Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Hi Everyone! We got back Tuesday night from a wonderful 1st stay at the BC. Thanks to all of you who take the time to post on this thread. Between this group and the CL board, I really got a lot of great information that helped enhance our trip. We received a nice upgrade from Standard view CL to Lagoon/Boardwalk view. We were overlooking the BC courtyard and Boardwalk. Really can't say enough about the CL and lounge. We were in #5677. I didn't take any pictures of the room, but it was 2 queen, full balcony, w/no pull out couch. We were close to the lounge, but not so much where it was too noisy.

Here are a few pictures of our view:

Looking up we are the top floor 2nd room in from the left.

If anyone has specific questions, I'll try to answer if I can. :goodvibes

First, I'm trying to decide if we should pick the first 2 weeks in November so that swimming might be more comfortable OR if I should stick with our usual 2 weeks after US Thanksgiving. Thoughts?
The first two weeks of November would have the Food and Wine Festival and the beginning of the Christmas parties. The two weeks after Thanksgiving would be all about Christmas. I think you need to decide which you would enjoy more. But I agree that you will get warmer weather the first two weeks of November.

This was our first time staying at Yacht Club, and it was absolutely glorious! I have completely fallen in love with the convenience of the location. We walked to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios, no problem. We also had views of the fireworks over at Epcot and then also at the cast member party at Hollywood Studios on our last night.
It sounds like you had a wonderful trip. :) Our favorite thing about the YC is how easy it is to walk to DHS from there. :) Thanks for posting your update.

That looks like it was a great room location - close to the elevators with a wonderful view, too. :)

That's fantastic!

I can't go that early so I'm out of touch. Is there a special on for that time? What does it involve? Dates?

Tinkerbella16, much like myself, has likely booked a magical deal. Google is your friend. Are you sure you can't check in by September 6th? The room rates available might make it worth your while.

I've looked at the room finder on Touring Plans, but I wanted to get advice from you guys on what is a good room/area to request at YC? We will have a garden view room. I don't really care how close to the lobby or elevator or anything. Just want a good view. Thanks!

It has been almost a month since I last checked in here! Just wanted to say we had a great vacation with the exact room location we asked for. Room #1518, near the "secret" Epcot entrance. The view is not special, but the location is! It was HOT... set records in the 90s!

I was sorry that I didn't get to see Teena one last time. :(

We also booked a bounce-back reservation to follow our cruise in June. But, even with the 30% discount, WDW is getting to be out of our price range! :(

Thanks to everyone on this thread who is always friendly and helpful. If I can answer any questions I would be happy to!

I think I found it- thanks for the help. Will have to do research on the company, have never used anyone but Disney to book our vacations.

Its getting to expensive with Disney, so I might have to look elsewhere to book vacations!!

My trip this past August was booked with them and they were great. I also had a magical deal booked for next August, but I switched it to May. My TA had quotes for me within a few hours of my request and the room booked that evening. She also booked our US trip for us. I could have done that just as easily myself, but she's been so great I wanted to give her the commission.

Gazebo view is best if you are in a GV room at the YC

Hi everyone......We have been here since last Saturday. Last night we came in late from EMH at MK and we found a ton of workers putting up all of the resort Christmas decorations. This morning...poof, they are all up and its just beautiful. For those of you on your way to BC/YC its full on Christmas!

I can't wait!

I hear you. Prices are skyrocketing, I guess we are paying for all these expansion plans despite record profits by Disney. Hope you find some magical prices!

Anyone staying May 2016, I just read that they extended the Flower and Garden Festival till May 30th!!!!! We were going to miss it by a week and now able to enjoy it, I've never been in May so this will be my first time at the Flower and Garden Festival!!! Staying at the Yacht Club will make it that much better!!! :D:D:D:banana:

I am excited!! DH gave me the thumbs up to book next October at WDW for a couples trip (thanks to some awesome compensation for a less than magical GF stay). Maybe we will do YC CL since it'll be all fancy and new. Or should I try to get us down there in Spring and stay at BC CL?? Decisions decisions....I will have to really WOW my DMIL next month to twist her arm into babysitting for us again so soon :)

I am impatiently awaiting my DHs 2016 schedule to nail down our summer dates...I am 98% sure we will be at SAB this summer :)

That is fantastic news! I'll be anxious to hear your October dates. Mark and I are seriously considering returning to WDW in October to celebrate our 30th anniversary.

