"Pineapple Treats"

The Frozen Pineapple Treats, aka "Dole Whips" were NOT available earlier this week during our trip. The window never opened. We asked at 11 am on Sunday if they were available and were told that the frozen treat area would open from noon until 6 IF there was adequate staffing.

I was at Stormalong Bay around 4 on Monday, and the window was not open then either.

There is still no news. We did stumble upon some sample hallway décor in the Yacht Club. Not impressed! There was a beige, non-textured carpeting in the hallways that is NOT a good idea! (Pictures coming)

When the Beach Club was preparing for renovations at club level, guests were receiving letters giving them an option to move to a standard room or club level at the Yacht Club. I have not heard that anyone has received similar letters regarding the YC.

I think someone posted something that was in some DVC communication about renovations being put off until the WL renovations were done, but I think that was while I was away. As I catch up on the thread, I will look into that.

Only a bible in the rooms.

Based on how fast you pulled that picture up, I'm guessing your lego organizing skills are only rivaled by your photo filing system.

Where are these yum yums supposed to be?

In late July or early August we got word from Erika (TigrLvsPooh, not the storm) that Dole Whips and other Frozen Treats (Mickey Bars and the like) were being sold in the former Pool Gift Shop stand- near the activities portion of Stormalong Bay.

Not sure if they are gone forever, or if they will be there during busier times when there is adequate staffing.

It was pretty slow the couple of days I was there and the time I was at Universal. Not sure if it was the end of summer/start of school or Erika (the storm) that was hyped up but also ended up, thankfully, being a no-show. Probably a bit of both.

I love the Abu name. Wish the magic bands had more choices of characters!

You can actually choose whatever nickname you wish and it will be printed on the band. You may be asked your "proper name" at times however...

Early Morning Bus/Boat report:

I went out to the Beach Club bus stop at 6:30 on Sunday morning. The following buses arrived while I was there.

6:30 MK
6:52 AK
6:54 MK
7:06 AK

Then I left.

It was 8 am early entry opening for AK and 9 am opening for MK.

Of course, no buses to EP or HS (boat).

I was planning on monitoring the boat on Monday, but that didn't happen. I was out from 6:30 am until a little after 7 on Tuesday Sept 1 and I didn't see any Friendship boats docking. It was 8 am early opening at EPCOT.

Wish I could sleep later. My body gets up early every single day of the year- weekends, holidays, vacations...

I am not a great sleeper, but I do have moments when I sleep REALLY well and nothing can wake me.

I have some devastating news. Teena's husband Bob passed away unexpectedly this morning. Friends are with her and Jeanne is on her way to Florida.

I am so sorry for Teena's loss. She is an amazing woman. Many thoughts and prayers heading towards her and her family.

Such a helpful thread and great community.

This is our first time renting DVC points. We we will be staying in a Studio Villa October 2-9. I'm unsure about how Mousekeeping works in this situation. Do I need to request it upon check-in? Additionally, do we check in at the BC main lobby? Any others tips for first time DVC renters that I may not know about? I appreciate any info!

Just wanted to add, that you count your check in day as day #1 and the trash and towel service is day #4. ENJOY!
