Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

So very excited!!! We were originally going to stay at Wilderness Lodge for our trip...but due to the construction going on over there, we have decided to switch our ressie to BEACH CLUB!! Though I love WL...I am over the moon about staying at BC. The more I research and read/view the more my smile widens.

Look forward to enjoying your thread and becoming part of the BC Family!! Pencil us in for October 25-29th. DH, ME and DD cannot wait for our stay!! :yay::yay::yay:

Welcome! We love WL too! My profil pic is me and my girls at the boat dock there in April. I think you will love Beach Club. It's a lovely resort!

My TA was able to get me the room discount on our one-night room-only before our package starts, so we are all set! :banana:I know a lot of people were disappointed with the discounts though :( Can't wait to be there!!!

PS, This is coming from a woman who ties fishing line to my dog's stuffed squirrel toy and dangles this squirrel toy out a second story window so the dog sees it dancing in front of the sliding glass door. He goes nuts at this sight and barks his head off. Right as the person downstairs opens the door, the toy squirrel mysteriously flies up in the air and on to the roof, out of the grasp of they dog's gnashing fangs.

Wicked. Do you have this on uTube?

Lots are going to DTD. I can't wait to check out all of the improvements that were made since last summer!

I'm looking forward to checking out DTD too! When we went in January there were still lots of walls up. I particularly want to check out the Italian ice cream place!

If that place is close to what I had in Italy I may never come home. I fell in love with pistachio gelato in Florence and was disappointed what they sold at Glace in Epcot was nothing like what I had abroad (weird taste and wrong color).

I believe they open around noon or 1:00. We think they have better burgers than B&C. Actually, I think their burgers are some of the best I've ever had anywhere. They definitely accept TIW - I used mine yesterday.

Really? Was looking for someplace on site for a late dinner but this wasn't yet on my radar. I just checked the menu on all ears and the only burger they show sounds so basic. What makes it so yummy?

Lot's of WL Lovers here. Welcome to the crowd!

I never ever say no to Tastycakes and Tastypies!!!!! I love anything chocolate and my pie choice is chocolate or cherry. Once in a while we can get some of them here now that we have WAWA but the selection is very limited. But if you have room for a real Jersey tomato, I would kill for one!!!!! Florida has no idea what a real tomato tastes like!!!!!

south Jersey here - live around the corner from farms. :P we are not bringing tomatoes...sorry! Arriving in FL on Sept 1 for Universal and switching to BC on Sept 3!

Can you please tell me when room renovations are due to be finished?..Also does anyone know if the suites there have full balconies

How crowded does SAB get late September into mid October? I was thinking of doing a 2week stay between Poly and BC. Want to do 14-15 days because we are travelling so far from Maui.
It will be me, husband, 8 year old DS and 6 yr old DD. Hubby and I havn't been to WDW since 1996!
I have been a little bummed out about how crowded the Poly pool normally is (from previous Trip reports, worse because of unchecked pool hoppers) and would like to enjoy a nice pool without being *******s to elbows with other people.

Hi Mrs. Moon. Check out first post on Page 1 for the latest in room renovations. I'm guessing you are asking about the BC? The latest reported is that all but the first floor are completed at this pont there. We know the YC is scheduled to start after BC is finished and that the BCV room renovations have been postponed to some time in the future. As far as full balconies on the suites, again I'm guessing you are asking about the BC? If these are the CL rooms that are on the non-CL floor (5th floor) a few pages back Dee indicated that at least two of these have the smaller balconies. Go back a few pages for the full report. Have a great stay!

You may not want to give up on the Poly as I thought I read that they have the new policy there with the completion of the renovation of the main pool to check for guests only like SAB does. I would suggest that the crowds at SAB would be subject to weather and crowd conditions which at that time should be ideal for swimming but with SAB being so spread out you should be okay and not be pushed around by others enjoying the accomodations. Hope you have a great stay!

Also, I am planning on coming to WDW next Fall. The Fall discounts (october 4th on) released recently don't seem comparable to other years. Would you reccommend going in September? Do most people actually pay rack rateo_O?