This year during the Easter holidays we stayed at Disneyworld in a 5 person standard club level room at Beach Club Resort.
We have booked a two week-stay at the same resort in july 2016 but were unable to get the same club level.
We’ve phoned already several times about this. On the USA website, this room is available. On the UK website, this is available for only 4 persons, not 5. Nevertheless, we stayed in a 5 person standard club level room this year which we booked through the UK website.
Is there a specific reason why this 5 person standard club level room has now become unavailable?
We’ve phoned about this, but the person on the phone could not help us any further :worried:

That's frustrating!!! I know there are limited rooms in BC CL that have daybeds, but as you know, there are definitely some. I'm sorry that you can't book a room category through your UK site that you can see is available from the Disney site.

Do any of our UK friends have advice or insight into this?

:goodvibes:

Yes. We normally travel in August from MA so we either sweat at home or sweat in Disney. It's hot in August no matter where we are. ;-)
We stayed at BCV a few years ago, but this will be our first stay in the "proper" hotel.

Hello "neighbor" I get what you mean about summer travel. Sure may be a little more hot and humid in Florida in the summer than it is at home, but there is no better place to deal with miserable weather, right?

:sunny:

Hi everyone!
Finally booked a trip, we haven't been to the "World" since 2013!
We will be at the BC 1/17-1/23! Can't wait, first time at BC (3 previous trips to YC)!
Sooo excited!!!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1 of this thread.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thought this was interesting, have t seen at the other resorts. A small built in night light on wall below the makeup mirror in sink area. Handy for midnight wanderings.

Thank you so much for sharing your great pictures!

I've never done online check-in, but have tried it today. I have a question about when you put in the Add Room and Amenity Requests. I selected: large balcony and upper floor, then checked arriving early. When I hit done, the screen says Room Requests: Upper Floor and Large Balcony, Amenity Requests: None selected. So what does the "None selected" mean because there was nowhere else to select anything else.

:welcome:

When is your trip?

:woohoo:

Good question! I have never done the online checkin, so I am not really familiar with what the form looks like, other than what others have shared. I don't remember "Amenities" mentioned before. Is that new folks, or has it always been there? My understanding is that you couldn't request things like a cot or microwave until you arrived at the resort.

Anyone have any info about Amenity requests?

:thumbsup2

Following along... YC in May!!

South Jersey here too! Washington Twp!! Lol I have always wanted to stay in the Epcot resort area- preferrably BC! I usually go in November and discounts have been VERY limited! I found a magical deal for our Sept 2016 dates and the quotes I got are amazing for BC, YC, Poly, CR and GF. For 7 nights, 8 days with 7 day hoppers it will cost me less than what it normally would at a moderate for just myself in a room! My sister could not believe the price for her, DH and their baby who is free anyway. I think we have decided on the BC because of this awesome deal. I have never even stayed at a deluxe resort, so this is so exciting! I hope Beach Club is a good choice for a first deluxe stay. We have been to wdw so many times, but we are mainly POR lovers. Just the thought of walking to Epcot is amazing to me!!

We are doing the first week in September when kids go back to school. I was a little worried about the heat but I just got back on Saturday from a 10 day stay and it was SO hot/humid the first 6 days and I managed. I always took a break midday before heading back out in the evenings- this is always a great plan! It was a lot hotter than Nov usually is and a lot more crowded. I am excited to be booking September very soon!

:welcome:

The Beach and Yacht club are excellent resorts for an end of summer vacation! Please let us know if you book a trip.

We are planning our next trip to YC/BC in November 2017.

First, I'm trying to decide if we should pick the first 2 weeks in November so that swimming might be more comfortable OR if I should stick with our usual 2 weeks after US Thanksgiving. Thoughts?

Also, we are travelling with 4 real adults, 2 kids and 1 kid who will be an adult according to Disney. . I am trying to price out our stay. So far, it looks like our best bet is a 2 bedroom Villa through Dave's. We would also add on dining plan and 10 day park hopper.
Is there a cheaper option I am not aware of?

I don't really have answers to your questions, but wanted to say :welcome: back!

I know it has been really warm these past couple of weeks at the World this year. Not sure how significantly different the next couple of weeks will be. Swimming conditions in the months of Nov-Feb can be pretty unpredictable year to year and even day to day. Resorts will definitely be decorated for Christmas after Thanksgiving- they may be decorated the first couple of weeks depending on where you stay. The order the resorts are decorated is based on a lottery.

Thanks so much for letting us know about your trip.

If you get a chance, could you add your room description and view pictures to the Beach Club Room View thread on the Resorts Community subforum?

Thanks!!!

I know this answer must be on this thread somewhere, and I have already looked at page 1 for the answer. Trying to decide on our vacation for next year and trying to decide between a studio and a 1 bedroom room at the BC. Really don't care about the view. I know that the studio has a kitchenette, other than that what is the difference? Is the studio bigger? Does the studio have a king or queen bed? Do all studios have balconies?
