Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

On last nights Dis Podcast they talked about changes to Sandcastle Club. I've just pulled this from AllEars.

Dee - may be useful for first page?

Beginning December 4, the Sandcastle Club at Disney's Beach Club Resort and Lilo's Playhouse at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will offer new programming similar to that onboard Disney Cruise Line. Children left at these supervised children's activity centers that cater to kids 3 to 12 will now be able to participate in cooking activities, adventures in science, plus character interactions. In addition there will be the usual toys and games, dress up, crafts, storytelling and dancing, and dinner is included! Pricing is $55 per child from 4:30 to midnight. Call 407-WDW-DINE for reservations and more information.

I saw that, too! According to the Star Wars thread, DHS is supposed to have a dessert party for the Star Wars fireworks. My husband is taking the older girls to something else that night, so I might drop the youngest one off at the Sandcastle Club and treat my son to the dessert party.

We are from Southern New Jersey, too! Gloucester Township. We just went this past August and stayed at the BC with the magical deal. I totally get your excitement! There isn't much of a difference between the temperature. It seems hotter because at home we're not walking around in the heat all day, but it was manageable. The kids didn't complain about the heat at all. We took midday breaks at the pool each day. There were people there, but it wasn't crowded. SAB is so big that there is plenty of room for everyone. We never had a problem finding a group of chairs in the middle of the day. Have fun! We loved the BC!!
South Jersey here too! Washington Twp!! Lol I have always wanted to stay in the Epcot resort area- preferrably BC! I usually go in November and discounts have been VERY limited! I found a magical deal for our Sept 2016 dates and the quotes I got are amazing for BC, YC, Poly, CR and GF. For 7 nights, 8 days with 7 day hoppers it will cost me less than what it normally would at a moderate for just myself in a room! My sister could not believe the price for her, DH and their baby who is free anyway. I think we have decided on the BC because of this awesome deal. I have never even stayed at a deluxe resort, so this is so exciting! I hope Beach Club is a good choice for a first deluxe stay. We have been to wdw so many times, but we are mainly POR lovers. Just the thought of walking to Epcot is amazing to me!!

We are doing the first week in September when kids go back to school. I was a little worried about the heat but I just got back on Saturday from a 10 day stay and it was SO hot/humid the first 6 days and I managed. I always took a break midday before heading back out in the evenings- this is always a great plan! It was a lot hotter than Nov usually is and a lot more crowded. I am excited to be booking September very soon!

I think I found it- thanks for the help. Will have to do research on the company, have never used anyone but Disney to book our vacations.

Its getting to expensive with Disney, so I might have to look elsewhere to book vacations!!

FWIW, they replied to my queries the same day, and an hour or so after paying my $200 deposit I had my confirmation email etc, and the reservation number which when applied to the MDE app brought my itinerary up immediately.

We are planning our next trip to YC/BC in November 2017.

First, I'm trying to decide if we should pick the first 2 weeks in November so that swimming might be more comfortable OR if I should stick with our usual 2 weeks after US Thanksgiving. Thoughts?

Also, we are travelling with 4 real adults, 2 kids and 1 kid who will be an adult according to Disney. . I am trying to price out our stay. So far, it looks like our best bet is a 2 bedroom Villa through Dave's. We would also add on dining plan and 10 day park hopper.
Is there a cheaper option I am not aware of?

Hi everyone......We have been here since last Saturday. Last night we came in late from EMH at MK and we found a ton of workers putting up all of the resort Christmas decorations. This morning...poof, they are all up and its just beautiful. For those of you on your way to BC/YC its full on Christmas!

It is official!!!!!! I am booked at the Beach Club for Sept 3-10th 2016! My package literally cost me less than moderate resort package! I am so excited!!!!!!!!!

That's fantastic!

I can't go that early so I'm out of touch. Is there a special on for that time? What does it involve? Dates?

Haven't had a chance to catch up on this thread yet. Just returned yesterday from the Yacht Club Regatta Club. :) This was our first time staying at Yacht Club, and it was absolutely glorious! I have completely fallen in love with the convenience of the location. We walked to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios, no problem. We also had views of the fireworks over at Epcot and then also at the cast member party at Hollywood Studios on our last night.

We were welcomed up to the lounge check in desk and were treated to (huge) glasses of the welcome champagne. Either they were out of champagne glasses or I was giving off champagne lovin' vibes, because they returned with pilsner glasses filled to the brim. Our room wasn't ready, but that was fine as we planned to do some exploring around the Epcot resorts (all of which are beautiful). We received an upgrade from garden view to lagoon view, so the wait was worth it.

We spent the afternoon enjoying SAB. Oh. My. Gosh. Pictures do not do this pool justice. I thought I was prepared for how big and awesome it was but once I actually saw it with my own eyes, I was totally blown away. We had SO much fun. We don't have children, but I know that when I was a kid I would have ADORED that pool. Would love to take a BC/YC trip once we do have our own kids old enough to enjoy SAB.

The lounge construction on the club level is definitely visible. However, we were down waaaay down a long hall (room 5239), so it didn't really bother us (aside from walking halfway to our room on plastic they'd rolled out over the carpet in the hallway). We found the temporary lounge in the presidential suite to be a real treat. We were always able to find seats, and most times sat outside on the balcony and enjoyed some privacy and the beautiful view of the Boardwalk. We really enjoyed the breakfast offerings in the lounge each morning. We only stopped in for "snack" service once. However, we found ourselves being less "commando" with our touring style this trip because we wanted to be sure to make time to pop by the lounge for the appetizer and dessert services.

One thing I did notice was that there were definitely quite a few dishes/glasses left out along the walls in the hallways. The rooms are definitely in need of a refurb, but since I was prepared for that it the wear/tear didn't really bother me. Everything was clean, and that's what was most important. The beds were comfortable, although our first night the room next to us came back a bit later and we could easily hear them through the walls. Not sure if that's just the YC walls in general, or if it was just this particular family.

Overall, LOVED LOVED LOVED our experience at YC, and would happily stay there again. Thanks so much for all the informative posts that I read here over the past several months. Yall were so helpful, and I don't think I'd have enjoyed our stay nearly as much but for everybody on this thread! :)
