Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Sorry asked and answered before - I know the YC rooms have an IPod docking station. Does it fit the version that is about an inch for the charger?
the ones in the other resorts we have stayed at , most recently at thePoly, were the iHome units with the dock for the old type non Lightning plugs. I don't think that they charge though. I always carry a power strip to plug in all of our chargers.

forgot to ask, can you add us to Yacht Club, December 11-14 please? Last minute last look at the Osborne Lights and our first MVMCP. It's just myself and our younger, college freshmen daughter,

Okay, shameless plug but I just wanted to see my countdown clock again.

Anyone there next weekend that sees a guy who looks a lot like Carl Fredricksen sitting around the pool or taking pictures of that train display in the YC lobby (a favorite of mine) please say hi.

Hi all..

We have 11 nights BC Pool/Lagoon View for April 29th to May 10th. We've stayed Club level with a standard view before but we're a little unsure of what to request view-wise for the pool/lagoon view. We plan to put a request for a full balcony but I'm not sure if the pool view will be too noisy at night (our ds is 9 so no worries about naps during the day.) For those with pool view, which room would you recommend? (View-wise we're fine if it's lagoon or pool but we want to make sure that it's not crazy load at night.)

We had originally booked a split stay between BC and CR (which we loved!) but my DH didn't want to have to repack and move this trip.

I would request "quiet location". Instead of trying to guess what a quiet location would be, the room assigners know their resorts very well and should be able to get you a quiet location within the Pool/Lagoon View category.

The good – MVMCP, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Toy Story Midway Mania, seeing the Osborne Lights for the first (and last time), food, and “meeting” Teena from afar. Whenever I saw Teena she was already busy with other guests and I was too shy to introduce myself.

I felt the same way, but then finally worked up the nerve to go up and chat with her for a bit. She was so gracious and kind! I'm glad I got the opportunity to meet her!

The bad – although we didn’t plan it, we were at Epcot Food & Wine for closing weekend. Very crowded (which I expected) and a lot of drunk adults at 2:00 in the afternoon. I definitely indulge myself but I’m talking folks who had others helping them to “walk”… This was our first F&W expereicence so maybe we just hit it wrong but I was surprised by some guest behavior.

We were there the same time as you, and maybe it was just timing, but we had no issues whatsoever with intoxicated people at F&W. I had read a lot of reports about it on the boards too, so glad we were able to avoid it!

The “not so great” – varying levels of security at park entrances. We arrived within 24 hours of the Paris attacks (and actually attended a vigil in France at the conclusion of Illuminations). The time and effort searching pocketbooks and backpacks varied by park and by individual security officer. Sometimes, my purse was squeezed without looking inside while other times, it was unzipping each compartment and then using a flashlight and wooden rod to poke around inside.

Agree completely!

Does anyone know if there is honey for tea in the CL lounges?

:rainbow::rainbow::rainbow:

Yes! They have individual jars just like Dee showed above.

Now I would actually pay $300 per person for that type of party. :cheer2::dancer:

Thats the first time I have heard of the room names at the Convention Centre!

Forgot to tell you. Sunken Treadures were on the menu at the CBR pool bar

I do think we are the inspiration for a new world famous Disney fixture!

Along the same lines, I just returned from a quick "we need to see the Osborne lights one more time" trip where we stayed at BWI. I know sunken treasures are on the menu board at the pool there, too, but I thought I'd ask the bartender at the Belle Vu Lounge if he could make one...his eyes got big, but then he said he remembered, and made a great one. He said no one has ordered one for at least 5 years, and asked me when was the last time I had gotten one. I told him that we got one from the pool in October, and the were on the menu board at BWI and BC/YC pools...he didn't know that. Luckily, it was great!! Loved not having to go all the way out to the creepy clown to get my ST.... :)

We just got a lot of "pixie dust" added to our reservation!!! Guest services just called me to tell me about the construction going on at the YC CL floor. They asked if I wanted to upgrade from a std view CL room at the YC to the BC lagoon view CL with a balcony room. No brainer!!!! Now I can't wait to arrive on Sunday!!! Yeah us!! Great way to celebrate our 35th anniversary.
