Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Thanks for letting us know about your trip. I'm glad it went well.

So are you back at the BC/YC for your bounce back in June, or somewhere else?

:goodvibes:

As of this very minute we are at AKL Savanna View, but I think we will switch to BC or BW for June. Husbands are not going into the parks after the cruise so having all the amenities by BC/YC/BW might win over looking at animals. :) I will let you know!

I know this answer must be on this thread somewhere, and I have already looked at page 1 for the answer. Trying to decide on our vacation for next year and trying to decide between a studio and a 1 bedroom room at the BC. Really don't care about the view. I know that the studio has a kitchenette, other than that what is the difference? Is the studio bigger? Does the studio have a king or queen bed? Do all studios have balconies?

:rainbow::rainbow::rainbow:

One bedroom villas are much larger than a studio. I've copied an "official" description from allears.net below, which details the differences. The studios all have a queen bed and sleeper sofa that sleeps 2. All studios have a balcony, some larger than others and the first floor villas have patios.
Hope the attached helps!

The Studio Villas come with one queen-size bed and a double sleeper sofa. Four adults plus one child under age three in a crib can be accommodated. There is a wet bar with under-counter refrigerator, microwave oven and coffeemaker, ceiling fan, color cable television, and private balcony (or porch if you are on the first floor).

The One-Bedroom Villas have a master suite, living room, fully equipped kitchen, and private porch or balcony. Accommodates four adults plus one child under age three in a crib. The Master suite has a king-size bed and private bath with a whirlpool tub. There is a Fully equipped kitchen, ceiling fans in living room and bedroom, stack-style washer and dryer, color cable television with DVD player in living room and color television in each bedroom, queen-size sleeper sofa in living room and a private balcony or porch. One sink is located next to the whirlpool tub. The 2nd sink is located in the room with the shower. The toilet is also in this room, but has a door which can be closed. The Master closet has a small safe for valuables.

Are you asking about a regular resort room at the Beach Club versus a studio at the Beach Club Villas? If that is your question then basically, all the studios have balconies while only about 50% of the rooms at the BC have full balconies. The studios have a queen bed and a sofa sleeper. I don't know whether the upcoming refurbishment will include one of the new Murphy beds that they are adding to some of the DVC studios at other resorts. The Beach Club rooms will have two queen beds, some will also have a daybed bed. Some of the BC rooms have a king bed instead of two queens. The studios are a little narrower and longer and not as nicely decorated as the BC rooms. The BC rooms are actually much nicer rooms. If price was the same and you didn't care about the kitchenette or a guaranteed balcony then I would choose the BC rather than the studio.

I read the OP to request the difference between the Studio at BCV and a 1 BR Suite at BC...could have misread...SInce I don't have experience with either, I can't answer but the Disney room resv site has pretty good descriptions...

Deluxe Studio
Views of Crescent Lake, Stormalong Bay, Disney's BoardWalk or Courtyard
1 Queen Bed and 1 Double-Size Sleeper Sofa
Sleeps up to 4 Adults

1 Bedroom Suite - Club Level Access
Views of Disney's Beach Club Resort Gardens, Woods or Crescent Lake
1 King Bed and 1 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa
Sleeps up to 4 Adults

I am very excited that we have booked our first stay at BC May 24th-30th. We are most looking forward to afternoons at SAB, and using our hoppers to spend evenings in Epcot. I got a great "Magical" deal which was less than what POR would have been even with a discount. I have been reading through this very informative thread, and I'm anxious to learn as much as I can about the BC before our stay.

We are a family of 5. Will we be sure to get a room with a day bed, or will I need to request a cot? Also, we have booked a standard room and have requested a full balcony and an upper floor. Are there any other requests that I should be making? I am interested in the area of BC with the "secret" exit close to Epcot.

Checked out today and am now in Fort Lauderdale. Driving to Homestead-Miami Speedway tomorrow to see my favorite NASCAR driver in his last race before retirement.

Which is a long winded way of saying that the CMs are all saying BCV renovations are tentatively scheduled to begin in January 2016. No more definitive info - sorry!!!

Studio versus 1 BR villa: the studio is one room. The 1BR villa has a bedroom, with a door that closes. It also has a living room. There is a kitchen which opens to the living room; no wall between them. Kitchen has full size fridge, oven with stove, microwave, dishwasher. The cupboards contain dishes, glasses, silverware and stuff to use for cooking. also washer and dryer.

Studio has one bed plus sleeper sofa. Wet bar type sink, small fridge, microwave. Paper plates, plasticware.

The 1 Br is MUCH nicer than the studio. Also more expensive.

Studio versus regular room: someone compared above. Personally I prefer a studio to a regular room. It feels more like home to me. I like the couch rather than the second bed.

Hi everyone......We have been here since last Saturday. Last night we came in late from EMH at MK and we found a ton of workers putting up all of the resort Christmas decorations. This morning...poof, they are all up and its just beautiful. For those of you on your way to BC/YC its full on Christmas!

We just missed them then My daughter and I stopped in Monday looking for them and then I had breakfast there with my boys on Tuesday. When do they come down? My husband and I are staying there Jan 3rd to 5th. is this too late? We are staying at POFQ starting on the 29th will they be up then?

I would request a room near the single elevator.

Awesome! This will also be our first stay at BC and the deal also came out A LOT cheaper than what we would have paid at POR (where we usually stay)! So far this thread has been so great and informative! Staying somewhere new is so exciting and really helps pass the time waiting!! Happy planning!

We have 3 rooms booked, and I am pretty sure one of our requests will be for full balconies. I am trying to get a jist of the layout of the resort to know what else to request. I kind of want a higher floor also.

I think I have asked this before but not sure if I had gotten an answer or I cant remember :crazy2:. Does anyone know if there are any standard rooms located on the first floor at BC?

I'm pretty sure that we have concluded that there are no standard first floor rooms at the Beach Club. Standard views are defined by looking at rooftops or with a view of the parking lot. The first floor has no rooms with rooftop views and the first floor space at the Beach Club facing the parking lots is all public space (lobby, restaurants). The first floor rooms in the wing near EPCOT are mostly garden/woods view, although a few may be water view.

:)

Also Woods/Garden view is available for 1st floor. :goodvibes

When I asked a cm the same thing, I was told no, because all 1st floor rooms basically look at something green, so they are considered garden view.

Though I have reserved twice for standard view and been placed on the first floor as an upgrade. Once with gazebo view and once facing the water.

Hi we are looking to go back to BC the week of Labor Day since we got a great deal. I know that it rains a lot in Sept. What can we expect? Is it usually quick down pours or does it rain all day ? We usually go in Oct and love that weather but thinking we might take advantage of the lower crowds this time. Thanks

As a Florida resident, living about an hour from WDW, I can tell you that if it rains, it's usually a moving thunderstorm that lasts an hour or so. I have seen storms last most of the afternoon though. Obviously if we get hit with a tropical storm, or worse, that's a different story. It is still quite hot and humid in early September, so be prepared for that.
