunken Treasures might be needed for the second half.

This is kind of a spoiler alert, but on our last night of our August trip, the 4 of us were watching old episodes of Battle of the Network Stars on the Game Show or some such channel. It was REALLY bad, but like a car crash, we couldn't look away. On the plus side, I'm thinking of getting my hair feathered.

The bad – although we didn’t plan it, we were at Epcot Food & Wine for closing weekend. Very crowded (which I expected) and a lot of drunk adults at 2:00 in the afternoon. I definitely indulge myself but I’m talking folks who had others helping them to “walk”… This was our first F&W expereicence so maybe we just hit it wrong but I was surprised by some guest behavior.

We were there the same time as you and I agree it was very crowded as I too expected, however my adult children had been there last year and from their stories I had expected it to be far worse as far as drunks.

The “not so great” – varying levels of security at park entrances. We arrived within 24 hours of the Paris attacks (and actually attended a vigil in France at the conclusion of Illuminations). The time and effort searching pocketbooks and backpacks varied by park and by individual security officer. Sometimes, my purse was squeezed without looking inside while other times, it was unzipping each compartment and then using a flashlight and wooden rod to poke around inside.

I agree with the varying levels of security. It even varied with the same inspectors. They would empty the backpack of the person ahead of me but just glance at my purse. Even on the last day when I took a large bag with 2 smaller ones inside it I was sent through quickly while those taking food and clothes had their bags emptied

Does anyone know if there is honey for tea in the CL lounges?

:rainbow::rainbow::rainbow:

Here is a picture I took in the BC Club Level lounge in July 2013. I zoomed into my picture and the little glass jars are honey.

You may want to email IPO to ask/confirm that there is honey or to request some.
