Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I can't wait to try it for the second time!

:thumbsup2

The Macadamia-Freaking-Pineapple Pancakes are my FAVORITE thing to eat in the World.

:goodvibes

We had lunch at Cowfish and it wasn't too crowded. We plan on doing that again in August since they don't take reservations there.

::yes::

Macadamia-Freaking-Pineapple Pancakes are one of my MUST DO's!!! Amazing!!! My other is........the fruit plate with banana bread. I know, I know, boring!!! But it's soooooo good!!!! Richard of course will get the Tonga Toast all 3 times!!!!!

When we walked up to Cowfish, she was like the wait is only about 1 hour...:scared: One Hour?? ONLY??? Ummm,, I'll try again next year!!!!

We loved Leaky Cauldron too! Great atmosphere! My younger daughter was so excited! I used to love Blue Bayou when I went to DL. Again, atmosphere! But just can't agree with Be Our Guest. Food was ok, but there's better places to eat in WDW.

Sue, I agree with the BOG food. Went once last year, loved being inside, but the food was a no-go for us :sad2:.

So I'm staying for the first time on Wednesday at the Beach Club Resort in a club level pool or lagoon view room. I did my online check in and chose upper floor and balcony. I hope this was the right way to go as I believe I read somewhere that the club lounge is on one of the upper floors.

Oooh...you got one of the few rooms with a wet bar. This is the first time I have seen this room type, since the updates.

If you have not already done so, let the front desk know that you are celebrating. Hope you enjoy your stay and have a very happy anniversary.

I wondered if it was standard in the new rooms? It's very cool to have!! Nice counter space and huge cabinet underneath to store the snacks and extra water we brought. I'm in love with this resort!!

A couple quirks we've found:
1. Why on earth put the elevators right where people need to walk back and forth through to get to the Marketplace? We feel like we're playing Frogger every time we go through there.
2. The bathrooms are TINY and the door is so heavy it falls closed on you while you're using the sink area. Just be forewarned ;)

All club level rooms are fifth floor except deluxe rooms I think.

I love your room! A few questions...
1. What room category is it?
2. What were your requests that you got granted (since you said you didn't ask for a king bed)
and 3. Are you close to the secret entrance? If not, how far of a walk are you from Epcot?
Thanks in advance! Have a wonderful trip!

Question: Where at BCR is the refillable mug station at.

Never mind, I found it listed in the beginning of the thread.

Refillable Mugs may be purchased and filled at the Beach Club Marketplace (self-serve station), Beaches and Cream (CM assisted service, get into the ice cream takeout line), Hurricane Hanna's (self-serve station) and the Ale and Compass Lounge in the Yacht Club resort (coffee/tea self-service, juices and soda behind the bar, until 12 Noon)

Lovely room with a nice view. Was there still construction in the lobby and second floor area?
I didn't see any in the lobby and we haven't been to the second floor. To be honest, we were only in the lobby when we checked in, and I was in Disney euphoria so I wasn't really paying attention, haha! I'll look today!

Our room category is garden view. Our requests online were high floor and full balcony. I also called and added a request to be on the lake side of the resort. The CM on the phone sort of questioned that request bc we had a garden view, so I explained that I was pretty sure many of the garden view rooms were on that side so she added it!

We are about halfway from the lobby to the secret entrance with one caveat...... The secondary elevator (that we are right near) is non operational right now, so we'd have to go all the way back to the main elevators and then around which makes it not close at all. (Right? Unless there's some other secret elevator I don't know about!) We haven't been to Epcot yet, but I'll let you know once we do! Probably today!

If you have an Aldi near you, go get the water lily & aloe jar candle. It smells just like the BC lobby!!

Thanks for posting this!!!

Ours was for December and we received the construction/Reno letter in May. That's when we moved to WL.

Thank you for the info!

So excited to be staying at YC 7/14-7/16. Just a short relaxing trip. Really wanting to just enjoy the resort and SAB. We do have a few fast passes, but not looking to fight the crowds in the park. This is my favorite resort, sad they are going under a reno soon, but as PP stated, it does need it. It also forced me to book BC for our food and wine trip 10/10.

:welcome:

Enjoy your trip!!!

I'll add you on to the Be Our Guest list for July and October.

:woohoo:

This will be my first time staying in the EPCOT/Boardwalk area. Some of our nights, the parks will all close by 9:00 PM - we're a party of 13 adults with some birthday celebrating to do! :-) After the parks close, what are some of your favorite places near the BC/YC to have a nightcap? Crew's Cup Lounge looks like a good start, since it's open until midnight. I don't think everyone in our group will want to pay a cover to get into Jellyrolls, and we would likely want some place that's quieter.

All this talk about Kona Cafe has me so excited - we'll be having my 40th birthday brunch there! I've never been!

Yes, the Crews Cup is nice, and quiet. The food is decent if you want something to nibble on in addition to your nightcap. We were there after our DIS meet with around that number of people last August. We kind of overwhelmed the kitchen, though.

I think I know where your room is so there should be a fire exit - staircase near your room. I know it is a few floors, but going down shouldn't be too bad. You can cut through the quiet pool area to get to the International Gateway. It is the fastest way to go from your room to Epcot if you don't mind walking down the stairs. :)

By the way, you probably have a one of a kind room - congratulations. It looks really nice. :)

Super! We don't mind stairs, so we'll look for them :) And thanks for the room props! I am just so in love and overjoyed. We needed this so much this year!!

One question! Has anyone already purchased the adorable new Beach Club coffee mug? I had my heart set on it before getting here, but then I saw it in person. It's tall, but it looks super narrow and I'm wondering how many ounces it holds? It doesn't say on it anywhere. If someone could let me know that would be awesome! Thanks!!

Only 10 days now until we arrive at the BC! Would you recommend that I do online check in or wait until we get there?

I have booked a garden view room, and I would like to request a renovated room on a high floor, with full balcony and a view of the Epcot fireworks.

:thanks:

4 more days to go! DH & DS actually started to pack-I won't have to harass them, now to get DD on board! Maybe we'll see some of you who are staying CL-we'll be the family with the 21 yr old DD with the tiara and the 19 DS looking disdainfully at the 21 yr old! I'm willing to look for/answer any one's questions but can't guarantee same day service-but will certainly try!

You will be assigned a room several days ahead of time whether or not you do online check in. If you request a full balcony and a higher floor then that would automatically include a renovated room since all the higher floors have been finished for months. :)

You can always go to the front desk and ask for a room change if you don't like the room you are given. We like to do online check in because the resort will know what time we are arriving. Our room has been ready for us when we arrived around 11am ever since they started the online check in process. :)

OMGosh..... It's smells just like the Beach Club!! They only had one left and they weren't sure if they would get more in. The kid at the register asked if I wanted to leave my name & number so he could call me if they got more in, I think he just wanted my digits :p. Thanks for letting us know

Darn...Why am I starting to read on the DVC boards people saying the BCV refurb has been pushed off for a year? :( I was hoping to get a newly refurb'd BCV room for my honeymoon in April. I keep reading how badly the BCV rooms need a refurb. Has anyone stayed at the BCV recently? Are the rooms really that much in need of a face lift that you would suggest NOT going to the BCV for a honeymoon? Hopefully it simply isn't true that the refurb has been pushed off a year.

We stayed there in January 2014 and I thought it was in desperate need of a refurb. I won't be back until it's done.

That's rather disappointing. The BCV is our #1 choice if we are able to get a spring discount that would put it in our price range. We currently have a YC room booked but being in a Villa seemed great for a honeymoon.
