Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

It's a HAPPY Disney day for my DD (22). She graduated college Friday night and it taking a trip with two of her friends to Disney to celebrate. As part of her grad celebration I upgraded them from a moderate to a Deluxe for part of her gift. They choose Beach Club and have been very excited for the past several months as the trip has approached.

This morning she gets a call from WDW. They have been upgraded to CLUB level at the Yacht Club for the next 8 nights!! CRAZY AWESOME!! I've been 31 times never have had an upgrade and she is taking two girls who have never been and magic strikes!!

What a great way to start what I hope will be a truly magical vacation for them!!

:welcome: to this thread!

Congrats to your daughter for her graduation. And congratulations to her and her friends for the awesome upgrade.

I have a question, not necessarily exclusively a BC/YC question, but everyone here is so helpful. My fiancé and I do not drink pop. What other options will we have to refill our refillable mugs? What other options have you guys seen at quick service locations? I like unsweet tea and we will both do water or lemonade.
I don't drink pop either, but enjoy their brewed ice tea and mix it with the lemonade. Some resorts have Lemonade and some have the Pomagranite Lemonade, my fav.

hi lynne, so sorry for that... i am a relatively newer poster and was just referencing things how i have seen them referred to. won't do it again and don't know what infraction points are but i am sure i don't want them. :)

No worries :) I know that's a pretty common reference. We do try to keep up with keeping the boards clear of it, as it's really not right for our board resources to be used to promote businesses that don't follow the rules here, but it takes a lot of moderator time to remove them all.

Natebenma have you heard from Teena? Haven't see her post anything for awhile and was wondering how she was doing and if she moved into her new house? She is probably busy with the new house and helping out at school and I'm sure Lily is keeping her BUSY!

Yes, you can get iced tea, lemonade, some flavors of powerade, hot coffee in addition to pop/soda.

Thanks for the pictures Dee! I am not a Gold Peak fan, but I think I may like that white tea with citrus! We both definitely like powerade, so that will be great. Lemonade is always a good option, to.

The lemonade they offer in the drink dispenser is diet lemonade. The pomegranate lemonade that they serve in the restaurants is diet lemonade, too. One of my biggest complaints about WDW is the lack of real lemonade in the parks and resorts. But you can buy real lemonade in the BC Marketplace. They sell it by the bottle.

We may have to try the diet lemonade... I don't know if we have ever seen that or tried it. We usually just like the Minute Maid stuff from soft drink dispensers. Thanks!

Thanks Sue! I like the Brisk half tea, half lemonade drink, so I may have to try this as well! Thanks for the info!

Our friends arrived at BCV this afternoon and got a renovated studio

AWESOME!!!

If you wouldn't mind, could you ask them to PLEASE take a picture of the Murphy bed. Up and down. We have not yet seen photos...

They can email to me and I can post- to my regular email or to beachclubdee at yahoo

AWWW! Thanks for asking.

Teena and I are in touch about once a week. She has been busy. I have been busy. I meant to post an update, but as some of you have probably noticed, I am having trouble keeping up here. This is our busy season for programs at the farm so I am working a lot, then most of my spare time is spent back in my home town, with my dad and with my in-laws, dealing with some health issues. And of course, I helped the middle school set up 10 MDE accounts and book fast passes for the 100 plus people going on the 8th grade class trip next month.

Teena has been helping her daughter Jeanne and some of the other teachers with grading papers. Their new house was finished a couple of weeks ago and they started moving things in last week. It looks BEAUTIFUL in the Facebook pictures I have seen. They have the apartment until September, I think, so they can take their time and get everything set up the way they want it.

Also a couple of weeks ago, Teena had another issue with a painful kidney stone, so that put her out of commission for awhile.

Thank you so much for updating us- I have been thinking about Teena lately. We are planning a spring trip to Las Vegas, I think I might have to look her up!!!

Everyone looks so happy.

Very happily planning our August trip to the Beach Club! 8/17-8/24. We stayed at BCV for three nights in 2013, but definitely looking forward to a whole week at BC. Please add us to the list :). Thank you!!!

Is there a list anywhere of agencies we can reference? Or is it simply a case of you can only mention Dreams Unlimited by name, and refer to the others as "my travel agent".

I think a lot of people on this thread are using the same agency for an agent exclusive deal this year, so curious as to the extent it can be discussed.

At the YC now, having a great trip. I had been all *worried* about getting a shared balcony or looking at the loading dock (we booked SV CL). Well, when we checked in and got to our room I saw we not only got a regular balcony and daybed, but also were upgraded to garden view! So we are looking at the gazebo and can see crescent lake and the boardwalk if we look left! It's also super close to the lounge, just 2 doors down from the CM desk ( but there is also some hallway, so we aren't too close for it to be annoying). I couldn't be happier. We also spent a lot of yesterday at Stormalong Bay, and I can say it is as good as its hype!

There's no list. If you use the full URL of the business (www.sometravelagent.com), as per board rules, then the word filter solves the problem. Business that may be discussed here will appear normally, those that may not will be replaced by asterisks. So the list, essentially, is in the word filter.

If you don't wish to use the URL, then use a generic reference that doesn't identify the business, and doesn't use part of the name in an attempt to bypass the filter. "My travel agent" works, or "the agency exclusive deal," etc.

One that always works www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com :love2:

I can't remember the last time I was here on this thread! :faint: The past few months have been very chaotic and hectic, and I haven't had much time to work on Disney planning. Well, things are starting to slow down a bit so I can get back into planning mode. We'll be staying at BC for 5 nights in September, and we can't wait! We have stayed at Beach Club before, but it was always in a studio in the villas. Now, we'll be staying in a room in the Beach Club itself. Very exciting! :woohoo:

That's the best explanation I have seen so far. I really appreciate the kind and educational tone along with the suggestions as to how properly keep contributing without breaking the DISboards code. Thanks Lynne.
