Way to go Nate!!
I thought I'd be ok with Maddie going away as she's always been my strong,
stubborn, independent child, but now.... not so much

.
Thanks!!!
Ben, my youngest, is my strong, stubborn, independent child.
We went to get our Christmas tree yesterday. We normally go out and tag one in October and cut it down in December. We didn't tag this year so we figured that we would take it easy and just go to a nearby lot to get one. When we told the boys the plan, Nate answered:
"But I won't be here next year..."
We cut a tree.
My wife and I are going to be heading to the Yacht Club CL on December 13th. Any word on how the Club refurbishment is going? I've been looking for pictures of how the Presidential Suite is set up for the temporary Club but haven't been able to find any. Does anyone have any info on when the Club Room (not the guest rooms) might be done or know where I can find any pictures of the temporary Club room?
Thank you!
I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.
I have not heard anything about the progress on the lounge and I haven't seen any pictures of the temporary lounge, either! I suspect it will be opening soon, hopefully by the time you are there. We don't always get much advance notice. Often it is just a post from a guest who is there informing us "Lounge opened today"

The bad – although we didn’t plan it, we were at Epcot Food & Wine for closing weekend. Very crowded (which I expected) and a lot of drunk adults at 2:00 in the afternoon. I definitely indulge myself but I’m talking folks who had others helping them to “walk”… This was our first F&W expereicence so maybe we just hit it wrong but I was surprised by some guest behavior.
We were there the same time as you and I agree it was very crowded as I too expected, however my adult children had been there last year and from their stories I had expected it to be far worse as far as drunks.
The “not so great” – varying levels of security at park entrances. We arrived within 24 hours of the Paris attacks (and actually attended a vigil in France at the conclusion of Illuminations). The time and effort searching pocketbooks and backpacks varied by park and by individual security officer. Sometimes, my purse was squeezed without looking inside while other times, it was unzipping each compartment and then using a flashlight and wooden rod to poke around inside.
I agree with the varying levels of security. It even varied with the same inspectors. They would empty the backpack of the person ahead of me but just glance at my purse. Even on the last day when I took a large bag with 2 smaller ones inside it I was sent through quickly while those taking food and clothes had their bags emptied
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts about your trip!
forgot to ask, can you add us to Yacht Club, December 11-14 please? Last minute last look at the Osborne Lights and our first
MVMCP. It's just myself and our younger, college freshmen daughter,
Will do!
Okay, shameless plug but I just wanted to see my countdown clock again.
Anyone there next weekend that sees a guy who looks a lot like Carl Fredricksen sitting around the pool or taking pictures of that train display in the YC lobby (a favorite of mine) please say hi.
Katesdad
Hope you have an absolutely magical trip!
Hi all..
We have 11 nights BC Pool/Lagoon View for April 29th to May 10th. We've stayed Club level with a standard view before but we're a little unsure of what to request view-wise for the pool/lagoon view. We plan to put a request for a full balcony but I'm not sure if the pool view will be too noisy at night (our ds is 9 so no worries about naps during the day.) For those with pool view, which room would you recommend? (View-wise we're fine if it's lagoon or pool but we want to make sure that it's not crazy load at night.)
We had originally booked a split stay between BC and CR (which we loved!) but my DH didn't want to have to repack and move this trip.
I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.
We did have a BC pool view room in 2013, and we could hear people enjoying the pool when we had the balcony door open during the day. It didn't bother us, and I didn't notice if we could hear anything at night with the doors closed, but as Dansdad suggests, request a quiet room.
Forgot to tell you. Sunken Treadures were on the menu at the CBR pool bar
I do think we are the inspiration for a new world famous Disney fixture!
Cheers!
One of my Facebook friends posted a picture of a ST she ordered from the WL pool bar yesterday.
New Year's Eve at Y&BC - just saw this in an email....

Thanks for the info! Sounds like quite the party!
Wish all of you were here...
YUM!! I have added your picture to a couple of places on Page 1.
Thanks! It is nice that he has received one acceptance. The school is not his first choice, or mine. Miraculously, our first choices are the same school!
Please add us to the list. BC Dec 15 -23. Be there soon!
I will gladly add you to the list. Your trip really is coming up soon!
Can anyone who was there for the Frozen fireworks recommend a good place around BC/YC to watch the Star Wars fireworks from please?
When we were there in August I stood in the middle of the bridge between BC and BWI and watched Illuminations and then turned around and watched the Frozen fireworks from the same spot. This is the bridge closest to the International gateway. If you don't mind a little walk, then take the walking path to DHS, the one on the BWI side of the waterway, and stand at the end of the sidewalk near the DHS parking lot. That is supposed to be a really good viewing area.
In Aug 2014, I did just what you described- Watched Illuminations from the bridge and stayed to watch the Frozen Fireworks. I found the view was a little obstructed by a tree and thought it was slightly better from the BC beach.
@iona- I have pictures and I think a link to my trip report post in either Post 13 or 14.
ETA: Here's the link
Here's a link from my August 2014 trip report with pictures of the Illuminations Fireworks and the Summer Frozen Fireworks from the Boardwalk Bridge.