There was a big discussion on this very topic a page or two back on this thread. Check out what the experts are saying. I found it to be very enlightening as I always have paid rack rate because I didn't know better (until I booked a BB for this year's stay). Guess that's why I can't afford to come to WDW as often as others here do. And no, I have never received a PIN code in an email nor have I been upgraded to anything other than what I asked for which is okay with me (okay once at the YC where I was upgraded to a WV from a GV which I was very grateful for).

Mahalo katesdad! I will search around. Speaking of PIN codes, I have never gotten one until last week! I signed up at Disney about 3 months ago, don't remember exactly what for but expressing interest in going to WDW. Last week I got an Email with an Unique Offer Code for disney LAND.... not WDW, lol! Hope that means they will send one for WDW!

Sad day. My two girls go home today. Lily told me this morning when she climbed into bed with me that I shouldn't be sad. She'll be back at Christmas and we can go to Magic Kingdom and eat at the Beast's Castle and then we can eat with Donald at Animal Kingdom and then we can eat with Cinderella and Prince Charming and can we please eat with Mandy and Doc at Hollywood Studios? That kid thinks Disney 24/7 ... I'm so happy I was able to get BOG ... now I have to work on the other ones she wants.

Poor Bob won't see them again until Christmas but I'll be flying out there on August 18th so it won't be too bad for me. And then I'll be out there for Halloween too. Lily is going as Snow White, Jeanne as the evil queen and the rest of us will have t-shirts with the dwarfs' names on them. I claimed Happy.

I'm glad you will be going out there soon. I know how much you love having the girls around!

I came across this when updating the "Lily's Pad" post on Page 1 with your lobby hours today:

From Teena, June 2013:

Jeanne said Lily FINALLY likes princess stuff. She was not into the princesses at all but Jeanne got so tired of her watching the parades (a friend taped them onto a DVD for her), Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jake the Pirate, that she started putting Disney movies in the DVD player. She started with Cars and Nemo and after being sick of them being played over and over again, Jeanne put in Beauty and the Beast. OMG ... she loved it after the first hour of crying for Nemo. And when Belle dances around, Lily dances around.

I had purchased a bunch of princess dresses (of course) and one of them (the green one) is there in Vegas and the rest are here since I figured Jeanne would want her to wear them when we visit WDW. She has shown it to Jeanne but Jeanne had no interest in frilly things .... UNTIL NOW. Apparently she pointed to it after the second time of "dancing" to Beauty and the Beast and screamed "mama, mama, put on". So on it went and she danced and danced and danced. So we now have an official Disney Princess!!!!!

If yoy were doing a resort day which is the better place to eat dinner , the Captains Grill or Cape May Cafe? What else would you do for that day? Do you head too the other resorts close by to do stuff?

I think either restaurant would be fine for your resort day. I love them both. Check out Page 1, Post 7 (Dining) for menus and reviews of the two places to see if one appeals to you more than another. Your meal at Captain's Grille would likely be less expensive than the Cape May buffet.

:)

Just back.... Let me know if you have any questions. We were at BCV in a 2bdroom Villa. Construction going on in the BC still. They were doing a first floor wing on the back way to Epcot, so we passed it everyday. Front desk said BCV renovation may not start until October?? Our room was fine (if you think shabby chic), super clean and Mousekeeping was amazing. Loved the location and much less walking to our room (having stayed at BWV,AKLV, WL)

:welcome: to this thread!

Glad you had a decent trip. Thanks for sharing your feedback.

Which resort are you staying at? BC or YC?

When?

Did you try emailing club level IPO as I recommended? What did they say?

:)

:welcome:

No pool hoppers at Stormalong Bay since Magic Bands are closely checked before allowing admittance. I have only been in July and August. I don't think the pool should be too bad in the time you are traveling since that is not a popular travel time for families with kids back in school.

Let us know when you book and I will add you to the Be Our Guest list.
