Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I used it in November and got the room I had requested. I wasn't staying at BC though, but POR. I will be using it again for this years BC trip. Doesn't hurt.

Thank you! I figured I put a request in thru them... Why not? LOL I already have my requests noted on my reservation too, plus we are actually staying at the BCV for the a night an then transferring over to the BC for a week so I figured that morning I just go down to the front desk and ask them if they can please meet my requests. Fingers crossed.

I had requests noted on my reservation, did the room request fax through TP's, and used online check-in and made requests through that and they met all of my requests. So while it is not guaranteed, it never hurts to do it. Good luck! We are hoping we get good luck this trip, but we have 3 rooms booked, so I am a little nervous about that.

Just seen that Star Wars Dessert Party dates have been extended into May. Not every night though.

Thank you for letting us know! :) I tried to book the party for May and I'm getting the message "we are unable to check for available tables at this time." I tried it for other dates in May and am getting the same message. If I try for April it works though. Is anyone else getting this message?

Yes. They haven't gone live yet. Should later today or tomorrow.

Thank you, that is what I was thinking. I appreciate the confirmation!

I'm not able to be on DIS 24 hours a day, so I'm hoping that I get lucky enough to be able to jump on and switch around my FP when Frozen and Soarin' become available.

We plan to go to Epcot for 2 days, so as you say, with the Tier 1 restrictions, we plan for Soarin' one day and Frozen on another.

As always, we will try to keep an eye out for you. Anyone seeing that FP is posted for Frozen (Ride and or Princess meet and greet) or the new Soarin ride please feel free to post o this list and also Private Message helenb from the Dis Boards mailbox feature.

Disney continues to rain on my parade with all the price gouging. Here is a link to yet another article discussing the reasons for the shift in focus from the park experience to a profit oriented focus as evidenced in the domestic Disney Parks. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/disney-shakeup-cost-cutters-gaining-090000488.html#

Here is an idea of some of the prices from the THIRD Disney Dining price increase in a few weeks:
  • Regular Fountain Drink is now $3.29, up from $2.99.
  • Large Fountain Drink is now $3.69, up from $3.29.
  • Apple Juice is now $3.29, up from $2.79.
  • Orange Juice is now $4.29, up from $3.99.
  • Chocolate milk is now $2.69, up from $1.99.
  • Low-fat milk is now $2.69, up from $1.99.
  • Dasani Bottled Water is now $3, up from $2.75.
This is just to give some of you an idea of how much you will be paying for just these items. Food prices are very high as well and cheaper quality ingredients have been intentionally substituted in recent weeks to make room for additional profit. Multiply this by the number of people in your family and you can see how expensive just the above reference items in a quick service meal have become.

As I have said before I really like taking an UBER car ride to Walmart where I can get just about anything I need (except Matthew McConaughey) to try and save money on my trip. Matthew is going to have to start making even more movies and car commercials where he goes out to eat with dogs if I am to continue to afford these Disney trips. I know one thing for sure, he isn't taking those dogs to eat at a Disney park... it's too expensive!

Hi there, I have a few q's about the pool activities... can someone tell me what the Changing of the Guard and Stormalong Bay Pool party entails?

Also, does anyone have a review of the tie dye? Can you bring your own item to dye or do you purchase something as part of the activity (a shirt I'm assuming)?

Thank you!

Can anyone help? Bumping in case it was missed, thanks!!

The changing of the guard is just when the Lifeguards at Stormalong Bay change shifts. There is a line dance performed by the lifeguards that are leaving while the next shift is at their posts guarding the pool.

I'm not sure about the tie dye stuff.
Here is a picture of what scientists think may be happening during the tie dye event

See Post #4 on Page 1 - there is a quick summary with cost and photos (although I like NM's version too)....

Thank you! I don't know how I missed that... I always refer back to the faq post first but I only saw info about SAB and the April schedule. I need to read more clearly, thank you!!

I had a quick ? I was planning on having an amazon prime delivery sent to the beach club before we arrive with diapers, formula etc. I would use garden grocer but I went thru their website and they do not offer the formula/diapers I use for my son.

When I have the package shipped what should I address it to.

I just read about having to pick up the package at the convention center???

If so what are the hours you can pick it up from? We would be arriving at the beach club around 10am. If our room is not ready and we want to go to the parks all day I do not want to be running back to make it for when the convention center closes.

thank you!

Last October I had an oxygen concentrator Fed Ex'd to the BC. It was delivered to the Convention Center receiving area. We arrived on a Saturday about 10 A and the Convention Center was closed for the weekend. After much panic, a supervisor was located that found my medical equipment, but it was neither easy nor convenient. I am not sure of the hours, but I was under the impression it is not always open on weekends. I would check the official web site.

Morning SAB peeps! Just saw on FB that Soarin' FP will be opening up tomorrow and the ride is scheduled to open on June 17th. I hope that's the truth and everyone gets a spot!! Good luck friends!

Apologies for posting this before I finished my coffee!

OMG I just got anxiety reading about this. I'm glad someone was able to get it for you.

It does not sound very convenient to ship stuff to a resort????? anyone else have any experience Im not sure what to do.

we decided to rent a car maybe I am better off going to store first before we get on property?????
